- In this vid I show all my pickups at the 2024 HeroesCon. I got to meet some truly great classic creators and get a lot of comics on my want list for crazy cheap.

Some real steals there Metarog! Great stuff. I have always been a big fan of the Marvel Fun and Games series. One of my favorites as a kid and they are just so fun to flip through today. I loved all the games books and magazines as well that Marvel churned out in the 70’s and early 80’s. Looked like a successful con!
Me too. I remember doing a lot of those puzzles when they came out. I especially liked how the heroes would “host” and give you hints. Fun times LP.👍

I was shocked at all the good cheap comics around. Im sure I missed a bunch but there were plenty. Yes, meeting those creators was quite the thrill. To admire their work for years and then to see them in person was a major hero out moment. Thanks Prime.👊

Great Stuff! Digging is always fun at these types of show. Some really great art on those. Midnight Tales 1 is a great find! Secrets of Love and Marriage too.
Yup, diggers envy from this haul.
Once upon a time I was pretty anti signatures too, then I started associating them with the memories of the people.
Or the impact they had on the industry and my opinion shifted.
I still think some signatures can ruin the art, but I appreciate them now.
Thanks Richard. I have a lot of fun digging and finding these gems just added to the thrill. I rarely have creators sign comics but I figured the memories alone was worth the small fees. You just never know if another chance will arise. 😁
okay, so when i go to a comic shop, i have my clz app, and i don't buy anymore comics until i load the bought stuff to the app. how do you know what you are getting and got when you have over a dozen different vendors in one day?
I have a want list on my phone based on an excel spreadsheet vid my collection I’ve had for decades. My memory is still pretty good too.
hey, i got an offer from a 1-80 Star Trek Vol 2 run of the DC series that would make them $2. This seems like a good idea since it is cheaper and quicker than hunting them, and the 2 sources where i go i never EVER see Star Trek in the $1 bins....is it ever okay to buy comics for more than $1?
Sure. If you are going to get them anyway all at once makes sense.
@@metarog idk why but i DO spend loads of money, but i always feel bad about it. I think i have PTSD about children starving in Africa if i don't eat all the food on my plate when i was a kid.
Great haul. Really like the signatures of course. Great list of creators you got to meet. Hope to make it to that con in the future. I’ve heard nothing but good things.
You really should if at all possible Carson. There were wall-to-wall creators and most of the lines were not long at all. Just getting to meet all these community members made it worth it to me. Hope to see you there.😁👍

A great haul Roger but I had no doubt you would find jewels if there are jewels to be had. Of course, this HeroesCON had tons of those. Again, thanks for picking up some of those books for me. Last year, I was hunt for OAs and this year I was hunt for fellow RUclipsrs so my comic hunt is again light but you sure are adding to my hunt!!! :D
Well thank you for the vote of confidence. Yes, there were so many good comics for cheap. In retrospect I should have gotten a bunch more and left some at your place for later pickup. I’m glad I found a few for you as you are a most gracious host… especially putting up with my antics.😁

Wow Rodger, you ended the video with a bang. Two dollars each for those books?! Night Tiger Mike is going to drool after seeing that haul knowing him! Lol. I also like that Silver Age DC Adventure Comic for $2.00 and Bronze Age Marvel Scarecrow #1comic. You definitely did a lot of digging! Too bad you missed out on some of the $2.00 Golden Age books but at least you managed to get some. 👍

You really did "Make out incredible!" I loved this entire program you did tonight because of the joy you shared! It makes it difficult after this to pay "regular prices" on books doesn't it? $1,2 & 3 dollars are right up my ally friend! I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it this year, but i still plan on meeting you someday. You are, and I've said this before, one of the true, great collectors of our time!
Ah thanks so much Alan. I was so engrossed in those bins that even my aching feet didn’t stop me.😁 I guess the joy was too much and it showed in the vid. It is so tough to pay sticker prices even before the Con.

Wow! he coming out punching Rog with the E-man Comic for a Dollar is sweet, I like the cap annual. archie comics are so freaking tight, that black hood looks like a fun read. ghostly tales looks dope. Rog you know you signed the book 🤣 jk, Scary tales look cool. this was a great haul and a great video as always buddy you have great taste in books.
Swagg! Yes buddy that Con was a cornucopia of comic goodness. You would have gone crazy with all the cheap deals. The last day dealers were taking almost any decent offer. I hope to see you at a Con someday… it will be fun.😁👊

There were even better ones I left thinking they could not possibly be this cheap! Bad on me there. There must have been 30 vendors with huge cheap bins there and I think I almost hit them all. I hope you can make it one year and experience the joy!😁 Thanks Schoon.👊

Roger, it sounds like you had a great time. You found some great treasures in the bargain bins too, way to go! I have some 'Fun & Games' as well, they aren't the easiest to find in the wild either, especially unused.

Nice vid Roger. Great pickups. I wanted to tell you check out the Ali vs superman book. I never saw a whitman edition for this book, might be rare
