Something I almost never see mentioned, is how much of a great pull Ayato is for those who play on mobile. He's by far the easiest onfield DPS to play as, and the fact he clears most camps with a single E also makes him great for overworld exploration.
Same bruh. Never has even a ounce of regret pulling him. Ayato just too versatile. Although he is not dealing high burst damage but his consistency, versatility and semi quick swap gameplay make really ez to slide him in every team compt. But personally i just play him with kuki hyperbloom since his E and burst can help a lot in hyperbloom team.
I never regretted pulling for Ayato. He's the third character in my entire account to get a crown (I crowned his skill) and I really enjoy using him from time to time... It's also really fun to count how many slashes you can dish out, at least for me :)
Exact same for me as well. He was something of an accident going for Yun Jin cons last time, but as I started using him he quickly became my favorite hydro on-fielder for how incredibly useful and flexible he is. Before I knew it he was one of my most well built characters and he was the 4th character to recieve a crown on my account (Ganyu, Raiden and Ayaka were before him. And actually I crowned Yoimiya on the same day).
Ayato is always in my Abyss teams eversince I got him. My man used to be in a soup team with Benny, Fischl and Kazu but now he's exclusively in hyperbloom Kuki team
Him being Hydro makes a difference. I have benched many DPSes but not him since I can practically use him anywhere especially with new units. Plus his attacks in overworld are enough to clear small fights without having to use full rotations. I use him on my dailies to carry unbuilt characters for namecards because he can make use almost any supports in the game. He is super beginner friendly
This is so true. Abyss only resets twice a month, you can use your meta pulls then. But Ayato’s convenience makes him so valuable in the daily game battles plus he’s pleasing to the eyes. I never got tired of looking at him haha
@yaaaan he’s one of the characters that’s prettier in game while there are characters who are meh in game but great at official arts, his sister is the best example of it. She’s pretty but the front view just destroys her and that bowl bangs 😭 I have too much saved photo of Ayato in game. I can’t stop taking photos of him everywhere
This. I agree that the hydro part really makes him feels more valuable than most units. He might be not the greatest or the strongest option for a hydro fps, but his versatility and ease to play is very appreciated from beginner to late game players.
I've used ayato as a hyper carry, driver, and off field hydro application support. He's so flexible and a quality pull. His ER passive is so underrated since if you use him off field and give him an ER weapon, his burst is almost always ready again
Ayato is such a simple and reliable character who delivers results. He'll never be the absolute best hydro unit for a team, but he's a close second for so many teams. The value especially here is that it frees up that critical hydro character in the other team
yeah I built 1 Ayato, 1 Ayaka, 1 Xiao and i can 36* every abyss, mainly coz Ayato has so many f2p frendly teams that no matter what the abyss throws at me, Ayato cna deliver.
Yeah. Hydro is so versatile that there's is no bad 5 star hydro to pull. Childe still have one of the strongest team. Kokomi is the best healer with consistent hydro. Ayato is a solid pick for any team that need a hydro. Yelan is yelan. And mona is still good on freeze and damage per screenshot team
He's the best hydro for Hyperbloom in AoE, like by far. Childe's cooldowns don't lineup bc the team has no downtime and XQ/Yelan are ST so falloff hard per target (see curent 12-3-2)

@@Aremder I disagree once you get 2-3 dps and a healthy amount of support, I find that at least getting the weapons on the dps can greatly improve your account. I have Hu tao, Raiden and Ayaka and the only character I really want is Yelan, but I'm trying my luck on Raiden's weapon so I can free the catch for xiangling. Hopefully i have enough for Homa later as well.
Ayato being a hydro dps will grow stronger as time goes on and as new characters gets released that synergies with the element. But the same goes for every other hydro 5 star. If your hydro roaster is quite empty, you won't regret pulling for him.
What I LOVE about Ayato is that he easily fits into so many teams. Vaporize, electro-charged, freeze, hypercarry, and everything bloom related. Well, this advantage applies to most hydro damage dealers but Ayato is just so easy to use that he always becomes my first pick in either over world and the abyss.
Ayato is my highest investment when it comes to artifacts because he just deletes the abyss and has so many team comps to fit your needs. First I got him as a burst support for Ganyu freeze and then he transitioned to the DPS of the soup team. A double crown later, changing from mistsplitter to jade cutter and now he's sitting at 89.9/224 crit. Just a casual 4 piece gladiator that was strongboxed over time but man his potential is sky high
I thank Ayato's ease of use in combat for preventing my hands from developing carpal tunnel with how you can just hold down his E skill for its entire duration instead of thinking too hard about attack combo strings eheh. Got my first 36 star Abyss clears ever since his debut and I've always enjoyed how flexible and chill his teams can get! Bubble tea idle/ 10.
Not only Ayato is a well balanced on-field DPS character, he's also a beginner-friendly unit. Plus after using his skill, his normal attack is very satisfying to use.
the way I’m watching this even though I pulled for ayato on his first banner and he’s still my main to this day. I made the decision to pull for him even before his kit reveal simply bc i simp but honestly he’s extremely easy to build, extremely easy to play that I don’t regret it at all. He’s great for people who likes a mindless gameplay like me 😂
I pulled him because of how pretty he is and how perfect his burst was. He’s the only character I used money on so consistently! I’m planning on pulling his weapon this time so he can be fully complete
I have used Ayato in every abyss cycle since I got him, I love using him with Kazuha (Or Venti), Yunjin and Zhongli, but I have also used him on a taser team as well as new bloom based reaction teams and he never lets me down. I also have Childe who I use in International team because Childe is more optimal there but overall I prefer Ayato. Ayato may not seem strong on the surface but he attacks very fast and his numbers add up in the end, plus he is very flexible.
He was one of those “impulse/appearance” wise pull of mine but he is actually not just good looking but also a good hydro dps/sub dps. Definitely a must pull 💕
@@MOG2024 You don't necessarily need that much dmg more of a enabler for vap and Bloom reactions. But if you are using his hypercarry(Bennet+Yunjin+Kazuha) You can reach 25-30K per Normal atk easily So 15*30K per skill. But his skill has Quadratic scaling so he works much better in AOE than on single target.
@@dip5766 Caveat: His burst, like ganyu's, has limited quadratic scaling. after 4 grouped enemies, the scaling is only linear. it's still quite good for AoE, but it's not childe riptide level scaling (though obviously, as an off-field hydro, he way outdoes childe unless you have c4 childe)
@@MOG2024 he's raw damage is 8.5k_ 11k he deals around 20k_25k with Bennet and zhongli and xianling but he's main roll is applying hydro for bloom reactions and vaporize so it's okey if he isn't dealing too much damage
My favorite Ayato's freeze team is with XQ and Chonyun ( the passive adds speed to Ayato's attacks, 1-2 extra slashes). I have added Layla just for friendship farm and is amazingly synergistic to play with. best of luck to all Ayato wanters!
@@NikolasThane i have an average of 100 ping and i can squish 1-2 extra ( 15-16 instead of the regular 14) slashes for Ayato, paired with Chonyun. :) I forgot: Jean c2 is also an excellent companion for Ayato, so losing a 50/50 to Jean doesn't feel too bad, lol.
@@NikolasThane the ping doesn't affect as much as fps in the game. if you play on pc 30 fps try lower it to 24. you can feel the different from there. ping will not affect much for hitlag unless you have 229ms (red) or higher but affect the dmg accumulation that lead to waste your time in abyss(usually 3-5 second ) i usually have 76-112 ms and my main are yoimiya and ayato so it's ok

