The engine is very similar to the engines on board the RMS Titanic; two of her engines were triple expansion marine steam engines, albeit Titanic's engines were four cylinders as opposed to three."

Then that wiki is wrong. Titanic had two triple-expansion steam engines. Triple-expansion litteraly meaning three cylinders....

Wrong.
Triple expansion means that the steam _expands_ three times.. not the number of cylinders.
The last two cylinders were both used for the third and final expansion.. since you need a lot of volume to extract power from the final expansion and it’s easier to construct two smaller cylinders out of phase with each other than one giant one at that scale.
