Sleeping Beauty is such an enchantingly magical ballet. Whenever I hear the music, I am instantly transported to Princess Aurora's realm. I grew up listening to Tchaikovsky's music and it helps calm me down when I am stressed
Not only have I met Marianela & Vadim at a DVD signing at the ROH,I am also seeing a performance of The Sleeping Beauty this coming January. They will both be taking the lead roles. I am very,very fortunate to have such an opportunity :)
Well, Monica and Christopher I have to say that your idea to recreate this production with some obvious additions was quite simply a triumph - the best in the World, no contest. The Royal Ballet at its finest.
I love when Vadim dances and when you put him with Marionela that combination is unbeatable! Kristen NcNally is so, so great at her character roles! Thank you Miss Monica Mason for choosing this ballet! I love it!! Sometimes you put a whole ballet on You Tube for those of us who are in other countries, could you possibility let this production be shown on You Tube for us in it's entirity? I live in the United States and the chance of my going to London to see one of your productions in person will never happen! I especially loved seeing Liam Scarletts Swan lake that way and would love to see frankinstein also! If I were in London I would be at every performance you have! I love the Royal Ballet! Thank you for all that you do!

"Very bad" in what way????? If you can't make a valid point and just commenting "bad" at every talent that is not your personal favorite... you better try growing up first
Lol, you need to argument your points better, or one will think you just like push outstanding dancers down just because of your personal preferrences. Polunin can only wish to reach the control that Vadim has on his movements, and to be honest his technique goes forgotten very often for the sake of energy. As for Nunez, she has an amazing technique and unique acting abilities, the joy she puts in her movements is nowhere to be found when you watch Zakharova (at least since she has left Mariinsky: she may be technically perfect but her performances nowdays are EMPTY).
I've seen both royal ballet's sleeping beauty with vadim and polunin (not live of course). They are both great dancers in their own way and to be honest polunin could only wish to have vadim's perfection in terms of lines and elegance especially in that act 2 solo. That being said I wouldn't say that one is better than the other, it's just a matter of preference

AS lovely as the main characters are, the corps has the most stunning costumes! I'd give anything to be dressed in such finery!