Everyone praises Raiden Shogun for how good she is and because she's an Archon, and I understand why because she really is that good. However, I already have 2 powerful electro units (Yae Miko and Fischl), and are lacking in the hydro department. I also needed a good DPS. So with my situation in mind, and thanks to this video, I'm definitely gonna go with Ayato.
Ayato was the second 5 star I pulled hard for after I started playing earlier this year. He has carried me through so much of this game. I use him in spiral abyss a lot too. I also pulled Childe on his recent rerun and while he is fun, I still find myself going back to Ayato for the most part, especially when I want to use burgeon team. I use Childe for large mobs with electro/cryo units but Ayato for mostly everything else.
I have both Ayato and Childe, don't regret getting them. Ayato is more comfortable and can be in many team comps, some not needing Bennett. While Childe needs a bit more skill, awareness (xiangling burst ready? too long on field? etc) and Bennett. Bennett is one busy boy.
I hate meticulous mechanic tbh. Cos u need to spend irl time learn and train to use. That why i like ayato mindless playstyle more. irl work and raising kids already hard enough for me to focus and trying to spend time to learn meticulous mechanic. Well for people who have many time to waste ofc they enjoy using childe more. Like full fledge game streamer who can speand 8-16hr gaming daily basis childe mechanic is not a problem. But for me who only spend 30min to 1 hour daily. Ayato is far better in every aspects.
Childe's fighting style is sick. Those melee attacks are so satisfying to look at. It's sadge I lost my 50/50 and didn't get Childe. I'm quite new to the game so even though he's known as the rerun archon, I really want another chance to pull for him. But I guess that's not gonna happen anytime soon. I'm just a low-spender, borderline f2p. But Genshin is my first time when I experienced this moment where I can't just save up and buy what I want. I need to wait for a long while now for the rerun. Ik that's the point of Gatcha - "you don't know when your character might return so spend money now!" But I'm still looking at Childe's gameplay - thinking man, I want that - and then just not be able to do anything about it. This is not Gatcha fomo - this is just dissatisfaction with the game. I'm not gonna spend more money then I already do on this game, because I physically can't and there's no point cause when I will be able to - my character isn't there. I guess the only people who have this complaint are the ones who don't care about most characters and only want soecific ones, or the ones that already have most characters save a few.
Tbh i’m at the same spot as you now. i love the “complex” and satisfying gameplay of childe and his character design, but since i was a new player that started around the end of his banner it makes me annoyed that i will have to wait for at least half a year… so mainwhile im considering to pull for ayato instead which also seems cool

One of my favourite characters and most satisfactory pulls. Love using this guy with Zhong, Xingqiu and Kazuha. Feels so fluid, reliable and effective. A really simple rotation too.
Ayato’s almost never left my abyss team. He’s just so perfectly balanced and he goes with any team. He’s not crazy game-changing amazing damage-wise (I’m at C0 R1 Harran with a 80-180 CR:CD ratio with 120 ER using a 4pc HoD) unlike the typical DPS carries but he’s so flexible to a point that he’ll go with whatever team you put him in. Worth a pull in my book! For those pulling him, I highly suggest Vape, Electro, Hyperbloom, Freeze and Ayato Hyper Carry (with Yunjin, Xingqui and Zhongli). But I use him in a mono-Hydro team with Yelan, Xingqui and Kokomi/Kazuha just for the shts and giggles but it still clears the abyss and does the job 💙

