THE DRUM PICNIC

- I visit Drum in County Monaghan to check out the annual picnic at the Orange hall which follows the band parade.
Twenty three bands marched on the wet but bright night, coming mainly from Cavan and Monaghan, Fermanagh and Tyrone.
The rural parade was in stark contrast to the Belfast parades, nature was mellow not raucous, but no less up beat.

Great little Village ,past through it walking in 2010 i already knew of its culture .so i had to visit it .
Great wee parade there.
Every event goes off very peacefully without protesters or interference. Perhaps some people would have different views if they attended events without a hate mob. Might even enjoy themselves God forbid.
I think trouble stem from people living on top of one another. That problem doesn’t exist out in the countryside ✌️🇬🇧
Should do an update of this for this years picnic
Lovely stuff
As a half Irish ( Cavan nationalist on my mother's side ) Englishman I am very impressed by the Southern Loyalist 's restraint.
What do you mean by restraint? Cheers
So interesting well done Brian. Never been a fan of the orange order but I think I might understand it more as a southerners
Music both soundtrack and parade, is pish
you be joining the Orange soon Brian, alot of positive vids of late
Pity You had'nt been to Ballycastle where the verneer slipped & locals subjected to blood & thunder bile with a local Cllr assaulted.
Saw it parade was attacked and spat at
I am sure you have idiots in your community too
That's the difference. Protestants who are a minority in the Republic can express their culture with no fuss. Ballycastle is a Republican ghetto where they want to stop even local Orangemen marching on a few days in the year. Unionists and Fianna Fail and Fine Gael have something in common. We all hate Sinn Fein and their crass hypocricy.
@@WHU63 The orange parade's are about protestant supremacy, I'm totally fine with them marching but it's not "culture" just out of date beliefs.
@@o-o2399 The parade in the video is held in County Monaghan, Republic of Ireland. Protestants make up 3% of the population on Ireland. It's difficult to be a supremacist with those stats.
Not a black in sight. I support this.
omfg the weather, pure cancer
why would you think your in ni...are there only loyalist symbols up there...no republican ones...never a hunger strike....no Easter Parades or Catholic Lord Mayors of Belfast etc????Hahahah
@@spareemail2221 Yeah it would've be awesome without those boys.
Good man Mervyn and Ian
