- Ever see those red potted spruce tree's at the home goods store during Christmas? Well I went through a bunch till I found one I liked - this is 5 years later. All work is done in January/ February on my spruce - Right in the middle of winter when the sap is not flowing. Repotting done after the last frost of winter.

I simply do Bonsai in parallel with my busy life as a way to relax and connect to nature. I approach bonsai with a very simple approach, simple tools, and just start working.
More updates to come, and thank you for watching.

Wow this video is doing great - Thank you so much! Any suggestions for the next video?
At 8:34 I noticed the gnome carved in the lower trunk. Thanks for the inspiration. I've had this little spruce I wired up once a few years ago, really not liking it finally going to make it into a dramatic little tree that I like!
Ha, I've not notice that - good catch! Good luck and I bet it'll be amazing!
Lovely tree, beautiful foliage!
Thank you! It's sporting it's winter colors but once spring comes it a very nice green.
Wonderful work on a difficult specimen. Thanks, keep growing
Thank you! I try and do the best I can.
I've been thinking about converting a Christmas tree since I started bonsai but never found a good opportunity. Thanks for sharing yours!
Sometimes you have to go through like 30 to find one - good luck!
Beautiful tree, and a wonderful approach to the styling and shape overall. The opposite wiring direction tip is a great one, thanks!
Thanks, yeah that way you can a lot of character to the branches as opposed to unsightly swelling
Great work on this. Looks very old!
Thank you! Still has a few years to go but it's getting there.
Man that looks great! Looks well aged!
Thanks! I've had it around 7 years - not sure how old it was when I bought it at home depot
@@givetanks I wish I didn't move so much I'd love to get back into keep some. Apartments are bonsai unfriendly sadly.
@@IndoorEcosystem Maybe a Ficus or schefflera in a big tank with bright light - I know I did that when I live in an apartment
@@givetanks I have a little ficus at the moment but you know how it is! One is never enough! 😅
@@IndoorEcosystem 10 isn't enough
Awesome!
Thank you! It's a species that get a bad wrap but it's just a matter a patience and a little know how
fantastic
Thank you! 😁

謝謝你!
Nice
Thank you!
Nicely proportioned bonsai. It would be cool to see this as a centerpiece for a forest grouping.
Thank you! That would be cool and maybe I'll have to look into that
joli
Thank you!
Good channel
Thank you! Means a lot to me
That tree looks a little rough. I have one planted in my back yard that still has all of its bark. I never decided to bonsai it. 🎄
The tree is very healthy, the dead part is done on purpose called a jin - it's to simulate great age in a high mountain tree
New subscriber Good luck
Thank you - I'll post an update come spring!
Exercise caution with the sharp blade of the knife.
Indeed - thank you!