This video is still fresh, good job! Ayato lost even more weight with Nauvilette's coming on stage but other new characters and sets kept him somewhat still enjoyable.
I have both Ayato and Yelan and I use Ayato a lot more due to his better flexibility and ease of use. Yelan gets a lot of hype but honestly if you have xingqiu c6, Ayato is a much better pull for an f2p or low spending account because he brings something different with main DPS capabilities and larger AOE
I accidentally got Ayato while pulling for Xiangling cons and it was the best accident to ever happen. I use him to clear the abyss every time. Be it vape, taser, freeze or hyperbloom, Ayato can easily perform very well. Such a dependable and versatile unit.
Thanks for the Childe mentions! I want ayato for his playstyle but... I know Tartaglia will be put on the shelf forever if I get him. And I much prefer Tartaglia's appearance. Trying to resist because Alhaitham. But dang I really want to combine his burst with Ganyu's, and slap one of the drippiest swords on him (Black Sword or Kazuha'd cursed sword)
In practice they have very different teams. Childe isn't as good in hyperbloom or soup, Ayato isn't as good in international. You can also easily use them both.
I have both (accidentally pulled ayato instead of venti) but ayato isn’t as good as childe in international so I use him in hyper bloom. They don’t share supports so it’s good for me. Although I don’t play ayato a lot he’s still pretty versatile
Ayato has been a great pull for me. I hadn’t realized just how necessary he is for my roster until I realized a lot of times I would need a hydro character or a DPS to fill a role and I look and bam there he is filling both (I don’t have/want Childe, and I switched my Mona from DPS build to Emblem Nuke). He also can be used as a burst because it’s so easy to throw out and get SO much utility from. He fits in most teams and with most supports (Xingqiu/Yelan/Xiangling/Yunjin/VENTI) and isn’t hard to build or use. Definitely one of the best designed characters in the game.

@@salayy I meant they play in similar ways so you can have 2 teams, one with Yoimiya as main DPS and the other with Ayato. They are both very easy to play.
I first regretted pulling for him, thinking he wasn't strong enough. But with time he was just good enough to consolidate many teams and attacks in a big enough AoE making him great for that.
Ever since I pulled Ayato I was able to finish hard contents of the game (I only started playing this year) esp spiral abyss where he is always on my team. I played around with different team comps and after the dendro release, I more enjoyed using him with hyperbloom and now building my Thoma for burgeon. I have other main dps like Ganyu, Ayaka, Raiden and now Wanderer but he will always be my go-to main character. So yes he is worth it to pull and invest!
Quick answer: Raiden is worth pulling. Sevy mentions her toward the end of this video, and has another video from a while ago that still applies. Long answer: she's never been not worth pulling. Versatile as a sub dps and battery, solid main dps at c0, broken at c2. Easy to use. Can use The Catch (f2p weapon). Build her for ER for dps, or EM for hyperbloom.
i recently started playing with my ayato again because i finally got some good artifacts for him and i forgot how much fun he was he also works in so many team comps
Personally I really love his ultimate skill AoE (with other cryo characters and espeically Ayaka, this is a lot of fun). I think he's just as helpful as Kokomi consistently applying hydro dmg and his elemental skill has a really fast cooldown. If you stack enough hp and atk on him, all you do is hold to win.
The worst thing about pulling for Ayato doesnt even have to do with Ayato. He's on at the same time as Raiden, and Yelan's rerun is coming 3.4, so he's sandwiched between the literal 2 best characters in the game.
Doesn't matter since he is actually better than both if built well. Chunking out every six seconds all of his dmg just holding down a button lol And the AoE on his atks is insane.
@@Ivy-jq6di waifu appeal is always greater than male characters. Hydro is the most versatile element irrespective of whether it is Ayato Yelan or Childe. Ayato in my opinion has the biggest bonus that his major chunk of dmg comes from E and not from Q so you can build him easily
i have him since his first banner and i still learnt a lot from this video! didnt play him that much bc i have other great dps characters (incl childe haha) and since i was farming xiao set i just gave ayato some of his signature set arts as well. didnt know that it was actually better to slap on him the older sets lol i will definetly try other builds on ayato thanks to you Sevy!

I already had Childe, but I couldn't resist pulling for Ayato after running his trial. I often run Childe international on one side of the Abyss and Kamisato freeze on the other side with Ayato and Ayaka. I don't regret pulling for him at all and I'm considering pulling for cons on his rerun. 💙😌
I enjoyed his playstyle. Fast and effective. The only reason why I don't play him frequently is I have many DPS already that I enjoyed more and synergize to the characters I am building. But I'm waiting for his weapon or Alhaitham weapon to fully build him. And I consider both Childe and Ayato equal, since I have them both and after comparing their playstyle I can say there isn't really that much of a difference between them.
I spent on him my ayaka guarantee out of pure boredom. I never regretted getting him though. I highly value his versatility and flexibility, the fact I can fit him in almost every team that wants hydro. I don't like him as a character that much yet I never benched him for long periods of time. So, if you don't have other 5* hydro options I think he's extremely valuable

He was one of my "Accidentally got while building pity pulls" turns out I really liked his play style and he's been 36*ing abyss for me with Yae in what I call the Team Rocket team ever since.
I have never once felt disappointed that I pulled Ayato. He's satisfying to play, incredibly flexible, and so accessible for a mobile player like me. He's a delight and I am excited to try to get him his weapon this banner. I have a rule: gotta love you to give you your signature and I will only do that on your rerun. I enjoyed him right out of the box to such a degree that I nearly broke that rule right away.

