@@ChrisBumstead Hey hello from Switzerland 🇨🇭🙃 I know when it comes to nutrition, you as a professional bodybuilder don't have to tell me or explain much how nutrition works! But when you said that you are currently struggling with a few allergies, inflammations and that no medication is an option, I immediately thought of myself and my chronic inflammation and illness, and how I got many problems under control and also got rid of no medication to the point of stopping and reducing medication! About the diet....Of course, my total change, extreme change doesn't go with you, but maybe for a certain time in a similar direction! I have been living strictly for 2 years now, with a few adjustments from time to time because of the metabolism, the elimination diet, based on the carnivore type of, The Lions diet! Just water, salt and beef....I've been doing this for 1.5 years and got rid of inflammation, skin allergies, and many other smaller things! Well, and a 100lbs weight reduction along the way! But that wasn't the main goal. Certain foods and products in combination promote inflammation and various allergies and diseases to a certain extent! Maybe a ketovore diet could help you for a while! I went from the standard keto diet for many years, to the ketovore diet variant over 3 years, then to the next step with total carnivore, no more carbohydrates and then to the elimination diet (the Lions diet)! I am or have been sugar-free for 8 years now, so especially the industrial sugar in processed food or in coffee for sweetening! But with you, a kind of ketovore diet could lead to the goal in which you can experiment with certain carbohydrates from foods and supplements, reduce the amounts and balance out something with the protein and healthy good fats to see if something works out with it, improves allergy and inflammation!!! I think it is precisely with nutrition that you can achieve the most with such causes without having to resort to medicines, only in an emergency at the end! I would clarify it with your coach and a professional in matters of metabolism, nutrition etc., especially for high-performance athletes like you. I noticed your self talk. Words are like instructions to the subconscious. If you switch 'hate' to 'challenging' it will start changing the patterns in the subconscious. I know it sounds crazy but this stuff works. What words we tell ourselves and others create the reality we end up living.

@@ChrisBumstead also you mentioned about a situation in your childhood with the lisp that could have caused the fear. When we are young, up to age 7 ish our brain waves are very low... Essentially it's like we walk around dreaming as kids. And when something traumatic happens it spikes our brainwaves. When that happens, whatever event we experience gets stored like a program in the subconscious. Like a script that plays out throughout our lives and the same feeling of fear gets triggered everytime we experience a similar event in our life. This can be our whole life if we don't turn off the program. You can turn off the program at any time if you access the subconscious and instruct it to turn it off. There are a couple of amazing therapists I know that can do this, one in Florida is called Dr.Quintell. the other is my step dad, Steven Blake (Old Pain 2 Go). Well worth checking out. It may help. Essentially you are telling the subconscious that look... We are here now and it's ok, there's noting to fear. You are also doing this by going out and putting yourself in those situations public speaking... So amazing work man!
I know it well... I'm a singer and I faced the same challenges. Seeing you do this is amazing and I know the fear and what it does. I used to completely cramp up on stage, forget words, the chords on my guitar. So much fun haha. Anyway, it's not our true nature and more people with true nature is what we need right now in this world!

One thing that I will remember for the rest of my life is when I had to show the process we do in our company to a CEO of a different company and that was the first time I had to do something that important (at least it was important to me that time). I was nervous and actually told it to the CEO. What he told me next probably changed my mindset completely. He just said while smiling "Don't be nervous. Just remember that I don't know shit and you only have to show what you already know and understand". Immediately after that all stress was gone and that advice will always stick with me.
So Chris whenever you have to talk in front of an audience just remember that people came to listen to you, to learn from you and you only have to show/tell what you already know and understand :)

For allergies or for when i’m sick my parents would try and make me sweat it out so they’d tell me to go lift or go on a run.
Additionally I love how cbum although an introvert is able to step out his comfort zone for himself and others around him and as an introvert myself it helps to know that one of my favorite fitness influencers is just like me trying to overcome the nervousness of public speaking.
Love the vids and the work ethic and I aim to be as strong and influential as cbum.

