A custom cape for Superman has been a challenge. The wrong pattern will ruin the figure.
This video reviews past footage and compares currents findings to correct past mistakes in cape making.
Cotton material works best, it pleats easily and is light. I used iron adhesive to hold the material .
A superman cape must have two tabs at the top to fix to the figure , wether you drill holes or glue it on.
A half moon cut with and angle cut to those tabs give a correct pattern.
The emblem is cut on Cricket cutter, it make for refined look.
Wire is a 26G, light and flexible.
Adhere the tape to edge and tack down with the iron -- do not stay too long one are as the glue will decompose or breakdown. Remove the backing and fold over the edge and tack down the fabric.
The first pleats will set the pattern for the rest. You need to be precise. Your work surface must be clean and free of debris or stains. Cotton will pickup any inks, dyes, glue etc..... make sure the surface of the iron is also clean.
The final look will better than what you find on eBay.
Time process per cape is about an hour from start to finish. Practice, the first one may not turn out.
Sharing techniques to customize current action figures by painting or sculpting what is needed. Producing a figure the is either improved or just creating one from parts of other figures.

You did an amazing job! The cape is what it needs to be and not like those bad capes they sell on eBay. Question, I also noticed that head sculpt, where did you get it? It's perfect! I really don't like the Macfarlane head sculpt.
I purchased the head sculpt from One12Custom’s…. On eBay… I had to paint it … Action Figure Customs - out of Canada also has it … you’ll need to paint it

Depende que este disponible / accesible… y el resultado que deseas…. Algunos les tengo cuerina, otros poliester, y otros rayon…y finalmente algunas capas de tela de algodon….

how do you secure the cape into superman shoulders? thanks
This an old video… I remember drilling into the body to secure…. I then glued 1/4 inch of it to the shoulder
I now only drill a tiny hole for the wire and fold the end of the fabric glue it folded to its self then the edge of the fold to the body where the exposed wire enters ….
Looks clear and the wire has a better anchor point

Quisiera intentarlo no entendí lo del pegante , se debe cortar dos moldes iguales de la capa y se pegan ? , Cómo se ponen los alambres hay algún otro vídeo donde lo explique ? Muchas gracias
Los alambres van à la orilla , despues de pegar la cinta doblas la orilla dejando un vastilla con alambre al centro de la bastilla - Lo planchas unos centimetros a la Vez para pegue bien el resistol de la cinta

@@carlosfv2 los alambres a mitad de una capa para un batman son con costura y luego se pone El alambre en el hueco de la costura
@Carlos villa la capa de Superman no pongo alambre abajo en la bastilla y’a nunca tendre una pose relajada…pero si deseas alambre alli El proceso es igual

My current cape videos show how I anchor the wire in the cape .. I no longer put large holes in my figures, only tiny perforations for the wire

que material es la tela que tu usas?
Depende la figura y el resultado deseado…
Utilizó tela de algodón, aveces poliéster, aveces cuerina…y en ocasiones de rayón….
Prefiero lo que no se deshilvane tan facil

Entre mas alto el número mas delgado el alambre… menos peso sostiene

yo tengo a un Superman con el traje negro sin capa y quiero saber como las pegas?
Depende la figura….en ocasiones perforaciones para el material o una ranura. Y en otras una perforación para el alambre…y en otras sólo resistol…. Cada figura es diferente…
