My ranking 10. Debut:It was a good debut but it's my least favorite album it's not bad but it's kind of basic (I like the conceptual) 9. Post:I love this album but compared to the others it falls behind, although there is no doubt that it is one of their best albums 8. Volta: used to hate this album but now I found out how beautiful it is
You keep adding the word "weird" which I find hilarious. That's her entire shtick. She built her entire career mocking generic pop music and creating her own sound in the process. Her music is supposed to be taken with humor and seriousness at the same time.
My album ranking 🍄✨ 10.Debut 🤗: It's not a bad album but it's not my favorite it has some good songs like venus as a boy and big time sensuality but I don't really like 80's/90's music 9.Volta 👽: I don't know what to say about this album but I liked it and it's underrated 8.Medulla 👄🎶: conceptually it's one of my favorites but I wouldn't listen to it often since it's not very digestible☠️ 7.Post💌:I love this album it's one of björk's best it has a lot of gems hyperballad its best her song 6.Homogenic🎎:It's one of my favorites but I only like half the other half ehhh..... 5. Fossora🍄:I know it's not the best björk album but I loved it and it reminds me of my grandmother since she was my maternal figure✨ Biophilia🌜🌛🌞: this is her most underrated album and it has the best concept i love it i wish people would see how beautiful it is ✨ 3. Utopia 🧚🏻♀️:Probably "their worst album" but I loved it lyrically I know it's repetitive with the flutes but it's very personal for me✨ 2. Vulnicura: 🎻💔:whenever I listen to this album I cry 💔 it's beautiful very emotional without a doubt one of the best 1. Vespertine❄️🌧️:when i heard this i loved it the best album ever i feel bad for the people who don't know it
Great video although I have different opinions on some of the placing and issues that you seem to have, it's always a delight seeing other people sharing their thoughts about björk's work!!
maybe I'm one of the few who like Volta and Biophilia. Volta is the most underrated album, I really don't understand the hate for this album. Biophilia is a good album. I really like idea and lyrics on Biophilia. my top: 10. Debut(I don't really like this album. yes, it’s has great songs, but rather this album is not for me) 9. Medúlla(To be honest, I rarely listen to anything from this album. if I'm listening, it's probably: The triumph of a heart; Who is it; Oceania) 8. Utopia (Utopia is very interesting in sound. "Losss" is one of my favorite songs in Björk's discography. The sounds of nature in this album are fascinating, but somehow this album did not particularly interest me.) 7. Post (great album, Hyperballed is the best song on the album) 6. Fossora(this is what I expected after Utopia. It’s really surprised me. concept, sound, this album is beautiful) 5. Vespertine (please don't hit me🥹. I love this album very much. I used to listen to Unison all the time as a kid. this album is very solid. I would put it higher, but there are albums that have stuck in my heart more strongly) 4. Biophilia (as I wrote above, this album attracts me with its concept and sound. I think its deserves more. maybe this is Björk's most calm album, but that's what attracts) 3. Volta (this album is like a party. this is amazing. this album makes me move. the album deserves much more recognition. the energy of this album is too strong) 2. Vulnicura (it's just heaven. This album has the best lyrics and the best vocals. For me, this is the most serious album in her discography) 1. Homogenic (this is truly the best album in Björk's discography. every song is amazing. Instrumental, vocals on this album are just great. this is the only album where I listen to every song) (I don't listen to other albums much (I don't listen to the children's album at all). From Restraint Pattern 9 I can single out only "Storm" and "Bath", sometimes I listen to them)
FINALLY some love for Fossora. I’ve seen so many people say it’s bottom tier björk. To that I disagree a lot. It was how I was introduced to björk so I might be a little biased and obviously it doesn’t beat Homogenic and Vespertine. But it’s number 3 for me as well. I feel like she captured the vibes of quarantine so we’ll with it and the tracks are all just amazing and down to earth. I think people just need more time with it! ❤
I cannot do a list, not so far at least, but the album I cannot really listen to until now is Biophilia, at the same time I am giving myself time to listen to all of them slowly so maybe I will love Biophilia in some time. I was not loving Utopia and now I really really like to listen to some of Utopia's song or listen to it all whil I work or I do my stuff even if not every tracks is "fundamental". Sue Me has not the best lyrics but I LOVE the sound and little "chorus". Utopia is so experimental that I think its an upgrade in music, not just her music. WHile I cannot listen to Arca alone, Bjork and Arca together are great. Vulnicura was another album I did not like too much at the beginning and now I love it, especially Stonemilker, Lionsong (I can repeat it forever, even being more melodic-pop, i love her feelings on it and the voice), History of Touches. Homogenic and Vespertine are maybe the albums that in my opinion are fully incredible. From the first albums I desperately love all the most known songs as....everybody! too long to write them down but you know which ones I mean ;) Volta, I really enjoy Earth Introduders, it has a sound that reminds me the Army of Me's Bjork and its weird at the same time, so unique as her; I like a few songs more from Volta but i cannot understand how people love Declare Independence....I cannot stand the sound of it! Fossora, I love it. To be honest I think its a very good album with very good lyrics and music, clarinets and techno together is so innovative. Her inspiration to mushrooms is wonderful, I adore ATOPOS and its lyrics, Ovule and the "broken heart part" makes me feel crazy, I also like Ancestress but I would not listen to it all the time as Atopos and Fossora and Fungal City (such two new good songs to me). Freefall is pretty loved around but I dont like it too much, and as the videomaker i hate trolla gabba! I cannot decide my fav song ever from this goddess but I think I am obsessed with Hunter (how could you not scream and have goosebumps when she says "i thought I could organize freedom, how scandinavian of me"), Unrevel (sweet. beautiful), Cocoon (incredible lyrics and I dedicated it to my partner at the beginning of our relationship, he died two years ago after we have been together for 10 years, today it was the first time I could hear Cocoon again), Hyperballad, Oceania, Lionsong, Isobel, Pagan Poetry (a recent love in my case hehehe), Atopos, Sue Me (yeah I know its strange) and so many more!! I have never heard to DR9 so I have so much to discover yet! I think the best thing with Bjork is that there is all the flavours in her music and even more of what you could expect. She is an experience, not a singer. And you have SO MUCH material to use according to your mood, music tastes of the moment etc..
