      Hi 👋🏼 I made it just now and I used 4 mm cord and 100” inches folded in half . It was enough to make the pattern twice ( Diamond ) and fit a bigger wider pot than hers ❤️ HAPPY CRAFTING!!

    For anyone else concerned about the speed of the video, click on settings and change the playback speed to 0.5 or less. That should help to observe how they are doing the knots in action. I agree that it would have been better if the speed was slowed down to demonstrate the first knots and THEN sped up afterwards (like in most proper videos).

    For everyone asking, you need 6 cords measured out to about 5 meters/16 feet. It's in the blog post in the description and comments section. If you can read you can succeed.

    Fair warning, this tutorial calls for 6 ropes cut at 5m length. Their finished product has 2 diamonds. I was making mine, and realized I still had a TON of rope. I threw in a 3rd diamond to try to use some up. Even after adding the extra diamond, I still cut off probably around 2 feet of excess rope after giving it a tassel. I can't really afford to buy rope often, so for me wasting this much rope is ridiculous. I do save the pieces to use for gathering knots on other macrame projects, but just thought I'd warn everyone. If you plan on doing 2 diamonds like the video shows, you DO NOT NEED 5m OF ROPE!!

    • @ellawayfareryoga7044
      @ellawayfareryoga7044 5 лет назад +5

      Had the same experience. I cut 6 cords of only 4m and created 5 diamonds with a 4mm cord and that was quite alright. Not too much rope wasted ;)

    • @Stellaaa1989
      @Stellaaa1989 4 года назад +2

      I ended up using just 3.5 meters for 4mm cord, made 5 diamonds and still have perfect length at the bottom. Mine diamonds are rather wide than long like the video, I even added one more roll of square knot for better securing. Definitely don’t need 5 meters for each cord!

    This video is pretty, but awful. There is no way to tell whether the rope goes over or under the other rope because it's happening so fast. Plus, there's no audio describing what she is doing. This is about as helpful as just sitting beside a random person in a train station and watching them in order to learn. That would be fine if you could stop the stranger to say, "hey-was that one over under the left one or over under the right one?" I got through this by pausing and re-watching to try and tell what the hands are doing, but seriously: not a video for beginners. I feel sorry for any beginners who tried this and thought they sucked at this because the video says it's for beginners. Nope. It's not.