There really isnt any as versatile DPS in game as Ayato and that is his main value. That you can roll for 4-5 different elements of DPS...OR...get 1 Ayato and you have almost all elements covered for abyss with just owning the basic 4*s. He works great with Fischl, Sucrose, Xianling and even DMC so he is almost a cheatcode as since I have him I never feel pressured to roll for certain characters coz I know that Ayato has it covered.
Appreciate the FTP friendly build section so very much because I had no idea what weapon to give him (my sword catalog is very bad and I couldn't find one I had on the guides I was looking at)
I have and use Kokomi and want another hydro user so as an ayato lover it's a must pull! I don't have raiden so yes thats a tough choice but I have so many electro users and honestly my teams are doing good
I've always wanted him because his potential as a dps is just bonkers. Got insanely lucky and got him today, so I'm super excited to get him leveled and finally have good hydro dps :)
Ayato is the only character on my account to get a crown so far. I like that hes not burst dependant so hes great for overworld but that his burst delivers when you want off field application to be able to set up reactions and then you can use him as a driver to boot. His e's aoe is deceptively large so he performs great in aoe but the strikes are good enough to stand up in single target. Hes a great one stop shop. Glad hes finally getting a rerun so more people have a chance to get him 😊

For players who plans to pull for Ayato, I say go for it. I pulled for him during his banner release even though I'm a Childe fan boy. He has the most perfectly balanced kit in my opinion. Also I play both of them in Spiral Abyss, Childe International Vape Team on the 1st half then Ayato Hyperbloom Team on the 2nd half. 🤩👍🏻💧🌸⚔️
I pulled Ayato from his debut banner and got his Weapon after losing to the Elegy & Aquila Favonia. I loved using this man for my initial taser team but when Dendro came out is when I felt he got his true calling. Man's such an effective driver for Hyperbloom teams. Him, Yelan/Xingqiu, Kuki, and Collei/DMC is such a fantastic team. His damage is a bit on the low side but that doesn't matter to me because of his sheer utility.
Man, i love my ayato. I have him in full glad set. Didn't even realized that I was done with his artifacts since i have lots of gladiator anyway. Easiest character build i ever done. Combined with Zhongli shield, it's easily 20k per shing. I love him so much. Have him triple crowned just bc i love him too much
he’s worth getting if you really like his character design. In terms of power, He’s just as good as Ganyu with his flexibility and his strength in vaporize and dendro teams.
i find him really solid and balanced honestly. He’s not a must pick at all or like overpowered but if you have him on your account, it’s hard not to use him actually. I dont consider his team my main but ayato makes dailies super easy and quick, with just his skill alone. I pulled for him because of his aesthetics and skill effects and i dont regret it bcs he has potential to carry your account.
While I have a lot of meta characters, I tend to gravitate towards using Ayato in abyss to 36* every time. He is easy to build, easy to play and honestly I am yet to encounter an abyss where he is useless since he has so many team options. He is basically a goldmine for casual players coz he is a great DPS already with veery little time investment and doesnt really require any 5* character to shine. On the other hand as a Childe haver I must say that Childe´s international is amazing, but it aint for casuals and you do need a Kazuha to make it worth the investment.
Ayato's greatest strength is his quality of life, he plays well with all teamcomps! 1. Vape- National (ER friendly, constant damage output even during offfield rotation) 2. Freeze- Morgana (Quadratic scaling on his burst) 3. Taser- Beidou (unlike Raiden, his hold e constantly triggers beidou's burst) 4. Bloom- E & Burst constantly triggers bloom, hitting multiple enemies each slash
So glad when I got Ayato during his first rerun. I discovered how fast his skill attacks are during the Vibro-Crystal event in the chasm. I paired him with Ganyu, Kazuha, and Jean (C2) 😊
he may not be strongest like xingqiu or yelan or even childe in national comp. but his versatility makes him so worth it. you can literally fit him in any team comp, and he will do dmg regardless
Been an Ayato main since his first banner. Do not regret pulling on his banner personally heck I argue he is better than Hu Tao but that might be my bias.
Ayato has been my best DPS character for abyss since i got him. Super reliable, very easy to use and its nice that his AOE attacks will usually hit flying/hovering enemies. Really can't complain about him at all.
this might be random but will you do a review of the new inazuman 4 star sword? I'm kinda curious to know on how it compares to the other swords and how viable it is to use to some of the characters
The TLDR of it is that it's basically a free Iron Sting that doesn't cost you 5 billets. It does have a fun aestetic too though (iron sting is one of the most boring looking swords in the game imo). It's slightly stronger than Iron Sting in single target, and slightly weaker in AoE. Both are generally inferior to Xiphos' Moonlight unless used on a main-DPS character.
i love using childe bc of his riptide and burst but i bring ayato way more often in abyss esp f12 😂 ez and fast shing shing without thinking but having both is just great cuz i can bring either depends on my mood 😁
I got lucky with my Ayato pull, getting him within 3 pulls of the banner change and well under pity limit (on the banner guarantee after losing 50/50 before though). I slotted him into my existing Thoma burgeon team at level 60 with some convenient mainstat Gladiator set I had and he was already doing exactly what I needed. Thoma’s damage was the main winner here but the amount of times I was triggering bloom was just ridiculous…I’m just all on the bloom train currently and Ayato makes it so easy to do

Same bruh. Never has even a ounce of regret pulling him. Ayato just too versatile. Although he is not dealing high burst damage but his consistency, versatility and semi quick swap gameplay make really ez to slide him in every team compt. But personally i just play him with kuki hyperbloom since his E and burst can help a lot in hyperbloom team.