Vespertine is by far my favourite. Post is my second favourite. Homogenic is three. Debut four. I actually really enjoy her live album and own several. Really really good stuff.
Utopia is my least favorite. I like the crazy instrumentals but I don't enjoy the vocals. Björk mostly sounds like she's bored out of her mind and some songs begin very interesting but ultimately go nowhere with repetitive vocals (Blissing Me).
My album ranking 10. Utopia:I've really tried to like this album but it's hard my favorite songs are sue me, future forever and claimstaker 9. Biophilia:With this it happens to me the same as utopia it is not my style of music and I would not listen to it my favorite songs are Thunderbolt, crystalline and mutual core 8. Volta: Most people hate this album but I like the only bad thing is that it's too long my favorite songs Wanderlust, declare idenpendence, pneumonia and earth intruders 7. Debut: This album is enjoyable and I love the music of the 90s my favorites Big time sensuality, venus as a boy, crying and play dead 6. Fossora:I don't like björk's latest projects at all but this one exceeded my expectations a bit my favorites fossora, freefall, atopos and her mother's house 5. Vulnicura: good return after biophilia and volta the only bad thing is that the songs are a bit long but I enjoyed it my favorites stonemilker, notget, atom dance, quicksand and black lake 4. Medúlla:Undoubtedly the best most original album with biophilia one of the best works my favorite oceania, who is it, where's the line, triumph of a heart, vokuro, sonnets and ancestors 3. Post: What can I say about this album? The album is a danceable album and it does not fall into exaggeration like her latest albums, my favorites are army of me, hyperballad, possibly maybe, isobel, it's oh so quiet, enjoy and i miss you 2. Vespertine: her most revolutionary album without a doubt a work of art my favorites pay poetry, undo, unison, cocoon, aurora, sun in my mouth, it's not up to you and A echo, A stain 1. Homogenic:Without a doubt the best album of björk's discography is very good and my favorites are all the songs ❤️
My ranking: 1. Homogenic 2. Debut 3. Vespertine ( 'An Echo A Stain' is actually masterpiece) 4. Post 5. Volta 6. Vulnicura So far. I opened Bjork for myself not so long ago. I listened to every studio album of her, and I really stuck on these 6 so far.
Fossora Is my least favorite, maybe because my expectations where high, i only like atopos and fossora, the rest Is unbearble 10 Fossora 5/10 9 Medulla 7/10 8 Utopia 8/10 7 Debut 8/10 6 Volta 9/10 5 Biophilia 9/10 4 Post 10/10 3 Vulnicura 10/10 2 Homogenic 10/10 1 Vespertine 10/10
Finally some love for Volta such an underrated album! I watch the Volta tour video on Toutube like every day. Vertebrae by Vertebrae is a stunner. Earth Intruders is catchy, Wanderlust is great and Declare Independence is a banger. I am still new to Björk and have not yet listened to all her albums. Maybe Volta will go lower once I do but I think it’s a solid album
@@bjorkrules9563 I still haven’t really listened to Biophilia, Utopia and Fossora. Though I have heard some songs from Fossora. I love Atopos and the video. Also Sorrowful Soil which is growing on me. I love that she did the video by the erupting volcano. We just went to Iceland this summer. Came back and something clicked and started to listen to Björk. Must be something in the air or water in Iceland lol
my top: 10. vespertine 🦢 - yes, i am one of the rarest people on the planet who does not like vespertine, for me it is the most boring and drawn-out album, i don’t argue, it has a special vibe and a very meaning, pagan poetry and aurora touch my soul, but i still don’t feel this album 9. fossora 🍄 - fossora has a very deep meaning and interesting sound, but the biggest thing that made me feel this was the song with her daughter Isadora, i cried over it 8. vulnicura 🎻 - i love the vibe of the album, strings with electronic beats, reminds me of homogenic. but two things turn me off: 1) this is a personal story related to my recent breakup, I don't really want to experience pain with bjork or anyone else 2) the fact that it is stretched out is very visible in the black lake, but it is covered by masterpieces like: stonemilker, lionsong, atom dance, mouth mantra or quicksand 7. utopia 🦩 - one of the most atmospheric albums, not the deepest meaning, but quite an interesting concept, the sound is also not far behind, but the album is quite drawn out, too much, especially features creatures. 6. biophilia 🌙 - one of the underrated masterpieces, i put it here only because of the higher ratings for the following albums, this album has its own unique vibe, and things like mutual core should be a UNESCO property 5. debut 🦔 - very nice album, very gentle, you can feel a note of nostalgia for the old days, you can feel the vibe of the 90s (I was born in the 00s lol), from joy to sadness, I think this album is ideal for beginners and basically everyone, it is unique 4. medúlla 🪼 - the vocal album was a brilliant idea, I don't understand people's confusion and especially from Tanya Tagaq's singing, this album is unique in its vibe, Oceania is the pinnacle of the album, and critics underestimate this album 3. volta 🩸- the most underrated album, and there are reasons for this, it's archaic, you don't put together its atmosphere, it's a constructor album, lego, but for me it's a very atmospheric album, African vibes, I pay special tribute to Earth Intruders 2. homogenic 👘 - one of her best works, at first it seems like the strings are the mainstay but then you get Pluto (very underrated song) it has the most interesting structure, the songs are unique and the cover is a masterpiece 1. post 🌃 - the brightest work for me, each song describes a precise stay in a new city, a big city, a very personal album, even a little erotic, its colors and emotions saturate at the first listening and permanently fixate on your brain, I sincerely do not understand why the author wants to send Possibly Maybe to Homogenic, I consider this song one of the most beautiful in the album, in no way inferior to Hyperballad or Army Of Me or even It’s Oh So Quiet
