how did you remove the exhaust from the turbo? I can barely get a socket on the nut due to the firewall. Did you lift the cab slightly? Just about to start drivers side replacement tomorrow, passenger side went well. thanks for the video
2016 3.5 ecoboost same chirping issue idle and freeway. Ford replaced exhaust manifold, broken stud, warped Issue not solved 100% noise at freeway and bumps
I have a squealing sound upon acceleration too!! Did you find out your cause? I'm also fouling spark plugs on the side of squealing. I am guessing it's the manifold gasket?
@@cbsans964 Yes it was my exhaust manifold the last stud closest to the firewall broke off which made the exhaust crack. Now what I did was got an estimate at the dealership to fix it then called Ford and ask for financial assistance only paid $207 to get it fixed Ford pay the rest it works so be sure you call Ford
That back stud is known to break from manifold warpage. Mine were broke on both sides of an 2011. Low speed chirps or squeal until it warmed up and swelled enough to close the gap. In the end it wouldn't seal on warm up.
I just did this on my 2015 f150, The new manifold I ordered is a lil different, it has an extra hole for a stud on the turbo end of the manifold.

Yes it’s a tight fit. Think I used a deep well socket, a wobble and a couple extensions
Were you able to get it resurfaced and usable? New manifolds are around $80-$90 bucks shipped to your door.
Ya resurfaced for around $30. The old engine guy said it’ll last longer than another new one cause it’s done warping
@@richvandenbroeke5493 how did it last?
@@Branhawk it worked great, sold the truck with 192k. The engine builder I took the manifold to said it was better to resurface the used one
Can this cause a boost leak? I noticed a drop in my boost numbers and then the cricket/squealing sound started up.
If you hear the cricket it’s leaking
When running was it a squealing noise win you accelerated
Not squealing, more of a fast chirping, then that went away after the gasket completely blew out from me driving it so long like that

Does that cause power lose
I don’t think it did because I kept driving it until I was ready to fix it
