The hard thing for me, too, if I were you, would be that if I didn't buy my parents house, it would be hard seeing it in someone else's hands - especially if they didn't treat it well. But then at the same time, if you buy it and move, the same thing could happen to the house you built thinking it was going to be your forever home. But either way, I wish you and yours luck and well-being and hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Thank you! Yeah that would be brutal. We'll see what happens. It's a tough decision to make but a great place to be. I'm super happy with either outcome. 👍

It’s a great opportunity to move into a 35 acre lot and with a big shop man good for you, I would jump on that!!!

My wife and I ride. Its not flat where we are. I see all the open country where you are and you can see for miles. We live in the country side and have hills.

Wow! Sounds like a wonderful opportunity that presents some awfulness as well. Ask yourself does the wonderful out-weigh the awefullness.
I will say 30 acres with huge barn and shop. That's some pretty compelling wonderful.
On a another note, I'm looking for a bike. How do you find your bikes? I know you are in beautiful Alberta and I'm down here in... ..er Texas, but there must things to watch for when sourcing a bike. I like the idea of old bike new life. Most of "today's" bike just don't interest me especially the price. Give me your thoughts.

Yeah it sure is. I am with you 100% on the modern bikes. Most of them are no at all what I get excited about. Except Surlys😆 I would check craigslist and places like that. 90's bikes are generally good candidates. Look for Cromoly tubing and if it's actually labeled on the frame what tuding it was made from, that's a good general indication that it's a decent quality bike. From there, you can do a little research and when you learn what the real good ones are out there, often you can snag them for a few bucks at garage sales because most folks don't know what they have. The best I've done was Bianci that was at the leave it or take it pile at the dump. I sold the frame alone for $450 on eBay. Not bad for essentially a dumpster dive 😆👍

Man, what a great opportunity. It sounds like beautiful land along with more space then I could imagine. I'm interested to see where this adventure takes yall.

Thanks! Yeah it sure would be. Just the ability to build big things (like a gate or something) inside with plenty of room would be amazing. We'll see if it all works out👍

Thank you. Yeah we'll see. It is so hard because I'm 100% happy if we move or stay so it makes it hard to decide. If it's meant to happen, it will👍