finally a video that dosent put volta at dead last.. i will say however drawing restraint nine is understandable how you may think its weird.. but putting it at last is a little harsh.. there are definitely worse.
10/10 Biophilia (Biophilia is really good and universe) 9/10 Gling Gló (Gling glo is so jazzy) 8/10 Vulnicura (in Vulnicura some people make them sad) 7/10 Selmasong (Selmasong is good and peaceful) 6/10 Homogenic (Homogenic is good but it so beautiful) 5/10 Debut (Debut is ok so Meh Album) 4/10 Post (in 1996 Björk looks different to Post) 3/10 Utopia (Utopia is girly stuff) 2/10 Medúlla (Medúlla is like choir) 1/10 Resident Drawing 9 (This album looks ok but boring)
10. Volta Easily my least favorite. However, i'd only call one track on this album a straight stinker (Declare independence) 9. Biophillia Aside from a few, this one just doesn't click with me as a whole 8. Homogenic Im gonna get killed for this one. Though Hunter and Joga are among her finest work, i couldn't care less about the rest. Just doesn't click. 7. Utopia To me, when this album is bad, its BADDDDD and vice versa (Arisen My Senses, Body Memory, Loss) Not a huge fan of the overall sound however 6. Vespertine Very similar to utopia except that i dont think this album can be that bad. 5. Fossora Absolutely not dissapointed. Somehow a combo between Volta and Utopia is awesome. Ovule has been a HUGE favorite of mine, already soaring into my top 3 songs 4. Post Remarkably solid artpop album that deserves its classic status. God I hate Enjoy though. 3. Vulnicura Toss up between this and medulla here, and this one lost. Don't get me wrong, some of her all time best work here, but Quicksand is a mediocre ending imo and as you said, mouth mantra is super forgetable. 2. Medulla HEAR ME OUT Unique sound? Check. Remarkable production? Check. All time favorite songs? (Triumph of a heart, who is it) Check. 1. Debut Yeahhh basic pick. From a sound that resonates with me, to containing literally my favorite song of all time, this is my favorite Bjork album and mainstay in my top 5 albums of all time.
Homogenic is probably her best album ever but i think it's better if song pluto should never existed it should be in album volta Cause homogenic is more spiritual and makes everything so wonderful and spectacular
@@bjorkrules9563 yeah it's kinda unusual but i personally don't like it 😕 all of her homogenic album songs r masterpiece except this demon king screams Pluto
10 - Debut - It's a little bit sad, but I cannot listen to it again. I discovered Björk with it, but now I just find it boring 9 - Volta - It's basically the same reason as for Debut. It's just too messy and I would kill the man who said to Björk that she could release Declare Independence and sale it !!!! 8 - Biophilia - It's... One day maybe I'll really get it, but for now it's just some songs that I like... 7 - Fossora - It's basically there that we begin with the good albums... Fossora is great, but in a way, I have the impression that even Björk knows that it's not a great album. It sure has its great moments, but for me it's more a small album were you can hear Björk during location getting fun with her family and friends. 6 - Medùlla - It's one of here more intense album and sometime songs on it just kill with their sincerity. I know that some don't like it but "Vokuro" is probably one of my Björk's favourite and "Desired Constellation" is probably her best song ever, it's such a big strike emotionally (for me at least) 5 - Vespertine - Big fan of this album, maybe the album on this whole planet that is the more accurate with the different feeling that you can feel when you're in love. 4 - Post - Such a good album, I see it like a medicament or a plush. Every time I don't feel good I just listen to it and everything seems better. 3 - Vulnicura - I don't know what to say about this album. It's just perfect, maybe too sad sometimes, you have to make sure that you feel very well before listening to it (or to be sad and cry if you want). 2 - Utopia - I won't talk too much about this one because I will be killed. But it's very personal and I don't get a lot of critics that this album has received. For me it's just beautiful. 1 - Homogenic - The album that you're never get bored of, the album that is so great that even people that doesn't like Björk liked it. I'm also a big fan of her live in Cambridge, which is beautiful but also sad? I don't this one feels weird... (Sorry for my English, I'm french)
