Hi Kiwi! Fyi, although there's no inside lock button, many car doors of that era could indeed be locked and unlocked from the inside: push the inside door handle forward with the door closed, and it would lock. Pulling it back simultaneously unlocks and opens the door.
Greetings from the UK this was amazing to watch, your comment about looking at the situation reminded me of a saying my Grandfather said. When he started working on something he always said measure twice and cut once, advice that ive now passed on to my children .
Great video - that would come in handy on my 1968 F100 because you have to use the key to lock and unlock it also! Also don't you love how nice it is to work on a dry western car - my truck came from Idaho and taking things apart on it was as easy as Marge!😉

What city did Marge come out of ? Unknown to most people that have never been here , California has more climates than you can count . Our beaches will rust and rot a restored vintage car in 2 years , while our deserts will preserve them like Egyptian mummies for 500 years . 😂🤣😂. That's funny right there !!
Kiwi I have worked on a lot of cars why aren't the door lock actuators vacuum operated c'mon maybe 1959 large marge forgot the simple life?
Some cars had vacuum door locks but they struggled to have enough grunt to operate especially if there were any even minor vacuum leaks. So they were replaced with electric. Marge is going all 21st century😁😎😬
Resto mod. Nothing wrong with that. Make it your own.
😢mine was the window tract spots broke tthat were broken
Yup the spots were broken and the bracket was buried in the sand in the bottom of the door.😬😎👍
Enjoy watching the episodes on large Marge , but have to ask with all the jobs needed , electric door locks seem like an odd starting point ?
She does have a to do list and I've knocked a number of things off it. Number one is an engine freshen up but I don't want to start on that till winter so in the mean time I'm going to do some of the more frivolous things on the list. Power windows are next then A/C
Two Kiwis I watch on YT, you putting modern stuff into old cars, and Mad Mike putting old stuff into new Mclaren.
Oh really, I'll have to take a look at that !!
He's jamming a triple rotor into Mclaren for Goodwood FOS.
@@derekhobbs1102 😳😳. Wow!!
You're a better man than me Kiwi--I'll stick with the OE stuff, it's easier!😆
Yeah I'm a bit of a masochist deep down😁😎👍
👍👍👍
What city did Marge come out of ? Unknown to most people that have never been here , California has more climates than you can count . Our beaches will rust and rot a restored vintage car in 2 years , while our deserts will preserve them like Egyptian mummies for 500 years . Marge appears to have lived her life in the desert environs . The screws come out nicely , and without a 3 day soak in Kroil . So , if known , where is she really from ?
I'm told she sat in the desert not too far from El Cajon in SanDiego since 1979. I've yet to find a frozen nut or bolt on Marge
The best part is that it won't disable the rest of the car if it croaks.
No! The key still works everything 😁