A good trick to help you get rid of some nervousness when you're walking up to a stage to speak is to take a deep breath, hold it for a couple seconds then slowly exhale as you walk to the stage. It helps relax your diaphragm and stops those butterflies in your chest. :)

Performer here (and long retired natty pro btw). A good trick that I learned years ago for public speaking is to pretend youre speaking to a buddy at a party etc. Make eye contact with a few specific ppl in the audience and it helps to chill you down.

From one Canadian to another, sorry to hear about your allergies Chris. I used to have wicked hay fever and seasonal pollen allergies, but they were almost eliminated by changing my diet. By far the most impactful food I cut out was dairy, which can create excess mucus, which in turn causes nasal congestion, among other symptoms. I also cut out gluten, which I know is a sensitive topic, but it significantly reduced inflammation, as well as itchy watery eyes. The last one was refined white sugar, that had a similar effect to gluten. You’ll also notice additional benefits, including less overall inflammation in connective tissue. I cut them out one by one, so I could notice the changes. I’m not saying it will fix all your allergies, but I promise even a reduction in these three areas will help significantly. I know you drink a lot of water, but for those reading that don’t, water will also help. Best of luck Chris.

I have been having seasonal allergies for 3 years now
For allergy:
1. Wear a good face mask when you are outside.
2. Get a room air filter/purifier
3. Don't wear the clothes that you wore outside, wash them because the dust stays on your clothes and hair. wash hair too
I would say this method helps me without medication, especially during sleep. if I skip a day I would sneeze, running nose, and tear my eyes the whole time.

Ppl dont even realize what it is to be on top of your game year after year , not give in to the dark side of famousness , not give in to endless parties and bad influence while being the most famous person in what you are doing. To be that consistent and will driven makes Chris not only best in what he is doing ,but overall a representation what a MAN should be. I am happy to see such strong minded person and even thou he say himself he needs to work on his mind , i think he already doing it pretty much very successfully given how things can turn very easily ( eyes on Calum ). Chris not only have the heavy crown of bodybuilding ,but the difference between him and the ones before him is that he is in the era of internet, youtube and so on.. pressure is out of this world and the expectations of ppl that watching your every single step are enormous. Public speaking is a task and opportunity that like 97% of The population is afraid of doing. One remedy is practice practice practice. I’ve r seen some people even including myself the requires medication to help with the nerves. You got this brotha and I speak you get better and better as time goes by with being comfortable in front of an audience, motivating them to go the distance!

For natural allergy relief. Rooibos tea and stinging nettle leaf tea is a really potent antihistamine combo. Works best if you use a french press.
Tip: make a pass or two in the morning and store it in the fridge so you can sip throughout the day. Do it for a solid week and you should notice big differences
+1 for nettle tea. For me, it's that plus allevia (fexofenadine)
Your pump may be better in the morning, fasted because your body is able to provide blood flow to your extremities rather than worry about digestive system. Also, something that I’ve learned and seen a great improvement in pump enhancement is hitting the sauna for 2-5 minutes before a workout so that it pushes blood away from the core and out to the extremities. When doing this, as soon as you feel a sweat droplet step out! I’m a HUGE fan of you and am an Exercise Science major looking to get into working with athletes such as yourself thank you for the motivation!!

Add Turmeric in your diet. Cook with turmeric. Max 8g per day. Turmeric lowers inflammatory markers and may help with allergies as well by the mechanism of down regulating immune inflammation/ activation.

Local Honey...given your travelling about here there and everywhere your body is picking up different types of pollen etc.... eating spoon fulls of local honey contain the same pollens and help the body adjust and decrease allergies....
CBUM! For your allergies, eat local honey every day! I recommend at least one spoonful if not two. I take mine in coffee or tea. That’s LOCAL HONEY, not regular grocery store brand. It has to have local pollen in it! God bless!

