      Since when do you show up for a road race & race with no practice, time trials or nothing. This was wild.1st time on Wet Tires. Actually it turned out to be a pretty good race considering. This weekend was my first visit to the track. The only time I've ever seen it before was on a video game, Forza6. Awesome track & I will be back. What a weekend.

    At 2:34:10 I was at the race and I was down in turn 5 and I watched the 78 get into the 19 of Brandon Jones getting into the corner and they went up the hill and Jones absolutely punted the 78 into turn 6 and he slid into the gravel. I'm suprised nobody saw that.

    I get, strange situation, covid, no practise etc but the new pit stop procedure needs looking at.
    The racing, when they raced was brilliant, and it was good to see back markers at the front.
    Just needs tidying up pit stop wise.

    @1:34:15 That's how the Thunderbirds follow the leader into the ground. All 3 followed each other past the braking mark. lol
    The ol GN guys are putting on a good show here. This is proof these cars can be road raced in the rain on the right track. We really need a Cup race at this track. Bring rain tires and wipers. I think the stock cars might race well at Circuit of the Americas as well. The heavy cars like wide open race tracks with lots of run off. Bring over a few of those V8 Super Car guys. They know how to do it well. For me a 50 year NASCAR fan I like the road races best these days. We need more.
    That was a great race NASCAR. I saw lots of space on the hills for butts.

      @@warren9148 Dirty driving. Dumped Grala in Canada to win and dumped a guy in Rallycross around the same time. Even today you'll see really bad driving from. At the Indy Road Course he tried dumping Allmendinger for about 3 straight laps at every corner. A few examples of why I don't like the guy at all.

    • @philsmidwestclassiccars150
      @philsmidwestclassiccars150 3 года назад +1

      @@DaytonaPrototypes Not to put dirty driving as a statement, but how many times during a road coarse do you see a faster car/driver dump another car/driver. All the time. It is actually considered sportsmanship in the racing community of road racing that when a faster car/driver comes along behind you, instead of blocking the fast lane of the track, you move to the side so the faster car/driver can get by. If not, you will probably get dumped in a corner. The faster car doesn't even need to touch the slower traffic. Just the pressure alone will do the job, from taking the focus of driving to the rear of the car. Yes, you have drivers who are dirty drivers & make their money by banging off the sides of other drivers, but I really don't see that in Austin here. I seen good driving both in traffic & out in the open. Keep in mind that road races are races, but they do carry different type of rules because of the type of track setting. When you try to apply circle track rules to a road coarse, you can see issues rise up right away. Example would be most of your circle tracks have rules as to lanes of travel which essentially mean 2 lanes of racing, especially coming up into a corner. Those same rules apply to road racing but are less enforced. The officials for the road courses over the years have let the drivers work the limited space issue out for themselves, with promising results. The promise is an exciting race.
