Hi Talli Faye, I see you finally got another Kitchen Aid mixer. Congrats. You look satisfied. This is a delightful recipe. Could it be made ahead of time & freeze the dough? These are definitely light enough for the summer time, but it also sounds great for Christmas parties? And finally, your old red kitchen table & it's matching chairs brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me. My parents had the same setup in their kitchen. Lots of fun card games were played on it, plenty of art was thoughtfully created upon it, & many heart-to-heart talks unfolded around it. Oh & I dare not omit all the BBQ ribs eaten on it. The small size of cream cheese is 3 ounces. I buy if the store has any but often they don’t. My nephew loves these cookies and they have a long shelf life. I used to buy only unsalted butter, but it doesn’t stay fresh like the salted butter so I stopped buying it. Now I only use and stock salted butter. It doesn’t affect your recipes at all. You can eliminate the salt in that portion of the recipe or add just a pinch. I adore your kitchen table and chairs. I have flower gardens, but occasionally have a few things I plant in containers, mostly tomatoes. I fertilize them early on with bloom boost which is intended for flowers, but works great for veggies. More flowers equals more vegetables. Works great with tomatoes. I grow romaine and cherry and grape tomatoes, any variety of the tiny tomatoes. There’s a great sense of accomplishment to eat what you grow.

I usually put a can of Rotelle in my beans too along with onions and a ham bone or a ham hock. I made a Mississippi Pot Roast a couple of days ago. It always turns out delicious! Since I found that recipe I may never go back to regular pot roast again. We love it so much.

My brother and I would take a piece of the green on a green onion and use it for a straw in our sweet tea. Only with beans and cornbread. I'm 60 so it was many yrs ago 😂
I thought castor sugar was just regular granulated sugar. I guess you could mix powdered and granulated together and see if that works if you don't have a grinder.