My WORST to BEST 10. FOSSORA (6/10) Yeah, I think the new one is her worst album to date. Conceptually Björk promoted this as being "club music for the living room" and I honestly fail to see how. Genre wise this album is all over the place; it feels like a mix of all her albums since 'Post' but particularly 'Homogenic', 'Medúlla', 'Volta' and 'Utopia'. There are songs on here that are so bad by Björk's standards that it's actually laughable; too many tracks feel like incomplete motifs and not fully fleshed out songs. It's almost as if songwriting was given the least amount of attention on this album. Just when I thought Björk couldn't make a more filler album than Utopia or an all-around weaker and scatterbrained album than Volta, she somehow managed to do just that. This is the first album where I feel like she tried too hard to be arty and avant-garde while neglecting tangible musicality. FAVS: Ovule*, Ancestress, Freefall, Allow, Fungal City, Fossora 9. VOLTA (6.8/10) My problem with 'Volta' is not the aesthetic but rather that some songs run on too long and don't progress enough to justify their length i.e. Wanderlust, Dull Flame, My Juvenile, Pneumonia. And 'Pneumonia' really sucks BTW, the track goes nowhere and the horns are thin and weak. On paper this album sounds like it should've been an exciting, vibrant, colorful and total firecracker show of an album, unfortunately the musical execution and flow don't pan out very well and Volta ends up sounding like a compilation of unfinished demos. The 4:06 radio edit of Dull Flame is perfect and should've been on the album instead. That being said, this also happens to be the point in her career where I think vocals were at their peak in terms of intonation and control. The Voltaic tour of 2007/2008 is her best tour to date - WITHOUT A DOUBT. FAVS: Earth Intruders, I See Who You Are, Vertebrae, Hope, Independence*. 8. UTOPIA (7.6/10) A little too bloated and songs are either too long or lack enough structure. 2 or 3 songs should've been removed entirely with others being trimmed down and songwriting improved. Utopia shouldn't have been longer than 60 minutes. However I really like the conceptual soundscapes and the addition of flutes to the mix. FAVS: Blissing Me, The Gate, Utopia, Body Memory, Tabula Rasa*, Claimstalker. 7. DEBUT (7.8/10) Fun and accessible. A little too simple for my Björk taste and I'm also not a fan of the strong early 90s electronic sound. The album is also her most forgetful for me. However I think it's one of the most definitive and compelling debut albums of all time. FAVS: Human, Crying, Venus*, Like Someone in Love, Violently Happy, Play Dead 6. BIOPHILIA (8.2/10) One of Björk's tighter albums. It's her best concept but my only critque is that I feel like it should've been more grand and epic in scale particularly on tracks like Dark Matter and Solstice. That being said I still really enjoy this album for it's sonic ambition and conceptual themes. FAVS: Moon, Crystalline, Cosmogony, Mutual Core, Hollow, Virus*, Sacrifice. 5. POST (8.6/10) From 'Miss You' onwards the album is relatively mediocre. Nevertheless a fantastic eclectic pop album that I consider vital in Björk's discography. FAVS: Army, Hyperballad, Modern Things, So Quiet, Enjoy, Flirting Again, Isobel*. 4. VESPERTINE (9.0/10) By the end of this album it's like eating a little too much of the most delicious dessert you can think of; which is to say that this album is VERY rich. Vespertine is her most beautiful and heavenly although I think this album could've been significantly improved had the track listing been changed to flow better. An unpopular opinion, but I think this album contains her worst vocal delivery of any of her albums. Vespertine is Björk's most intimate, whimsical and ornate sounding album but it can also come off as a little corny and exaggerated at times; those acapella moments on Cocoon and Poetry are kinda cringe. Nevertheless, a fantastically unique and ambitious artistic statement and an art pop classic. FAVS: Hidden Place, Cocoon, It's Not Up To You, Undo, Poetry, Frosti, Aurora, Heirloom* 3. MEDÚLLA (9.4/10) CUTTING EDGE because it's made 98% out of human voices while sounding so diverse and consistent. This is perhaps Björk's most challenging and polarizing album, one that I consider to be amongst her best work. 'Where Is The Line' is the best song she's ever made; it's a menacing track showcasing Björk's songwriting talent at their most genius. Try finding another album that sounds like this, YOU WON'T. FAVS: Pleasure, Show Me, The Line*, Vokuro, Who Is It, Submarine, Constellation, Oceania, Ancestors, Mouth's Cradle, Midvikudags, Triumph. 2. VULNICURA (9.6/10) The album that made me a Björk fan. After an objectively weak run of albums from Volta to Biophilia; Björk made a strong return to form with her most consistent and best flowing album since Homogenic. I've listened to this album sooo many times, more than any other. THE STRINGS, THE STRINGS 😍. The way Björk treats long songs on this album is better than she ever has - they actually go somewhere and don't waste time meandering. The only thing stopping this album from being perfect is the song 'Quicksand' with its rough and abrasive production which ends up hurting the end of the album. Overall this album is an avant-garde orchestral masterpiece with melodic and wholesome musical arrangements topped with heartbreaking poetry all culminating to near perfection. FAVS: Stonemilker, Lionsong, History, Black Lake, Family, Notget, Atom Dance*, Mouth Mantra. 1. HOMOGENIC (9.8/10) This would be a 10/10 if the video or Greatest Hits version of 'All is Full of Love' was on the album instead of the ambient album version. It's actually quiet tragic that Björk ended up replacing the original triphop version of the song with the ambient one at the last minute before this album was finished. That being said, this remains Björk's most airtight and consistent album to date at just 43 minutes; wasting no time in its track listing and flow. It was her first fully realised and cohesive solo project and solidified her as a musical prowess, an innovator and force to be reckoned with in the industry. Thanks to the masterful engineering, this album still sound's fresh enough to have been released as a brand new album in 2021. Homogenic was incredibly cutting-edge and groundbreaking for it's time and is a landmark album in electronic and pop music. FAVS: Hunter, Jóga, Unravel, Bachelorette, Neon Like, 5 years, Immature, Alarm, Pluto, Full of Love (Greatest Hits version)*
