From what i gather, the 21 tech will get you more goals on long range charged shots, taking full advantage of the tech curves. But a build with better shooting will likely get more goals off rebounds, crosses and uncharged shots being naturally faster and stronger
Thanks for all the battle league content, I'm really enjoying it. I wanted to mention that the confidence interval for this type of score/not score analysis is p +/- 1.96 * sqrt (p*(1-p)/n) where p is the sample probability of scoring and n is the number of shots. When I do the calculation for p=0.54 and n=50 I start with 0.54 +/- 1.96 * sqrt(0.54*0.46/50). My conclusion is that I'm 95% confident that the true probability of scoring from the center circle with Rosalina's 20 Shooting & 19 Technique Gear is between 40.9% and 67.8%. I might try a similar analysis with more trials on my own, but feel free to comment back if you're interested in teaming up to pool data.
It’s tough finding a build. I find Rosalina extremely slow/sluggish with this build. A speedy peach with high tech can get in position easily and get sone nutty curves and goals from whack angles. Downside is you need to get in good position because you lack shooting with that build. Tough… still trying to find my builds
I have a suggestion for you regarding a gear setup for Rosalina. Trick Helmet, Turbo Gloves, Trick Pad, and Bushido Sandals. This setup provides 9 strength, 15 speed, 16 shooting, 7 passing, and 16 techinque. A fairly well-rounded build overall, with shooting and technique having the same values, as well as speed coming right behind them. But bear in mind she won't be too good of a passer or tackler.
With Rosalina, you don’t want to have her carry the ball across the field. What I find most effective is carrying downfield with peach and once Rosa is in a good position, lob bass it to her for a perfect shot.
@@thebwahboi7616 That is true, but Toad technically does the same thing with a slightly higher passing stat without sacrificing any speed. Just something to note. His passes are a little more reliable than Peach's.

Here is what I use in my Donkey Kong. Head - Muscle Helmet Arms - Chain Gauntlets Body - Bushido Armor Legs - Bushido Sandals This give him a good amount of speed and great strength to tackle the strongest builds. He also has great passing. The only downsides are his shooting and technique, but he isn't going to be shooting anyways because he will be defending so you won't be using him for shooting. You will be using him for his defensive power and great passing ability. Give it a try! :)

@@skycaboose Yeah I would say waluigi is a midfielder, I usually use him as mid and then DK as a defender. My team right now is Rosa (stricker/forward), Toad (midfielder), waluigi (midfielder), DK (defence), this has been working out well for me. I have a max speed toad 25/25 with 10 strength and he still has 10/25 shooting and passing so thats decent. Cause without the extra strength toad just feels really weak and I think having speed on the wings is super good, hence the waluigi. I sometimes go with a waluigi with no gear or just a tech helmet and speed gloves. Idk what's best yet. Still a lot of testing that needs to be done. But I think Rosa is a must have in every lineup, so is waluigi

Try: Head "-", Arms "Bushido", Chest "Cannon", Leg "Bushido". I know that sounds odd. 10,12,17,8,16. You can add a trick Helmet if you want the added Tech. I played a 10 minute match against easy computer, got off 73 full charge shots from center line, only had 5 completely missed shots, ended up with a score of 49. I think the Shooting stat is tiered and the Technique stat is effected by the gap between the two stats. I didn't see much of a difference between this setup (Shoot-17 Tech-16), Shoot-17 Tech-18, Shoot-20 Tech-19, or Shoot-18 Tech-21 as far as accuracy. All had about the same results.
After further testing, feels like Shooting and Technique have tier levels. I notice a bit more of a difference in how the ball flys after passing certain values (even by 1 point). Feels like it goes by multiple of 4. 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25. I saw this difference most using Luigi and Rosalina. If you set Luigi’s shooting to 11, you can see how much the ball curves. And with a 25, it seems the ball likes to land in Boom boom’s box then bounce in the goal (Luigi disrespecting the goalie). In fact, with shooting at 11, a Technique of 21 seems to score more often. I started noticing a few complete missed shots between 17-20 (about 5%) and even more between 12-16 (about 10%). Technique also seems to be more useful for the long shots, much like you showed with the combo-shots.
As a rosa fan I approve of these tests I love when she's in games. Especially love the fact they made a new super chargers game and added all the new favorites