I never regretted pulling for Ayato. He's the third character in my entire account to get a crown (I crowned his skill) and I really enjoy using him from time to time... It's also really fun to count how many slashes you can dish out, at least for me :)

Exact same for me as well. He was something of an accident going for Yun Jin cons last time, but as I started using him he quickly became my favorite hydro on-fielder for how incredibly useful and flexible he is. Before I knew it he was one of my most well built characters and he was the 4th character to recieve a crown on my account (Ganyu, Raiden and Ayaka were before him. And actually I crowned Yoimiya on the same day).
Ayato is always in my Abyss teams eversince I got him. My man used to be in a soup team with Benny, Fischl and Kazu but now he's exclusively in hyperbloom Kuki team

Him being Hydro makes a difference. I have benched many DPSes but not him since I can practically use him anywhere especially with new units. Plus his attacks in overworld are enough to clear small fights without having to use full rotations. I use him on my dailies to carry unbuilt characters for namecards because he can make use almost any supports in the game. He is super beginner friendly
I also use him for my friendship team lol. His hydro skill is just so convenient that he can carry the unbuilt characters easily.
This is so true. Abyss only resets twice a month, you can use your meta pulls then. But Ayato’s convenience makes him so valuable in the daily game battles plus he’s pleasing to the eyes. I never got tired of looking at him haha
@yaaaan he’s one of the characters that’s prettier in game while there are characters who are meh in game but great at official arts, his sister is the best example of it. She’s pretty but the front view just destroys her and that bowl bangs 😭 I have too much saved photo of Ayato in game. I can’t stop taking photos of him everywhere

This. I agree that the hydro part really makes him feels more valuable than most units. He might be not the greatest or the strongest option for a hydro fps, but his versatility and ease to play is very appreciated from beginner to late game players.
I've used ayato as a hyper carry, driver, and off field hydro application support. He's so flexible and a quality pull. His ER passive is so underrated since if you use him off field and give him an ER weapon, his burst is almost always ready again
Yep. His burst seriously does not feel like its 80 cost, more like 60. It also lasts forever (18seconds)
Yes, I run him at about 128 er and don't have any problems with getting my burst up.
Ayato is such a simple and reliable character who delivers results. He'll never be the absolute best hydro unit for a team, but he's a close second for so many teams. The value especially here is that it frees up that critical hydro character in the other team
yeah I built 1 Ayato, 1 Ayaka, 1 Xiao and i can 36* every abyss, mainly coz Ayato has so many f2p frendly teams that no matter what the abyss throws at me, Ayato cna deliver.
Yeah. Hydro is so versatile that there's is no bad 5 star hydro to pull. Childe still have one of the strongest team. Kokomi is the best healer with consistent hydro. Ayato is a solid pick for any team that need a hydro. Yelan is yelan. And mona is still good on freeze and damage per screenshot team
He's the best hydro for Hyperbloom in AoE, like by far. Childe's cooldowns don't lineup bc the team has no downtime and XQ/Yelan are ST so falloff hard per target (see curent 12-3-2)

@@Aremder I disagree once you get 2-3 dps and a healthy amount of support, I find that at least getting the weapons on the dps can greatly improve your account. I have Hu tao, Raiden and Ayaka and the only character I really want is Yelan, but I'm trying my luck on Raiden's weapon so I can free the catch for xiangling. Hopefully i have enough for Homa later as well.

She just has no place in my teams, if I want to run national I just get Childe.
Ayato being a hydro dps will grow stronger as time goes on and as new characters gets released that synergies with the element. But the same goes for every other hydro 5 star.
If your hydro roaster is quite empty, you won't regret pulling for him.

What I LOVE about Ayato is that he easily fits into so many teams. Vaporize, electro-charged, freeze, hypercarry, and everything bloom related. Well, this advantage applies to most hydro damage dealers but Ayato is just so easy to use that he always becomes my first pick in either over world and the abyss.
Ayato is my highest investment when it comes to artifacts because he just deletes the abyss and has so many team comps to fit your needs. First I got him as a burst support for Ganyu freeze and then he transitioned to the DPS of the soup team.
A double crown later, changing from mistsplitter to jade cutter and now he's sitting at 89.9/224 crit. Just a casual 4 piece gladiator that was strongboxed over time but man his potential is sky high
I thank Ayato's ease of use in combat for preventing my hands from developing carpal tunnel with how you can just hold down his E skill for its entire duration instead of thinking too hard about attack combo strings eheh. Got my first 36 star Abyss clears ever since his debut and I've always enjoyed how flexible and chill his teams can get! Bubble tea idle/ 10.
Not only Ayato is a well balanced on-field DPS character, he's also a beginner-friendly unit. Plus after using his skill, his normal attack is very satisfying to use.
Pulled for him at his debut. One of the easiest characters to play and can fit into almost any comp. Soup is fun AF)

I made the decision to pull for him even before his kit reveal simply bc i simp but honestly he’s extremely easy to build, extremely easy to play that I don’t regret it at all. I have used Ayato in every abyss cycle since I got him, I love using him with Kazuha (Or Venti), Yunjin and Zhongli, but I have also used him on a taser team as well as new bloom based reaction teams and he never lets me down. I also have Childe who I use in International team because Childe is more optimal there but overall I prefer Ayato. Ayato may not seem strong on the surface but he attacks very fast and his numbers add up in the end, plus he is very flexible.
He was one of those “impulse/appearance” wise pull of mine but he is actually not just good looking but also a good hydro dps/sub dps. Definitely a must pull 💕

