    I know a area that has probably about six, seven homes abandoned. The chemical company had a leakage of a chemical and the ground water was contaminated. It was cheaper to buy people out of their homes than to bring city water to them because they lived so far out in the country. They also had to clean up the underground water, which would take several years. One home was fairly large and newly built. It could be something like this why these houses are abandoned.

    I liked this type of video and “walking” along with you. Shocking how a whole neighborhood is just abandoned and houses left to rot. I wonder if you are ever concerned about happening upon someone in any of the houses you explore? The second house you could’ve skipped and saved breathing in mold spores. I thought most of the houses were in decent shape and surprised no one has tried to take anything out of them. Do be careful! The birds singing helped make everything seem more normal, if that makes sense. Thank you for showing us!

    Hi Ethan I like the first house, basement looked nice too and all so clean. wow I have never seen so much mold as in the 2nd house. I like the layout of the 3rd house and the glass front kitchen cabinets. I love the staircase in the 4th, nice little house. The brick house is nice, like the kitchen. It looked bigger on the outside. The 6th was pretty big and I liked the drive, fountain and fireplace. # 7 nothing exciting.....The last house (#8) was nice. Kinda weird having the police tape in a couple of them. I liked seeing this many explores at once! Thanks!!

  • @Avotts
    @Avotts 2 года назад +6

    WOW. House #1 was move in ready. I thought it was just 1 story and was gonna say I wish a house mover would bring it to me. But then there is truly a seconfd house downstairs.
    House #2...I wonder if these houses were made with the Chinese wallboard. The Coast here in MS had a huge problem with being used after Katrina.
    House #3 I liked the different style. It looked like it had a basement. Wish we could have seen it. That large bath made me think it was designed for someone using a wheelchair.
    House #4 looked nice outside with the side porch entry. Too small. Shame the basement was flooded.
    House #5...The red brick house looks to be from the 60s. Seems like it may have been the 1st one on the street.
    House #6...Absolutely love the outdoor details. Was expecting more inside. But I really dig the retro vibe. When I was much younger would have bought it in a heartbeat. Looked to have ganeroom or more living spave above the garage.
    House #7...Oh well didnt see much.
    House #8...I like it...Nice big kitchen. Would liked to have seen the basement...just curious if it was a den or bedrooms.

    About the third house. Have you ever noticed when a house is on the way down quite often the owners will attempt bright colors, each room a different primary shade? I guess it's to cheer themselves up because the house is in worsening shape and they can't afford to fix it up.

  • @OldLadyInFL

    Sounds like there is a major highway close by. Sometimes, here in the states, the state itself will buy up houses along frontage roads to maintain space to build needed exits as the area develops. In that case, they will rezone it commercial or industrial and taxes will soar, so people will take their offer and move out. Developers will do this too, if they know a major exit is being built off of a highway, and land is being rezoned. Sometimes, people just can't stand the highway noise and will abandon their houses. Sometimes the highway building itself contaminates groundwater. I was struck by how clean these houses were left, like they expected someone else to move in. Usually, abandoned houses are a mess, especially if there was some catastrophe like contaminated groundwater or something. I'm sure if you checked the title of one of the houses, they either were bought up by the state or developers.