I know several people who have allergies. They've had great succes with a spoonful of raw local(!) honey a day. So if you have a pollen allergy at a certain area or location, make sure to get yourself honey from that same specific area. Hope it helps
Oh and unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar, might help as well. Also good for your gut and kidneys, rich in minerals and vitamines etc. Add 1 tablespoon to a glass of water and drink it in the morning on an empty stomach

I know it's hard to not have a crowd around you. I could just watch you workout. People that can consistently and correctly move weight like that is amazing to me. Im trying to get in better shape myself.
Natural raw unfiltered honey every morning is great for allergies. Usually you're supposed to eat locally grown raw honey because it's all the pollens from the area you live in, but you travel everywhere so maybe just snag you a jar from several different places and start adding a couple teaspoons to your shakes in the morning. This helped me with my allergies tremendously. Also try using some essential oils to clear up your sinuses when your allergies do flare up( spearmint, peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, frankincense, sandalwood, lemon)

Allergy remedy without medication... spicy food!
Jalapenos sliced up and steeped in hot tea will open up those sinuses super quick! One or two thin slices in a pot should be more than enough; add citrus/cinnamon for flavor.
...and do not use in a neti pot!
Locally sourced honey is a great way to help with allergies, plus it has about a thousand other benefits that come along with it

Totally relate to the fear of
Public speaking/presenting. Something that has helped me besides rehearsing the speech. Do not take any caffeine, and do a hard workout or some cardio in the morning so your heart rate slows down throughout the day.

You always know what to say and how to motivate people. Talking about putting yourself in uncomfortable situations to help you grow is never easy. I sufferfrom the same thing. Talking in front of large crowds. When I was waiting in line to meet you at the Arnold last week to have you sign my black B hat. I was nervous. Like OMG I'm gonna meet Chris what do I say. I was extremely nervous but excited and it went better than I hoped. Got to meet you. And now again I'm less than a month away from doing my first bodybuilding show another stressful situation. But I'm excited and watching you and hearing you speak from your heart about God and Bad things you deal with help more than you know. Keep being the real CBUM!! and I hope to meet you again!! Training with you is my next goal!! 🫶🏼🙏🏻💪🏼

Honey from bees local to your area. I grew up around where you’re at now, it really helped w/o taking meds. It takes a couple months to build up a tolerance but it has something to do with the bees using the local pollen. So you’re basically micro-dosing the allergen lol

Had the same with allergies. Non stop. Coughing, sneezing. For some reason the gym work outs helped but also some hot sauce in food opens everything

Steam help and reduce the allergy of nose, and that’s what I’ve been doing whenever my nose acted up.
For bad allergies- try incorporating some natural honey made in your area (Florida)
caffeine usually works best for me, just a double espresso with milk usually clears up my allergies, as well as a hot long shower usually clears up my sinuses.
15:02 Ive found celery juice in the early morning really helps with allergies (just blending celery and water in a vitamix). I feel 20x better. Ginger root helps as well

For your allergies, do the vapor rub and cheek pressure trick. Always helps my sinuses and allergies clear themselves!

Two-three tablespoons of Ginger Honey Tea (has actual ginger pieces in it) from the Asian supermarket mixed with a cup of hot/warm water helps me through allergy season.

From someone that suffer from allergies , you should try some homeade tee with onion peel, ginger and honey. Helps me everytime.
For the allergies I use a netti pot but make sure that water is clean water like cooled down boiled water
Clears the sinuses well and get rids of my allergies

One thing I do every morning for allergies is just blasting the shower on the hottest setting while I’m getting ready and I found breathing in that steam for 10-15 minutes is huge

Chris I can relate to you so much as far as not wanting to speak in public. I as well feel my heart beat in my chest and almost forget that you kind of need to breathe resulting in shortness of breath. The first time I gave a speech in college I literally about passed out. This is also why i dont talk to anyone😅

For me, the best medicine for allergy/rhinitis is Betamethasone + Dexchlorpheniramine maleate (you can find at any pharmacy here in Brazil and I think at EUA too). If you want to try something natural, I recommend boiling orange leaf and then you smell it (hot) for 10 - 15 minutes. Thyme tea can be useful too.

Ginger and garlic tea or peppermint tea, are great for nasal congestion problems and contain anti-inflammatory properties.