But if you are using his hypercarry(Bennet+Yunjin+Kazuha) You can reach 25-30K per Normal atk easily So 15*30K per skill. But his skill has Quadratic scaling so he works much better in AOE than on single target.
@@dip5766 Caveat: His burst, like ganyu's, has limited quadratic scaling. after 4 grouped enemies, the scaling is only linear. it's still quite good for AoE, but it's not childe riptide level scaling (though obviously, as an off-field hydro, he way outdoes childe unless you have c4 childe)
@@MOG2024 he's raw damage is 8.5k_ 11k he deals around 20k_25k with Bennet and zhongli and xianling but he's main roll is applying hydro for bloom reactions and vaporize so it's okey if he isn't dealing too much damage
My favorite Ayato's freeze team is with XQ and Chonyun ( the passive adds speed to Ayato's attacks, 1-2 extra slashes). I have added Layla just for friendship farm and is amazingly synergistic to play with. best of luck to all Ayato wanters!
Actually Chongyun's passive does give .5 to 1 extra slash depending on your ping. If its above 40-50 ping its not worth to put Chongyun.
@@NikolasThane i have an average of 100 ping and i can squish 1-2 extra ( 15-16 instead of the regular 14) slashes for Ayato, paired with Chonyun. :) I forgot: Jean c2 is also an excellent companion for Ayato, so losing a 50/50 to Jean doesn't feel too bad, lol.

@@NikolasThane the ping doesn't affect as much as fps in the game. if you play on pc 30 fps try lower it to 24. you can feel the different from there.
ping will not affect much for hitlag unless you have 229ms (red) or higher but affect the dmg accumulation that lead to waste your time in abyss(usually 3-5 second )
i usually have 76-112 ms and my main are yoimiya and ayato so it's ok
Thanks for the nuanced answer that you give to help me come to the correct decision. Everyone praises Raiden Shogun for how good she is and because she's an Archon, and I understand why because she really is that good. However, I already have 2 powerful electro units (Yae Miko and Fischl), and are lacking in the hydro department. I also needed a good DPS. So with my situation in mind, and thanks to this video, I'm definitely gonna go with Ayato.
Ayato was the second 5 star I pulled hard for after I started playing earlier this year. He has carried me through so much of this game. I use him in spiral abyss a lot too. I also pulled Childe on his recent rerun and while he is fun, I still find myself going back to Ayato for the most part, especially when I want to use burgeon team. I use Childe for large mobs with electro/cryo units but Ayato for mostly everything else.
I have both Ayato and Childe, don't regret getting them. Ayato is more comfortable and can be in many team comps, some not needing Bennett. While Childe needs a bit more skill, awareness (xiangling burst ready? too long on field? etc) and Bennett. Bennett is one busy boy.
I hate meticulous mechanic tbh. Cos u need to spend irl time learn and train to use. That why i like ayato mindless playstyle more. irl work and raising kids already hard enough for me to focus and trying to spend time to learn meticulous mechanic.
Well for people who have many time to waste ofc they enjoy using childe more. Like full fledge game streamer who can speand 8-16hr gaming daily basis childe mechanic is not a problem. But for me who only spend 30min to 1 hour daily. Ayato is far better in every aspects.
Childe's fighting style is sick. Those melee attacks are so satisfying to look at. It's sadge I lost my 50/50 and didn't get Childe. I'm quite new to the game so even though he's known as the rerun archon, I really want another chance to pull for him. But I guess that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
I'm just a low-spender, borderline f2p. But Genshin is my first time when I experienced this moment where I can't just save up and buy what I want. I need to wait for a long while now for the rerun.
Ik that's the point of Gatcha - "you don't know when your character might return so spend money now!" But I'm still looking at Childe's gameplay - thinking man, I want that - and then just not be able to do anything about it.
This is not Gatcha fomo - this is just dissatisfaction with the game. I'm not gonna spend more money then I already do on this game, because I physically can't and there's no point cause when I will be able to - my character isn't there.
I guess the only people who have this complaint are the ones who don't care about most characters and only want soecific ones, or the ones that already have most characters save a few.
Tbh i’m at the same spot as you now. i love the “complex” and satisfying gameplay of childe and his character design, but since i was a new player that started around the end of his banner it makes me annoyed that i will have to wait for at least half a year… so mainwhile im considering to pull for ayato instead which also seems cool

One of my favourite characters and most satisfactory pulls. Love using this guy with Zhong, Xingqiu and Kazuha. Feels so fluid, reliable and effective. A really simple rotation too.
Out of all my dps, Ayato is the only one I have 3-4 different, strong abyss teams for. He never gets boring!
I got both ayato n childe. I really love them conquering abyss both first half n second half 😋💕
Ayato’s almost never left my abyss team. He’s just so perfectly balanced and he goes with any team. He’s not crazy game-changing amazing damage-wise (I’m at C0 R1 Harran with a 80-180 CR:CD ratio with 120 ER using a 4pc HoD) unlike the typical DPS carries but he’s so flexible to a point that he’ll go with whatever team you put him in. Worth a pull in my book!
For those pulling him, I highly suggest Vape, Electro, Hyperbloom, Freeze and Ayato Hyper Carry (with Yunjin, Xingqui and Zhongli). But I use him in a mono-Hydro team with Yelan, Xingqui and Kokomi/Kazuha just for the shts and giggles but it still clears the abyss and does the job 💙

This video is still fresh, good job! Ayato lost even more weight with Nauvilette's coming on stage but other new characters and sets kept him somewhat still enjoyable.
I have both Ayato and Yelan and I use Ayato a lot more due to his better flexibility and ease of use. Yelan gets a lot of hype but honestly if you have xingqiu c6, Ayato is a much better pull for an f2p or low spending account because he brings something different with main DPS capabilities and larger AOE
I accidentally got Ayato while pulling for Xiangling cons and it was the best accident to ever happen. I use him to clear the abyss every time. Be it vape, taser, freeze or hyperbloom, Ayato can easily perform very well. Such a dependable and versatile unit.

