That's amazing I've just been surveying performances of this piece researching mechanical and neurological aspects of technique (hand position, planes and amplitude of movement and muscle activation) and this guy immediately stood out as having a chaotic and effortful mechanism in the hand compared to so many of the top-flight players - and this completely explains it!
@@subplantant hey I'd like to know what are your observations. Could you give me examples of what do you mean by 'chaotic and effortful' and with which other pianists do you make the comparison? Thanks!
@@davor0croatia I'd be more interested to know what you see - try watching Kissin, Akiko Ebi, Szymon Nehring and Pogorelich (all pianists with miraculous hand organisation in this work) focusing on their RH esp fingers 4 and 5. Notice the angles of approach and height of attack. Look out for any bulging tendons, stretched skin, odd contortions (fingers all different shapes) high shoulders, jaw tension etc. Then jump to this.
@@davor0croatia (goes without saying that we're in extremely rarefied air here - this is clearly an excellent performance and many pianists have famously struggled with this spooky etude)
Great Snipe 2 I know. I just discovered this guy yesterday, was fascinated by his story and playing, and read up on him. Truly stupid to beat up on this guy’s technique, which is more than enough to dispatch with this, one of the most technically difficult of the Chopin etudes, in public performance. At his level of accomplishment splitting hairs on who wins the technique prize is an affront to the artistry of people like this.
@@chezbe Sorry but Barton seems like a semi amateur compared to some of the names mentioned here. He has great videos and tutorials but his performances are no where near these guys.
@@ImvN8Lex only in your opinion, Barton has incredible touch or articulation, his op 25 no 6 - the Best interpritation ever, for real, i can hear every Note
@@chezbe Sorry mate but calling Barton's 25/6 best interpretation ever is just straight up laughable. His right hand is extremely rough, robotic even and his left hand/melody is absolutely non-existent. There are dozens of far superior 25/6 interpretation out there including this one.
Obsessed with his hands. He was born to play piano. Discovered him only recently and love everything he does.
This is natural. He used to play not seriously and easily memorized pieces. Started serious studies at 20. Amazing.
How old is he now?

This is amazing, so articulate, like somebody talking.
Again, all the technique (and more) of the modern machine-players
plus poetry and musical storytelling!
Well , at 0.44 something is going wrong , but insufficient technique ??
A very beautiful performance played with a beautiful technique.
伍庭曄 Ahahahah, you really missed the point :)

Among the greatest intepretations of this I've ever heard, including Pogorelich and Ashkenazy. Stunning.
Beryl Green Paul Barton has good interpritation too :)

Pro Ektor I love that you are his fan because I enjoy him too, but no one can take that seriously. I’m sorry

Quel talent !
Extremely virtuoso and sensitive playing
What a beast.
He sings the melody as he is playing. I thought only jazz people did that.

There are Tonns of classical pianist who sings ...there is just need for good ears😉