Debut - i love this album, i would give it a 9, cos im not rly over the moon about the anchor song, but i dont hate it either..& the album has thas 90s dance sound that is just my fav in the world really. Post - really diverse & the songs are even better than on debut, i would give it a 9 because of the headphones & youve been flirting again, haha i just dont get these two, but i dont hate them either. Homogenic - my fav album, 10/10. Vespertine - i can understand objectively that is 10/10 but for me personally is 9 cos its very minimalistic which it is indeed amazing but in compares to homogenic i can just blast that album anytime, but vespertine i kinda have to be in the mood, thats why. Nothing wrong with it, its just me 😁 Medulla - 2/10 hahahah this is the only one that im not gonna even apologize to any of bjork's fans. If someone likes it, im happy for them. But for me its just nightmare fuel at its finest. It has a few good moments, i LOVE who is it video version, i like oceania, desired constalation & maybe where is the line is not that bad. & These songs along should higher the album's score you would think but the others are just omfg. It also has the weirdest art cover, weird skin color, almost blue. I dont know. I cant stand a capella in general btw so its not just bjork. Bjork tried the best a capella that can possibly exists so ill give her credits for that. But its just proof to me that the human voice alone will just never fascinate me i guess xD Volta - this album is indeed underrated! It has a few songs that are maybe too long & slow & a few that sound very similar to each other. But i would give it a 8 (i know that these maybe sound low for you but im usually very harsh & like to leave room for improvements)..but yeah i also dont get why people dislike it, its pretty fucking ok. Biophilia - i used to hate this album but i discovered that i actually kinda like it. I just hate two songs - moon & solstice, sorry. The instrumentals are driving me insane. & I just kinda asumed because of these two that i hate the whole album but its decent. 7/10 in my opinion. Vulnicura - 10/10 for me. Its kinda hard to digest it at first, but i ended up absolutely loving every song. I like some songs on post & debut better than vulnicura songs, but vulnicura for me doesnt have a 'bad' one. Not that debut & post have but they have two 7/10 songs or something. Thats why vulnicura is higher. Utopia - i played the flute & i was really excited for this album!! I know its not for everyone but i really love the instrumentals. I dont like the utopia song so much. The chorus of sue me sounds like she's singing about some japanese dish ('sumi sumi sumiii') so i dont like that one much either. Blissing me has some weird old sql mp3 references. But others i like! It really makes me feel like im on a beautiful utopia islans with weird birds. I would give it a -8. I have different rules for ranking haha i rarely give a very high but that is still rly good for me, so dont get offended. Fossora - im not gonna rank this one cause i know that people will come after me cause its still new & fresh & someone already called me bjork's hater cause i said that i dont like this one em lol ok 😁 so im just gonna keep to myself. But yeah i dont like it & was dissapointed sadly :( Other non studio albums: Restrain 9 or whatever haha - really forgettable one. & Weird but not in a bjork weird way but super wtf weird way. Selmasongs - i love these songs except for 107 steps. Its a 9/10 for me. I hate the movie tho haha. Oh my goodness. The jazz one gling glang whatever - i hate jazz, not my thing. So its pretty low for me, but its not her fault, im sure she did her best for the genre. Sugarcubes albums are pretty much around 7/8. I like the sound. Baby bjork album - very cute for an 11 year old. 7/10 Honorable mention is the song Karvel, i think its on I miss you single album. So i rate this album 10/10 for these two songs 😁
@@exstasci8660 not my cup of tea. Its a boring drama, the way it is filmed is very european style, european movies are often very quite, pessimistic & slow. The way the camera is moving really frustrates me. & Also the plot is just not interesting for me. & The music group is cringe. Dramas are not my vibe usually, but this one in particular, just not for me.
@@exstasci8660 im from europe btw haha. The only exceptions are spanish movies (& im not from spain, just sayin haha). & I watched quite a few. I know people like to shit on america & i get it but when it comes to movies, i gotta say the american movies just have so much better production, imo. & Actors & everything. Its just my opinion & its probably not gonna change. Of course im talking about in general. I watched million of movies from both continents. & This one is just not the exception for me, rather the rule. But i know people disagree & that is ok.