Trying to resist because Alhaitham. But dang I really want to combine his burst with Ganyu's, and slap one of the drippiest swords on him (Black Sword or Kazuha'd cursed sword)
In practice they have very different teams. Childe isn't as good in hyperbloom or soup, Ayato isn't as good in international. You can also easily use them both.
I have both (accidentally pulled ayato instead of venti) but ayato isn’t as good as childe in international so I use him in hyper bloom. They don’t share supports so it’s good for me. Although I don’t play ayato a lot he’s still pretty versatile

Pull for him. He’s been my main ever since his first banner! I do change up sometimes but I always go back to him.
Ayato has been a great pull for me. I hadn’t realized just how necessary he is for my roster until I realized a lot of times I would need a hydro character or a DPS to fill a role and I look and bam there he is filling both (I don’t have/want Childe, and I switched my Mona from DPS build to Emblem Nuke).
He also can be used as a burst because it’s so easy to throw out and get SO much utility from. He fits in most teams and with most supports (Xingqiu/Yelan/Xiangling/Yunjin/VENTI) and isn’t hard to build or use.
Definitely one of the best designed characters in the game.
Ayato and Yoimiya are a good pair to pull for players who enjoyed the Easy E life.

He’s probably the best of the “balanced” characters in the game. Besides being easy to play.
I first regretted pulling for him, thinking he wasn't strong enough. But with time he was just good enough to consolidate many teams and attacks in a big enough AoE making him great for that.
Ever since I pulled Ayato I was able to finish hard contents of the game (I only started playing this year) esp spiral abyss where he is always on my team. I played around with different team comps and after the dendro release, I more enjoyed using him with hyperbloom and now building my Thoma for burgeon. I have other main dps like Ganyu, Ayaka, Raiden and now Wanderer but he will always be my go-to main character. So yes he is worth it to pull and invest!

Quick answer: Raiden is worth pulling. Sevy mentions her toward the end of this video, and has another video from a while ago that still applies.
Long answer: she's never been not worth pulling. Versatile as a sub dps and battery, solid main dps at c0, broken at c2. Easy to use. Can use The Catch (f2p weapon). Build her for ER for dps, or EM for hyperbloom.
i recently started playing with my ayato again because i finally got some good artifacts for him and i forgot how much fun he was he also works in so many team comps
Personally I really love his ultimate skill AoE (with other cryo characters and espeically Ayaka, this is a lot of fun). I think he's just as helpful as Kokomi consistently applying hydro dmg and his elemental skill has a really fast cooldown. If you stack enough hp and atk on him, all you do is hold to win.
The worst thing about pulling for Ayato doesnt even have to do with Ayato. He's on at the same time as Raiden, and Yelan's rerun is coming 3.4, so he's sandwiched between the literal 2 best characters in the game.

@@Ivy-jq6di waifu appeal is always greater than male characters. Hydro is the most versatile element irrespective of whether it is Ayato Yelan or Childe. Ayato in my opinion has the biggest bonus that his major chunk of dmg comes from E and not from Q so you can build him easily

I already had Childe, but I couldn't resist pulling for Ayato after running his trial. I often run Childe international on one side of the Abyss and Kamisato freeze on the other side with Ayato and Ayaka. I don't regret pulling for him at all and I'm considering pulling for cons on his rerun. 💙😌
I enjoyed his playstyle. Fast and effective. The only reason why I don't play him frequently is I have many DPS already that I enjoyed more and synergize to the characters I am building. But I'm waiting for his weapon or Alhaitham weapon to fully build him. And I consider both Childe and Ayato equal, since I have them both and after comparing their playstyle I can say there isn't really that much of a difference between them.
I spent on him my ayaka guarantee out of pure boredom. I never regretted getting him though. I highly value his versatility and flexibility, the fact I can fit him in almost every team that wants hydro. I don't like him as a character that much yet I never benched him for long periods of time. So, if you don't have other 5* hydro options I think he's extremely valuable

I have never once felt disappointed that I pulled Ayato. He's satisfying to play, incredibly flexible, and so accessible for a mobile player like me. He's a delight and I am excited to try to get him his weapon this banner. I have a rule: gotta love you to give you your signature and I will only do that on your rerun. I enjoyed him right out of the box to such a degree that I nearly broke that rule right away.

There really isnt any as versatile DPS in game as Ayato and that is his main value. That you can roll for 4-5 different elements of DPS...OR...get 1 Ayato and you have almost all elements covered for abyss with just owning the basic 4*s. He works great with Fischl, Sucrose, Xianling and even DMC so he is almost a cheatcode as since I have him I never feel pressured to roll for certain characters coz I know that Ayato has it covered.
Appreciate the FTP friendly build section so very much because I had no idea what weapon to give him (my sword catalog is very bad and I couldn't find one I had on the guides I was looking at)

My favorite roll for Ayato is on Hyperbloom. He makes the team even more AoE , and easy to use.

