TWISTED HATE semi-chaotic review (I'm in love with another fictional man)

  • This was my favorite of the series so far. 4.5/5 stars.
To explain what I didn't like about the ending was that it feels like a conflict that wasn't necessary. I guess Josh was blinded in that moment that Jules didn't tell him to truth about her past earlier, but he reacted the exact same way that she was afraid he would, hence her BEING RIGHT ABOUT HOW HE'D REACT. This is the point of the book where I started to like Alex (from Twisted Love) the most because he was the only one to get through to Josh about how stupid he was being. It also felt so out of character for Josh. I think if Ana Huang really wanted to sell this as the third act conflict, she should have set up Josh's trauma a lot more throughout the book. They mention it here and there, but not enough to the point where his reaction is believable.

Omg! Totally love your review on this. Josh is my favorite twisted men outta the series as well. I know a lotta people didn't like this book because of that one scene where Josh hit right in the heart but I kinda saw it coming, especially when he trusted Jules a LOT. I think, they both were in the wrong , but the whole situation couldv'e been dealt better imo (but ofc what Josh said was quite hurtful). But lmfao I lowkey think he gets a lotta blame when Christian from Twisted Lies literally had a file about Stella and all the details about her when she was dealing with an literal freak stalker 💀. But still I totally agree with u! I love Josh and Jules and they'll forever be my fav twisted couples.

But I think that the scene of josh which everyone hated was the most raw scene that was so close to reality, Idk it just gave me a realisation that not everyone is perfect and humans make mistakes. When I read books, most of the time the male protagonist is soo dreamy and high above and far from reality while this brought me back to the ground. That scene showed humans most rawest emotions when we are truly hurt, its way of coping to hurt the other aswell. And the apology was all I lived for seriously. I understand why most people didn't liked that scene-because eventually everyone wants book males to be perfect men. If not perfect atleast rich and emotionless cold natured guys,

My favourite of the series as well. AH is improving. My main issue was the blackmail plot too but particularly the fact she’s about to be a lawyer and was being blackmailed with revenge porn and she couldn’t find a better solution. Plus I agree with Josh, if she thought about it she’d know he’d feel completely betrayed given his history. But Josh is King!

That period scene! 🫠🫠🫠🫠 The breakfast scene! ❤❤❤❤The bunny slope! 🔥 The date with Asher 😂😂😂😂 The kink/smut was so incongruent with Josh’s personality (basically a cocky teddy bear). Jules is 😎😎😎

omg I am so glad I discovered you. I gave this book a chance after watching your review and I can't get them out of my head! I'm pretty I discovered some kinks I didn't know I had after reading this book lol (the smut scenes are insane!), Josh and Jules are so dreamy and I can definitely see your point about how attractive asian men are and that they deserve better. Do you have any recommendations on books where the male love interest is asian? You've got good taste and l desperately need more like this ugh

THE KISS QUOTIENT. Sadly a lot of romance books don’t have Asian men as leads so I can’t think of many other than that one. But that book is one of my favs. The ML so sweet. It’s a cute little RomCom but its also super steamy. Doesn’t really have kinks like twisted hate tho.

Yes you can! Although there is some backstory from the first book that would help A LOT to understanding Josh’s character that leads into twisted hate so I’d at least skim the first book if anything.