Huh wow I was already using this exact build way before watching this video. Mostly because I found technique to be more useful in ranged shots but still wanted some power in the shot in case I need another character to rebound.
Love the testing! My take on shooting vs tech is that both can help with different scenarios. I see shooting more useful on first touch tap shots as it can knock the goalkeeper down or possibly sneak past them while they adjust with the ball. Charged shots seem to be a combo of both stats but lean on tech for more success. I think as the game evolves players will abuse passing/shooting vs right now I see more charged shots
I tested this with the best Rosalina build possible except the AI would function but on Easy difficulty. I had only 6 less shots and scored 5 more goals. 36/44 which was 20% more than you. She's even more broken than one would think. I sent you the proof in your instagram dms dude. Especially with that sweet spot, she's very likely to ace it in
I think that people use Rosalina wrong as a striker. Put her in the midfield and another power forward as striker (Captain Bowser build is what I use). Rosalina's build that you use here makes her a menace from long distance, and midfielders get more opportunities for long range shots. This allows you to maximize your scoring potential with a power forward you can cross balls into and a shooting ace in the wing for cheesy goals. I use the build you use here. If you use her a forward who will be doing more close range shots; I think shooting builds over technique may be better but haven't tested.
well now there's Birdo who's an even greater sniper that MUST be tested. you should definitely get at least 65 if not 70% with 22 technique and shooting
So here is my question, so we have established which build is best overall. However, not everyone on the team can have BOTH shooting and technique…so my question is as follows, if I have a character with ONLY high technique or ONLY high shooting are there locations around the goal that a particular attribute will score more from? I guess what I’m trying to say is if I have a character like say Luigi and I have max technique but low shooting, will I perform better shots from the wings?
I covered this in my shooting vs technique video, but basically if you max either one they will perform about the same. Shooting is much more effective for one-time shots and will knock out more often. Technique will curve around the goalie from farther, seemingly unaffected by low shooting. So yes, Luigi can make shots from far out or on the sides with high technique and low shooting. So can Peach.
With the stat technique you can dodge better right? How is that in combination with speed stats. Will that matter? How much difference is the passing stats (especially manual pass)
Dude, could you try Mario with Different builds?. Like the 17 Shooting and 22 technique build. This one has also 10 or 11 speed which is nice. I think Mario is slept on by the community. Most of my goals are from Mario
I would be curious to have the complete dataset of your shots w/ rosa to see how reliable we can expect those estimates to be considering all the variables considered (stats, distance, charge, pass). It would make for a pretty fun logistic regression modeling problem.
Didn't you just say in a couple videos ago that every stat change only counts with 5 added stats. Only speed being an exclusion, but you're talking about 18 level stats. I'm very confused, but I probably missed something.
You mixed it up. His vid was the reverse. Speed was tiers of 5 not the rest. However that was wrong and speed is also linear and he updated the vid. Everything seems linear.

Why is everybody talking about op Rosalina but nobody mentioning Mario whose innate shooting and technique stats add up to 30 as well (same as Rosalina)?
In my latest tier list I wanted to make it clear Mario is also a monster. Rosalina has a slight edge because she can make more use of the technique Bushido bracers, but you're right they can both max out at 39 shooting + tech.
Tbh I think Rosalina is overrated somewhat. Sure, if you just need someone to stand in the opponent's field and take shots when open, she's obviously unparalleled, but in a majority of situations, her abysmal speed makes her a liability, *especially* when compared with Mario! Personally, for the Striker role, I recommend Mario with the Trick Helmet, Bushido Bracers, Cannon Plate, and Cannon Boots.

This will give more consistent results. Also, I don't see results for shot angles. You were using d-pad to test all shot angles and not just randomly kicking the ball, right?
this strikers game is really boring, it's a matter of shooting.. no self-pass, not optimal through pass on the walls to score, not cool abilities for each character, slow gameplay, etc. game for kids imo
agreed. after 3 days I already got burned out from playing. scoring is way too easy, happens too frequently and ruins the flow of the game. the perfect passes/shots etc. are too lenient imo
I didn't even buy it after trying the demo lol. Might get it sometime next year but thats when single player content is better although the gameplay ain't looking that great to me the more i see it. The gear system was a cool concept but it effectively isn't implemented well at all and the gameplay loop is about pleasing the ai audience so its about putting on the best show and boom boom's ai looks worse than kritter's which was already bad but i think the goalie sucking is also good at the same time except in Boom Boom's case. Also Battle League has self pass.

I’m not! There’s 13 strength and 10 speed which keeps me competitive against nearly any character. 20/15 shooting and technique is still lethal.

agreed. after 3 days I already got burned out from playing. scoring is way too easy, happens too frequently and ruins the flow of the game. the perfect passes/shots etc. are too lenient imo
you can do self-pass, you need manual controls for that
I didn't even buy it after trying the demo lol. Might get it sometime next year but thats when single player content is better although the gameplay ain't looking that great to me the more i see it. The gear system was a cool concept but it effectively isn't implemented well at all and the gameplay loop is about pleasing the ai audience so its about putting on the best show and boom boom's ai looks worse than kritter's which was already bad but i think the goalie sucking is also good at the same time except in Boom Boom's case. Also Battle League has self pass.