Ayato is the only character on my account to get a crown so far. I like that hes not burst dependant so hes great for overworld but that his burst delivers when you want off field application to be able to set up reactions and then you can use him as a driver to boot. His e's aoe is deceptively large so he performs great in aoe but the strikes are good enough to stand up in single target. Hes a great one stop shop. Glad hes finally getting a rerun so more people have a chance to get him 😊

For players who plans to pull for Ayato, I say go for it. I pulled for him during his banner release even though I'm a Childe fan boy. He has the most perfectly balanced kit in my opinion. Also I play both of them in Spiral Abyss, Childe International Vape Team on the 1st half then Ayato Hyperbloom Team on the 2nd half. 🤩👍🏻💧🌸⚔️

I pulled Ayato from his debut banner and got his Weapon after losing to the Elegy & Aquila Favonia. I loved using this man for my initial taser team but when Dendro came out is when I felt he got his true calling. Man's such an effective driver for Hyperbloom teams. Him, Yelan/Xingqiu, Kuki, and Collei/DMC is such a fantastic team. His damage is a bit on the low side but that doesn't matter to me because of his sheer utility.
Man, i love my ayato. I have him in full glad set. Didn't even realized that I was done with his artifacts since i have lots of gladiator anyway. Easiest character build i ever done. Combined with Zhongli shield, it's easily 20k per shing. I love him so much. Have him triple crowned just bc i love him too much

he’s worth getting if you really like his character design. In terms of power, He’s just as good as Ganyu with his flexibility and his strength in vaporize and dendro teams.
i find him really solid and balanced honestly. He’s not a must pick at all or like overpowered but if you have him on your account, it’s hard not to use him actually. I dont consider his team my main but ayato makes dailies super easy and quick, with just his skill alone. I pulled for him because of his aesthetics and skill effects and i dont regret it bcs he has potential to carry your account.
While I have a lot of meta characters, I tend to gravitate towards using Ayato in abyss to 36* every time. He is easy to build, easy to play and honestly I am yet to encounter an abyss where he is useless since he has so many team options. He is basically a goldmine for casual players coz he is a great DPS already with veery little time investment and doesnt really require any 5* character to shine. On the other hand as a Childe haver I must say that Childe´s international is amazing, but it aint for casuals and you do need a Kazuha to make it worth the investment.

Ayato's greatest strength is his quality of life, he plays well with all teamcomps!
1. Vape- National (ER friendly, constant damage output even during offfield rotation)
2. Freeze- Morgana (Quadratic scaling on his burst)
3. Taser- Beidou (unlike Raiden, his hold e constantly triggers beidou's burst)
4. Bloom- E & Burst constantly triggers bloom, hitting multiple enemies each slash
I don't regret pulling for him the first time, I'm going for Raiden in the second half but I'll still see if I can get his C1 because that's my boo
So glad when I got Ayato during his first rerun. I discovered how fast his skill attacks are during the Vibro-Crystal event in the chasm. I paired him with Ganyu, Kazuha, and Jean (C2) 😊
I love Ayato's design and playstyle so much I triple crowned him, hahaha. He's the only one so far. Things mighy change if I get Alhaitham 😁
he may not be strongest like xingqiu or yelan or even childe in national comp. but his versatility makes him so worth it. you can literally fit him in any team comp, and he will do dmg regardless
Been an Ayato main since his first banner. Do not regret pulling on his banner personally heck I argue he is better than Hu Tao but that might be my bias.

Ayato has been my best DPS character for abyss since i got him. Super reliable, very easy to use and its nice that his AOE attacks will usually hit flying/hovering enemies. Really can't complain about him at all.
If i didn’t have well-invested childe, i would surely get ayato. i’m trying to get one DPS per element.
this might be random but will you do a review of the new inazuman 4 star sword? I'm kinda curious to know on how it compares to the other swords and how viable it is to use to some of the characters
The TLDR of it is that it's basically a free Iron Sting that doesn't cost you 5 billets. It does have a fun aestetic too though (iron sting is one of the most boring looking swords in the game imo). It's slightly stronger than Iron Sting in single target, and slightly weaker in AoE. Both are generally inferior to Xiphos' Moonlight unless used on a main-DPS character.
Of all 5* DPS of every elements i have in the game i always use ayato from 2.6 till now(3.3) for abyss and Taser team is my favorite for him :).
i love using childe bc of his riptide and burst but i bring ayato way more often in abyss esp f12 😂 ez and fast shing shing without thinking but having both is just great cuz i can bring either depends on my mood 😁
I got lucky with my Ayato pull, getting him within 3 pulls of the banner change and well under pity limit (on the banner guarantee after losing 50/50 before though). I slotted him into my existing Thoma burgeon team at level 60 with some convenient mainstat Gladiator set I had and he was already doing exactly what I needed. Thoma’s damage was the main winner here but the amount of times I was triggering bloom was just ridiculous…I’m just all on the bloom train currently and Ayato makes it so easy to do
Pulled him in the first banner and got his weapon in 3.3 and now I can say I am fully happy with my ayato

Ayato has been my main dps since i got him , even after getting Childe (my first hydro crush) he is still my best dps and i love how he is so strong and elegant at the same time. 🌊❤️🥰😍
Also love putting in the same team his his husband (Thoma) hehehe just because i love them.
