Beautiful restoration! Chris Craft was the gold standard in the 1950's-60's. Grampa bought a 1955 42 foot Chris Craft in 1959, So, Calif, and we grew up on it, lots of great memories from these classic boats! In high-school I lived aboard Sea Cloud in the summer as grampas personal "bilge rat" and had the best time of my life. My jobs included getting bumpers up & down, fill water tanks, put window canvass up and down, hose the boat and canvas down after each outting, endlessly polishing chrome, put the flag up and down, and the annual varnishing! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous old "woodie", and thank you grampa for that opportunity to a world we would have never known.
Thanks for sharing- A beautiful piece of history- I had a 1965 38’ SeaSkiff Corinthian (with fly bridge) for 11 years- It was my 3rd wooden boat as I had previously owned a 28’ Owens and a 34’ wheeler (I loved wooden boats)- The Chris Craft was very special to me and we covered some miles out of the Boston Harbor-Marc
Beautiful Chris Craft, I grew up on one of these. Ours was 1957 and Dad ordered it with helm station on port side, so the cabin was different as well. Twin Chevy's , what great memories. Thanks for sharing!
Ours had 430 Lincoln engines and Velvet Drive transmissions. A mountain of low end torque and wide open, 4400 rpms all day long. They had Carter AFB carbs and NEVER failed to start and idle hot, cold or in between. I'm not so sure things weren't more satisfying and I'm almost positive we were materially better off!
What a beautiful boat! Excellent job on the restoration. My Dad has a 1960 Chris Craft Roamer. It needs to be restored but as a kid I have lots of fond memories on it.
Beautiful. Been thinking about finding one that needs some tender loving care and restoring her myself. This video just added some motivation! Thank you for sharing.
Many of beers on a boat exactly like that me and my buddy picked one up when we were kids back in the early 80s we had to do quite a bit of work to it. Only got one motor running but that was good enough cuz all we did was cruise around the bay and drink beer Good Times.
Vintage was a spectacular boat in every respect. And the engine compartment was in beautiful condition new stroker engines with tune pipe header all polished. The varnish was easily 4-5 inch deep. Just a beautiful example.
What is she, 32'? And what's her power? Twin Lincoln's or Caddy's? Did you urethane the teak decks or Tung oil them? I have a curious worm in me on a classic like she is. She has graceful lines of a '50's boat. I know you gotta have the blob of a RADAR sticking up to spoil things some-she's still yar. I wonder how stable a sea-boat she is-she could surprise you.
This is much like the 1957 38 foot Constellation I grew up on, and had to varnish endlessly. Our layout was totally different, with the wheel on the left an door to cabin on the far right. Also the galley was in front - all different, yet I sure do like this one. One could, and I Did, waterski behind it, a few times. What a sound those old straight 6 truck engines had, if we could keep them running! The boat 'Timarlin III' is said to have been taken to LA, may have been the one seen in a TV commercial, and had a unique 4 Air Standard horns on one manifold set up on the hard top, if anyone has seen her?
May I ask, what is the decks sealed with please?, I have a teak deck and was looking to seal them rathar than replace it. Lovely boat btw, lot of love and care put into her,
Philip, to "seal" oil based urethane is hard to beat, for "authentic" and re-do every couple of years, Tung oil and lots of it and rub until your arm is as big as your leg! Courtesy my friend that works at Southern Hills Country Club (the PGA Championship is there this year I think) and Larry refinishes the teak benches with Tung oil on a rotating basis each Winter. Being from Okra-Homer, I don't know how urethane holds-up to sun and salt water. It handles rain and weather OK for four or five years IF you put on many coats and prep well.
Apparently they were not sealed at all as it makes the deck slippery when wet. I have the same problem. An old teak deck that leaks in places. Sometimes they are covered which is a shame but nessesary evil, so to speak.
Beautiful! My Dad had one exactly like this back in 1963. We kept it at St. Pete's beach during the winter and over in West Palm during the summer months. Dad had to sell her when my Mom and Dad got divorced. I never missed my Dad that much...but I sure missed that boat!
You just have to have a love for wooden hulled boats. I restored a 1951 55' Greube in the mid 1970s and a CC sea skiff in the 90s. I'm done with wood boats too much money, maint
P.S. Chris Craft has moved all its documentation to a museum in Virignia. Years ago i got all the paperwork to gramps Chris Craft, it even had the head woodworker/craftsman signature on the build sheet, i think it cost $25 many years ago.
Nice...looks like you have a Dickinson Diesel Heater...can you tell me how or where you got the angled/canted teak round fitting that is on top of the deck for the chimney exhaust?...Best SV "Aquila"
I agree, putting varnish on teak that you walk on is a classic No No! This is from a yacht owner and someone who has been around yacht building for many years.

A beautiful example of a fully restored vintage Chris Craft! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful! I love those old Chris Crafts!
There is something very special and satisfying about seeing a product restored to its former elegance.
Gorgeous! Brings back fond memories of out 1963 32' Connie. I loved that boat.
So just found out yesterday that I inherited this same boat! It's been in a barn since 1988. Cannot wait to start playing with it!