@@MarusaTheBadKid I totally get that, European cinema is not for everyone, it can be slow & its less focused on special effects, but i think it has more personality ig, i feel like this cinema have a lot to say, i think cinema ( like any other medium of art) is like a food for our brains and american cinema ( at least the modern ) is like fast food ( i dont think its bad to like it, i like it too) i just think that the europian cinema is more complicated and harder to get into, i really like denish movies espescialy lft movies (btw im not denish lmfao)
dr9 is really good at least in my opinion, i mean there are a 2/3 songs that are awful but it doesn't deserve 2/10 its weird but in a good way , also i dont get why everyone is putting utopia so low its on top 3 for me and i personally dont agree with medulla but i think its valid everything else is valid, sorry for my english
But they weren't in such high spots, and plus that opinion was before this video, before insulting me search for everything first Edit: btw, I watch again the video and I said Moon, Hollow and Crystalline ARE NOT MEDIOCRE, I know I was too a fool but you more for calling me hypocrite, learn how to read first
@@fragmentedlily LMAO. Volta is by far her worst. It has the worst Björk song ever on it (Declare Independence), the worst Björk closer ever (My Juvenile), and in general is messy and has no consistent theme or sound.

My ranking
10. Debut:It was a good debut but it's my least favorite album it's not bad but it's kind of basic (I like the conceptual)
9. Post:I love this album but compared to the others it falls behind, although there is no doubt that it is one of their best albums
8. Volta: used to hate this album but now I found out how beautiful it is
By far the most controversial takes I've ever seen. Huge balls, I'll give you that
You keep adding the word "weird" which I find hilarious. That's her entire shtick. She built her entire career mocking generic pop music and creating her own sound in the process. Her music is supposed to be taken with humor and seriousness at the same time.
Vespertine is my absolute favorite, and An Echo, A Stain, does indeed fit in with the album.
you are right
It sure does it's an Incredible song
I think the Dull flame of desire is ok with its duration, anohni and björk voices are just great
My album ranking 🍄✨
10.Debut 🤗: It's not a bad album but it's not my favorite it has some good songs like venus as a boy and big time sensuality but I don't really like 80's/90's music
9.Volta 👽: I don't know what to say about this album but I liked it and it's underrated
8.Medulla 👄🎶: conceptually it's one of my favorites but I wouldn't listen to it often since it's not very digestible☠️
7.Post💌:I love this album it's one of björk's best it has a lot of gems hyperballad its best her song
6.Homogenic🎎:It's one of my favorites but I only like half the other half ehhh.....
5. Fossora🍄:I know it's not the best björk album but I loved it and it reminds me of my grandmother since she was my maternal figure✨
Biophilia🌜🌛🌞: this is her most underrated album and it has the best concept i love it i wish people would see how beautiful it is ✨
3. Utopia 🧚🏻♀️:Probably "their worst album" but I loved it lyrically I know it's repetitive with the flutes but it's very personal for me✨
2. Vulnicura: 🎻💔:whenever I listen to this album I cry 💔 it's beautiful very emotional without a doubt one of the best
1. Vespertine❄️🌧️:when i heard this i loved it the best album ever i feel bad for the people who don't know it
Great video although I have different opinions on some of the placing and issues that you seem to have, it's always a delight seeing other people sharing their thoughts about björk's work!!
Some of you will understand Biophilia one day
right
Ong 🌌🌌🌌
maybe I'm one of the few who like Volta and Biophilia.
Volta is the most underrated album, I really don't understand the hate for this album.
Biophilia is a good album. I really like idea and lyrics on Biophilia.
my top:
10. Debut(I don't really like this album. yes, it’s has great songs, but rather this album is not for me)
9. Medúlla(To be honest, I rarely listen to anything from this album. if I'm listening, it's probably: The triumph of a heart; Who is it; Oceania)
8. Utopia (Utopia is very interesting in sound. "Losss" is one of my favorite songs in Björk's discography. The sounds of nature in this album are fascinating, but somehow this album did not particularly interest me.)
7. Post (great album, Hyperballed is the best song on the album)
6. Fossora(this is what I expected after Utopia. It’s really surprised me. concept, sound, this album is beautiful)
5. Vespertine (please don't hit me🥹. I love this album very much. I used to listen to Unison all the time as a kid. this album is very solid. I would put it higher, but there are albums that have stuck in my heart more strongly)
4. Biophilia (as I wrote above, this album attracts me with its concept and sound. I think its deserves more. maybe this is Björk's most calm album, but that's what attracts)
3. Volta (this album is like a party. this is amazing. this album makes me move. the album deserves much more recognition. the energy of this album is too strong)
2. Vulnicura (it's just heaven. This album has the best lyrics and the best vocals. For me, this is the most serious album in her discography)
1. Homogenic (this is truly the best album in Björk's discography. every song is amazing. Instrumental, vocals on this album are just great. this is the only album where I listen to every song)
(I don't listen to other albums much (I don't listen to the children's album at all). From Restraint Pattern 9 I can single out only "Storm" and "Bath", sometimes I listen to them)
Doesnt amphibia 'belong' to the vespertine? Its a soundtrack from a movie but i think its from the vespertine era
@@MarusaTheBadKid Yes. I confused with «Oceania». I'm ashamed😅

Yes, Fossora is for real one of Bjorks best albums and I do not get people who have something against it
I cannot do a list, not so far at least, but the album I cannot really listen to until now is Biophilia, at the same time I am giving myself time to listen to all of them slowly so maybe I will love Biophilia in some time.
