Agreed but for all generations. A coworker of mine recently “disappeared.” Found out she’s in a woman’s shelter after being shot by her own son. This was after years of abuse and denigration by her husband which he passed along to his sons. They all viewed her as nothing more than a punching bag that fed and took care of them. When she got out of the hospital but refused to lie and say she did it to herself, her husband beat her again, injured as she was. That was the last straw for her. 30 years of marriage. I cannot imagine the horrors she endured and pray for her to heal from all the ugliness she’s been put through.

I was devastated, my children were devastated and the trauma we experienced is unforgettable. It was the grace of God and a few good people that I was able to heal emotionally and mentally. Please ladies, and gentleman, if you are being abused.......LEAVE. Nothing but death and destruction come from physical abuse. I drove across the country and started all over. With one paycheck in my pocket. It is possible. Thanks for posting this episode.

Luckily for them, they're less likely to get seriously physical injuries.
Also, alot of the times, oitside of being threatened with death,, people in these situations have low self esteem in the first place. It just so happens women are overall, more likely to have problems with self esteem then men. And we all know why too.

When Gina told Whitley That is easy for you to say you have somebody and for Whitley to say yea, Whitley, was a wake up to me and should have been to others as well. I have watched this eposode numerous of times I my younger days and never realized how powerful it was and how appreciative I am now that I am grown and experienced it. Not physical but emotional and mental is just as worse. Woman don't take it! And friends of women who KNOW OR SUSPECT THAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE BEING ABUSED HELP THEM!!

A dear friend has been married to her abuser for 19 years, the man prior to her husband abused her for 8 years. She has spent just about all of her adult life in the cycle of abuse and the isolation caused by her abusers. There are too many women who believe the lie and it is something they have done to trigger an attack. It is heart breaking. OH, how I wish that the men in the lives of there women stepped up, got involved in, and dealt with these abusers man to man. #ThereIsValueInCommunity

I'm a survivor of Domestic Violence and don't ever believe them when they say that they're sorry because they're not. Don't believe them when they say that they won't ever hurt you again, because they will, just don't believe them at all, especially when they say that they love you because they don't. If they really loved you, they wouldn't hurt you. I was lucky to get away, but I've got bad PTSD from it. Before it's asked, no, you don't know in the beginning sometimes because some abusers like mine are so sweet and kind that they get under people's radar. My Daddy used to cry and cuss my abuser's name and tell me that he had always been great at picking out liars and assholes and that my abuser somehow fooled him. I would tell him that didn't he remember that I, too, was great at picking out assholes, and when I told my Momma that something didn't feel right, she told me it was because I was afraid after my first marriage failed, and I accepted that when normally I wouldn't have. The only thing abusers are sorry for and regret is when they get caught.
