    Daryl Hall:
Speaking of Philadelphia....you know, I did some research....you know we're the only homegrown Philadelphia band that has been put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...you guys know that?
You know, I'm not saying that because I'm proud of that...I'm saying that cause it's FUCKED UP.
What happened to TODD RUNDGREN, THE STYLISTICS and THE DELFONICS, HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUE NOTES, LENNY BARRY, CHUBBY CHECKER????...How 'bout the biggest single in the history of the WORLD?....Chubby Checker...why isn't he in here, huh? You guys tell me.
Alright? So, I'm calling everybody OUT. There better be more PHILADELPHIA artists in this place, ok?
Alright, that's all I got to say. And I want to go play.

Sara Smile was next to Baby Come Back by Player (That Ronn Moss was in before playing Ridge Forrester #1) on The Bold & The Beautiful and Ambrosia's "How Much I Feel" one of the very few Songs by A White Artist played on a R & B Station in Ohio.

That was a great moment when John said that b/c we were all SO restless and pissed about how long the E-Street Band droned on and on....no one cared about all 47 members! Daryl's tantrum was EPIC when the sound system failed ONLY during their performance. Great evening!

@@bigtwit799I don't know if best is the right word. They should get credit for evolving with the times and becoming pop icons in the 80's. They had so many beautifully produced and timeless anthems in the 80's. The staying power of those songs is impressive. This hipster shit about success being bad is cringe. There are a lot of successful musicians that happen to be very good at their jobs.

People can't recognize good talent. It's all about the looks, T&A and controversy. Talent those days was genuine while the singers of today use methods to enhance and improve their singing such as Britney Spears and Katy Perry. Everyone can be a talentless celebrity today like Kim Kardashian but in those days you earned the right to be a star by true talent and it didn't matter what they looked like. True, it doesn't hurt to look at someone physically pleasing but, without a doubt, I'd choose to be entertained by someone who can act and sing over the other.

Daryl and John are simply the greatest. I'm glad to be born in 1968 because I remember all of Hall & Oates songs when they first made it to our FM radios. Daryl always did look good with shades on. I wonder if Daryl's eyes are too sensitive to light, or because of all those flashes of light from cameras that they are subjected to while out in public places as to why he wears sunglasses all the time. Keep on rockin!

@@jessebishop5239 Ofcourse they were paid! But no acknowledgement to any name. John gave a collective thank you to everybody.
And wrong. They did not write *all* their songs at all. Eg Private Eyes: chords by Daryl Hall. "That's a real Janna Allen song. Janna, and Warren Pash wrote that. Warren and Janna wrote most of the song, and I took it and changed the chords. Sandy (Sara Allen) wrote the lyrics."

@@gideonharris1493 they have had a ton of band members throughout the years, I didn’t expect them to name everyone. But you are right, they should have acknowledged GE Smith and Tom “T-Bone” Wolk without a doubt. But if you couldn’t tell Daryl was fed up with the whole thing. He wasn’t there to give a big speech and thank everybody. There are tons of legendary artists that don’t get inducted but so many lame ones that do.
Warren Pash kinda did get less credit then deserved on that song but Daryl still put the whole thing together. Of course they didn’t 100% write everything themselves. Most bands don’t, music is collaborative in nature.
Plus I don’t think you have your facts right, John Oates wrote Maneater and Daryl musically put the song together how we know it. Oates just this year released his original version of Maneater with a reggae arrangement. It’s awesome.
We are getting a little too hung up on who wrote what. Even the song credits don’t tell the whole story. There’s a reason they are the longest lasting and most successful duo in history…