Imo post is her best album
ur opinion, still Post is awesome
It's my second favourite. It's so interesting.
Utopia is my least favorite. I like the crazy instrumentals but I don't enjoy the vocals. Björk mostly sounds like she's bored out of her mind and some songs begin very interesting but ultimately go nowhere with repetitive vocals (Blissing Me).
I agree
Agreed.
My album ranking
10. Utopia:I've really tried to like this album but it's hard my favorite songs are sue me, future forever and claimstaker
9. Biophilia:With this it happens to me the same as utopia it is not my style of music and I would not listen to it my favorite songs are Thunderbolt, crystalline and mutual core
8. Volta: Most people hate this album but I like the only bad thing is that it's too long my favorite songs Wanderlust, declare idenpendence, pneumonia and earth intruders
7. Debut: This album is enjoyable and I love the music of the 90s my favorites Big time sensuality, venus as a boy, crying and play dead
6. Fossora:I don't like björk's latest projects at all but this one exceeded my expectations a bit my favorites fossora, freefall, atopos and her mother's house
5. Vulnicura: good return after biophilia and volta the only bad thing is that the songs are a bit long but I enjoyed it my favorites stonemilker, notget, atom dance, quicksand and black lake
4. Medúlla:Undoubtedly the best most original album with biophilia one of the best works my favorite oceania, who is it, where's the line, triumph of a heart, vokuro, sonnets and ancestors
3. Post: What can I say about this album? The album is a danceable album and it does not fall into exaggeration like her latest albums, my favorites are army of me, hyperballad, possibly maybe, isobel, it's oh so quiet, enjoy and i miss you
2. Vespertine: her most revolutionary album without a doubt a work of art my favorites pay poetry, undo, unison, cocoon, aurora, sun in my mouth, it's not up to you and A echo, A stain
1. Homogenic:Without a doubt the best album of björk's discography is very good and my favorites are all the songs ❤️

I know right, the Volta tour was something else, and tell me what albums have u not listen to yet so I can tell you if that will happen or not
@@bjorkrules9563 I still haven’t really listened to Biophilia, Utopia and Fossora.
You have to listen to Fossora and Utopia, they have great songs and although in my opinion I do not like some still they are good albums

Agreed with everything
my top:
10. vespertine 🦢 - yes, i am one of the rarest people on the planet who does not like vespertine, for me it is the most boring and drawn-out album, i don’t argue, it has a special vibe and a very meaning, pagan poetry and aurora touch my soul, but i still don’t feel this album
9. fossora 🍄 - fossora has a very deep meaning and interesting sound, but the biggest thing that made me feel this was the song with her daughter Isadora, i cried over it
8. vulnicura 🎻 - i love the vibe of the album, strings with electronic beats, reminds me of homogenic. but two things turn me off:
1) this is a personal story related to my recent breakup, I don't really want to experience pain with bjork or anyone else
2) the fact that it is stretched out is very visible in the black lake, but it is covered by masterpieces like: stonemilker, lionsong, atom dance, mouth mantra or quicksand
7. utopia 🦩 - one of the most atmospheric albums, not the deepest meaning, but quite an interesting concept, the sound is also not far behind, but the album is quite drawn out, too much, especially features creatures.
6. biophilia 🌙 - one of the underrated masterpieces, i put it here only because of the higher ratings for the following albums, this album has its own unique vibe, and things like mutual core should be a UNESCO property
5. debut 🦔 - very nice album, very gentle, you can feel a note of nostalgia for the old days, you can feel the vibe of the 90s (I was born in the 00s lol), from joy to sadness, I think this album is ideal for beginners and basically everyone, it is unique
4. medúlla 🪼 - the vocal album was a brilliant idea, I don't understand people's confusion and especially from Tanya Tagaq's singing, this album is unique in its vibe, Oceania is the pinnacle of the album, and critics underestimate this album
3. volta 🩸- the most underrated album, and there are reasons for this, it's archaic, you don't put together its atmosphere, it's a constructor album, lego, but for me it's a very atmospheric album, African vibes, I pay special tribute to Earth Intruders
2. homogenic 👘 - one of her best works, at first it seems like the strings are the mainstay but then you get Pluto (very underrated song) it has the most interesting structure, the songs are unique and the cover is a masterpiece
1. post 🌃 - the brightest work for me, each song describes a precise stay in a new city, a big city, a very personal album, even a little erotic, its colors and emotions saturate at the first listening and permanently fixate on your brain, I sincerely do not understand why the author wants to send Possibly Maybe to Homogenic, I consider this song one of the most beautiful in the album, in no way inferior to Hyperballad or Army Of Me or even It’s Oh So Quiet

10. Volta
Easily my least favorite. However, i'd only call one track on this album a straight stinker (Declare independence)
9. Biophillia
Aside from a few, this one just doesn't click with me as a whole
8. Homogenic
Im gonna get killed for this one. Though Hunter and Joga are among her finest work, i couldn't care less about the rest. Just doesn't click.
