As i get older it make more sense than cutting up all the fabric yourself, however they are very expensive especially in your fabric stores.I buy on line when there's a sale. I could never afford them from my local fabric shop.
@@cindypeace4166 It is a rare occasion that a layer cake isn't 10". If one measures it and you have to sew all the way to the peaks to make it 10", then the same would have been true for the charm packs as well because they use the same cutting system

It's more economical to buy a layer cake than to buy 3 or 4 charm packs and just cut it down yourself.
Unfortunately layer cakes are not always 10”