I love Chris craft boats. Beautiful boat
That is a beautiful piece of work. You are excellent craftsman.. That is a work of art!.
A testimony to true craftsmanship!!!
Both now in the restoration as well as when it was built!
What a beautiful boat! Excellent job on the restoration. My Dad has a 1960 Chris Craft Roamer. It needs to be restored but as a kid I have lots of fond memories on it.
We have a 32’ 1958 CC Commander. Your boat is beautiful. Looks like ours! ❤️
She's beautiful!

I recently discovered an old TV show called "Harbor Command", which features some great boats like this.
Mooie crisis craft ❤
Haar in goede conditie houden vraagt wat inspiratie, maar je krijgt er iets voor terug.🎉
Beautiful! I had a 1959. Great boats and happy to see the restoration
What a beautiful day runner! Just awesome!!
That is a beautiful piece of work. You are excellent craftsman.
Just came across your video of your Chris Craft...BEAUTIFUL !
An absolute beautiful boat! Thanks for sharing.
Vintage was a spectacular boat in every respect. And the engine compartment was in beautiful condition new stroker engines with tune pipe header all polished. The varnish was easily 4-5 inch deep.
Just a beautiful example.
Beautiful. Funny to hear the French Canadian radio in the background! Je me souviens
I thought so too when I lived in Michigan! Same thing here in Texas, but in Spanish, lol
Ha! Trop drôle la radio!! Vraiment très beau bateau. Mon grand-père avait un Chris Craft en acajou. De beaux souvenirs.
They really made some beautiful boats huh!
Nice, love the classic retro look. Looks like someone welded a Chevy station wagon on top of a boat deck.
i grew up with this exact same boat!!!!!Amazing!!!
Nice Bullnose and Boathouse!
Nice, I bet that gets all of the attention when they take it out.
Mervelous !! Congratulations !!
Absolutely beautiful
That is a work of art!
Used to ride around in one when I was a kid
Wow. Just wow. Very very nice

They have very good reputation very nice boat.

What a beauty! I would like to go back in time and buy one of these brand new, I wonder what they sold for back in 1956?
$9599.00
@@LaakonaThat's pathetic! Today it costs that to fill the tanks.
Beautiful boat.
I may have missed it, but is this a vintage boat?
Beautiful... just more attention to detail and styling from old school designers
Holy Crap Batman! Nice cost as much as a house! You can't fish off the back porch! But you can sleep in the Chris Craft!
Nice looking boat
Gorgous....56 ...chris ...kinda cool im a chris an born in 56...feel conected
Wow! That’s not a lot of money for this boat if you can afford it…..something special about these and I’m thankful that many are being restored.
nice work. she's a beauty
Outstanding lack of commentary. Much appreciated. ( you forgot to close the boarding rail)
This is a classy tiny home needing a new owner.
Beautiful
Great job.

Just beautiful😀 Spent lots of time on one very similar; where is Vintage moored ?
Beautiful! RWB ❤🎉
I have a Sterling Model 1953 "63 foot Motoryacht" (RC electric powered model boat) , much like this example.
Beautiful! My Dad had one exactly like this back in 1963. We kept it at St. Pete's beach during the winter and over in West Palm during the summer months. Dad had to sell her when my Mom and Dad got divorced. I never missed my Dad that much...but I sure missed that boat!
Memories had a 1968 CC fly-B

I remember that forward hatch from my 27 and 32
Nice...looks like you have a Dickinson Diesel Heater...can you tell me how or where you got the angled/canted teak round fitting that is on top of the deck for the chimney exhaust?...Best SV "Aquila"
Looks like Clark/Kelly 's boat in Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse"
Does that shed come with it . That’s a sweat setup
74 thousand sounds like a good deal for a boat that looks like it has been completely restored, even 4 years ago.
That varnished teak deck looks very slippery.
I agree, putting varnish on teak that you walk on is a classic No No! This is from a yacht owner and someone who has been around yacht building for many years.
From a time when boats were actually built, not just manufactured
Brilliant.
So good
Nice.
Wowsa!!
Wooden hull 10k max! The Fairliner Brothers made this model better!
Very nice
I have a battery powered twin screw model of this boat given to me in 1957
Wow..
Beautiful.
Did you sell it?
beautiful boat! you should have someone that actually know how to use a camera film it for you...
Wow.
For boat house storage only ! Sun and salt would ruin it.
Lol, salt..... nope!
engines? hours?
Had 351 ford's then changed to chev 383 fast burn 800+horses
Something tells me this boat is vintage.
Why so many "vintage" signs. Not sure anyone would think it was modern.
nice
They just don't make it like that anymore. Mercy
Nice
F-IN WOW
Noice...
You move the Camera around you can’t tell what in the world you are looking at
but after two years of normal use it would not look the same
Varnished decks are slippery
Not the same boat.
A bit of narration wouldn't of hurt.
That's a boat
Another money pit.
Bargain. 70k
but...engines
The "Vintage" sign is gay
your dad was
Dick comment
No purpose here. Clearly the name and judging by the work overall has spent a LOT OF TIME in Canada's many boat shows!