7. Utopia
To me, when this album is bad, its BADDDDD and vice versa (Arisen My Senses, Body Memory, Loss) Not a huge fan of the overall sound however
6. Vespertine
Very similar to utopia except that i dont think this album can be that bad.
5. Fossora
Absolutely not dissapointed. Somehow a combo between Volta and Utopia is awesome. Ovule has been a HUGE favorite of mine, already soaring into my top 3 songs
4. Post
Remarkably solid artpop album that deserves its classic status. God I hate Enjoy though.
3. Vulnicura
Toss up between this and medulla here, and this one lost. Don't get me wrong, some of her all time best work here, but Quicksand is a mediocre ending imo and as you said, mouth mantra is super forgetable.
2. Medulla

Unique sound? Check. Remarkable production? Check. All time favorite songs? (Triumph of a heart, who is it) Check.

Cause homogenic is more spiritual and makes everything so wonderful and spectacular

@@bjorkrules9563 until Ambergris March and Ceatcea?
10 - Debut - It's a little bit sad, but I cannot listen to it again. I discovered Björk with it, but now I just find it boring
9 - Volta - It's basically the same reason as for Debut.
I know that some don't like it but "Vokuro" is probably one of my Björk's favourite and "Desired Constellation" is probably her best song ever, it's such a big strike emotionally (for me at least)
5 - Vespertine - Big fan of this album, maybe the album on this whole planet that is the more accurate with the different feeling that you can feel when you're in love.

My WORST to BEST
10. FOSSORA (6/10)
Yeah, I think the new one is her worst album to date.
FAVS: Ovule*, Ancestress, Freefall, Allow, Fungal City, Fossora
9. VOLTA (6.8/10)
My problem with 'Volta' is not the aesthetic but rather that some songs run on too long and don't progress enough to justify their length i.e.
8. UTOPIA (7.6/10)
A little too bloated and songs are either too long or lack enough structure.
7. DEBUT (7.8/10)
Fun and accessible. A little too simple for my Björk taste and I'm also not a fan of the strong early 90s electronic sound. The album is also her most forgetful for me. However I think it's one of the most definitive and compelling debut albums of all time.
FAVS: Human, Crying, Venus*, Like Someone in Love, Violently Happy, Play Dead
6. BIOPHILIA (8.2/10)
One of Björk's tighter albums.
5. POST (8.6/10)
From 'Miss You' onwards the album is relatively mediocre. Nevertheless a fantastic eclectic pop album that I consider vital in Björk's discography. FAVS: Army, Hyperballad, Modern Things, So Quiet, Enjoy, Flirting Again, Isobel*.
4. VESPERTINE (9.0/10)
By the end of this album it's like eating a little too much of the most delicious dessert you can think of; which is to say that this album is VERY rich.
FAVS: Hidden Place, Cocoon, It's Not Up To You, Undo, Poetry, Frosti, Aurora, Heirloom*
3. MEDÚLLA (9.4/10)
CUTTING EDGE because it's made 98% out of human voices while sounding so diverse and consistent.
2. VULNICURA (9.6/10)
The album that made me a Björk fan.
1. HOMOGENIC (9.8/10)
This would be a 10/10 if the video or Greatest Hits version of 'All is Full of Love' was on the album instead of the ambient album version.
Nothing wrong with it, its just me 😁
Medulla - 2/10 hahahah this is the only one that im not gonna even apologize to any of bjork's fans. But its just proof to me that the human voice alone will just never fascinate me i guess xD
Volta - this album is indeed underrated!
But yeah i dont like it & was dissapointed sadly :(
Other non studio albums:
Restrain 9 or whatever haha - really forgettable one.
Honorable mention is the song Karvel, i think its on I miss you single album. So i rate this album 10/10 for these two songs 😁
Why do u hate the movie?
@@exstasci8660 i literally googled for the first time what country is it from & im not surprised even in the slightest ahhah! My least favourite movie of all time, literally ever is a danish movie Festen. & Please dont get offended if you are from Denmark, i love your country but movies are just something else, man.
@@MarusaTheBadKid I totally get that, European cinema is not for everyone, it can be slow & its less focused on special effects, but i think it has more personality ig, i feel like this cinema have a lot to say, i think cinema ( like any other medium of art) is like a food for our brains and american cinema ( at least the modern ) is like fast food ( i dont think its bad to like it, i like it too) i just think that the europian cinema is more complicated and harder to get into, i really like denish movies espescialy lft movies (btw im not denish lmfao)
dr9 is really good at least in my opinion, i mean there are a 2/3 songs that are awful but it doesn't deserve 2/10 its weird but in a good way , also i dont get why everyone is putting utopia so low its on top 3 for me and i personally dont agree with medulla but i think its valid everything else is valid, sorry for my english

what do you mean Crystalline and Moon are the mediocre ones? You gave Crystalline and Moon 10/10. what hypocrisy

no
@@fragmentedlily what do you think it is then?
@@f4gsforpele at least 5
@@fragmentedlily LMAO. Volta is by far her worst. It has the worst Björk song ever on it (Declare Independence), the worst Björk closer ever (My Juvenile), and in general is messy and has no consistent theme or sound.
