These cars are definitely not designed for a road course... It's hard to tell exactly how fast they are compared to GT4 cars like Mustangs, Camaros, PORSCHE Caymans, BMW's etc with around 400hp... But I would bet that the GT4 cars are faster than the ARCA cars.
@@csonkaperdido They don't use the same layout, but GT4 cars would probably lap the NASCAR Daytona road course about as quickly as a Cup car, they're >2 seconds faster on their layout and ~5 sec faster than a Xfinity car.
@@skaldlouiscyphre2453 agreed... I don't have iracing or asseto corsa but I would tend to think that a gt4 car would beat the arca car on the same layout... Gt4 cars probably have more downforce or at least equal, and the gt4 cars are sooooo much better under braking and definitely have higher cornering speeds. Watching "stock" cars on any road course is like watching paint dry... Boring as hell and definitely not quick lol
@@csonkaperdido Definitely. GT4 cars would smoke them on most road courses; I'm pretty sure even TCR or TC2000 cars would be competitive with them on shorter/slower/more technical road courses. Of course, if you had a track like High Speed Ring from Gran Turismo 4 you'd see the stock cars start making the GT nervous; but most road courses aren't fast enough for that to be the case. I just found that track for rFactor and noticed the stock cars that come with it lap within a second +/- of my GT and touring cars. Most other tracks the gap is more than 10%. It's interesting to watch how the two types of cars gain pace in different sections.
After my very scientific study the stock cars tires fell off much quicker and they ended up several laps down due to tire changes. No idea if that's a reflection of what might be expected in reality though.
NH5 will have the indy road course as a dlc update they already confirmed that as for Daytona prob hear 6 since they have to scan it with there system unless they did this weekend who knows
My understanding for the lack of cars this race is NASCAR limiting drivers to only 1 series for the weekend to limit drivers getting practice/experience of the track, if it wasn't for that we'd see higher tier drivers in this race using rental cars.

I wish these announcers would do their homework. Hailie didnt finish her sportscar race on this course. she has mechanical issues, therefore she didnt race in a 4 hour race SMH!!!!!!! Note: she did get lots of practice

@@georgedundas4844 LOL! I wouldn't say Danica was a wanna be. She had skills. Definitely better indy driver than stock car driver. She was just always hyped to be better than she actually was.

Deegan's a whole different story because unlike Danica she has way more experience in low downforce racing and if for some reason she decides nascar isn't her thing she has offroad racing to fall back on which she's also good at.

I do hope they race on the Daytona roadcourse again. It's different and it makes both races at Daytona that much more special.

What is the purpose of the flashing red lights on back of the cars? Anyone know?
Same purpose of taillights on your personal vehicle. So the cars behind you can see you in the rain.
This is a pretty fast road course. These Arca cars look like they’re barely moving. Good race tho.

Maybe NASCAR heat 5 or 6 in the future should put Indy and Daytona road course in there soon.

They've had low entries since the first race at Daytona & well before Covid. NASCAR taking over the series is what cut the field in half.

You got to remember Scott , this is more of a learning curve for these drivers to move them up to the top series
some of it's also because it's 30fps and not 60fps so it doesn't give a sense of speed on wide views.
