I was born in 1946. My people put down birth and death dates in the family Bible. This was done because most children were born at home. I have a 1855 Bible that was written with a quill from my great aunt husband's family, the John Brown line.
We found 2 family bibles, same family, but one of the bibles is in very poor condition. It was in a plastic bag, it’s been since been transferred to a cloth bag. But we found some old funeral memorials with it. One for my gg grandma and one for my great grandpa.
I love looking on eBay. My great great uncle, Ky Laffoon, was a famous golfer, and I found a really cool pic of him and my great grandfather on eBay. And I found one of Ky’s golf clubs signed by him! Thank you for these sites! Your content is so helpful! If I had the time I’d love to just watch all your content for days and become a genealogist master! Maybe one day! lol
Isn't Geni a global tree... where your tree becomes part of a larger tree? I have tried placing trees on other sites..other than ancestry.. but I don't update them.. or go back and correct... can't frankly remember what I have on what site... so I stick with one.. and I only subscribed to ancestry... back up to Family Tree Maker... so I have copies of images of various documents.
Connie still hoping Ancestry will allow us to add a specific page or half page to explain our tree on Ancestry. We decide if its public or private. Also id like to be able to send a message to more than one member at time from my DNA matches. Be able to tick who i want to send the same message to How can i send these suggestions to Ancestry?
Hi I thought I heard you announce Ancestry was treating all records the same so we call access US and International files from the lower tiered account. I still can’t access international files from my account. Did I miss something? Thanks
I did not say that. However, Ancestry announced that RootsTech that would eventually be merging memberships into one individual and one family membership. They did not give us a timeframe as the one that would happen.
I just ran across a problem that I don’t know how to explain it. I have a cousin with a common ancestor from the 1600. He did dna and I have done dna but according to ancestry we are not related through dna. The only thing I can think of it is that it is too far down the line to connect. Do you have any suggestions

1600's is likely too far back for a quality DNA match. Focus on 4th cousins or closer, IMHO.
