Instead of trying to predict your opponent's move (when she wasn't really good at it), she could have focused on the basics. Many shots she tried to anticipate Peter's shots and ended up moving into a wrong foot. If she was humble enough, she might move a bit later but could compensate with her speed and youth. Good lesson for her.
I really like your analysis do you have any good strategy im an intermediate player trying to get to state level strength and skill but i would like to ask what is a good strategy to use in game
Her shots are predictable. That's why Peter can easily get in the position and control the game. Playing against a deceptive type of players needs to have a smoother and calm footworks.
Peter just has better quality shots, better footwork, better everything. Even if Peter was not trying to predict what shots she would play and simply returning to the middle each time, he would easily have controlled the game the same way.
doesn't matter would have still absolutely destroyed her if he wanted to. There are charity games of TTY playing non ranking male singles players from Taiwan and she can't beat them. Also this video is not long after Peter Gade had just retired so TTY wouldn't have stood a chance.
Gade kind of controlled the game, she was nearly always late at every shot. Most of the shots she takes is when she's off balanced. Besides, seeing what Gade can do at the net, I would avoid dropping to him as well, it's an easy any 4 corner shot that has to be taken at the very last moment.
@@vijaysinghpatel3156 @puregale do you even know her approach? she's a doubles player, no way her would out-net a singles, especially a guy. wrt drop shots, it's highly unlikely she'd be able to net and cover her base. just look at her approach, she's making the best use of her doubles offense stratagem, pressing him down on his 4 back corners, and trying as much as possible to avoid net games. learn the game before you comment
@@kweej23 she actually was a singles player back when this was filmed. she only transitioned to doubles after her injury. This video is around 10 years old already. She was number 2 in Canada for singles from the age of 15 or 16. Also the point of these games are more for putting a show for the people watching not to actually beat peter gade
@@Phat-rj3join his late prime Peter Gade moved a lot smoother than Axelsen. Right now is a weak period for MS and that's why Axelsen is dominating. No one else is on the level of prime Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei.
The girl's movements need to be improved greatly, & she missed a lot of opportunities to be aggressive when Gade lost his balance. Fun to watch though.
the girl is already good, it's just Gade has a better reading on her movement and deception, not just because she struggles here he will struggle on her same level competition.
@iamcollinlam i cannot imagine anyone telling a top 20, 5x pan am champion, doubles player her movement needs to be greatly improved. LOL. the audacity.
High level badminton is no joke
Deploy the pee 😭
@@Dragon-Slay3r What?

Its extremely tiring
This clip shows most PG’s winners, but the girl won lots of points too because she served a lot.
Sure, but of course PG is taking it easy on her. She’s an excellent player, but PG is PG.
PG had a lot of chances to completely get winners.. just took easy on her that's it.
How old is Peter Gates? Amazing he can still play. His reverse cut is so deadly I think he is good at that. Reverse cutting to the fore side as well.
This video was filmed around 2013 or 2014 so peter gade would have been about 35 years old here

One of the 4 dragons of badminton ❤
Lin
Chong Wei
Taufik
Peter
you forgot to include me
Feels like PG knew at least 3 of his and her next shots
One of the legends to play the game
The greatest of all time 🐐

Pretty sure the "female player" has a name as well
kristen Tsai, of Canada via Taipei, won the PanAm title for both WS and WD.

@@moatef1886 You are talking about his offense right?
Nice
super
He is still so good
that slice shot really kept her off balance
I like this 2:08
she keeps on feed him birds to his forehand. not a a good strategy
What if he plays TTY?

TTY is the best
Tty will be destroyed 😂😂😂no doubt.. just watch tty vs chou tien chen practice match
If LCW or LD play again this female player.. it's gonna be different..much easier i guess
The problem is that girl don't want do backhand and she hit shuttle to high (wasting her footstep)
The girl didn't use drop shots at all
Yes,she wasn't playing the net at all and when Peter gave her some net shots she absolutely failed to return them.

Imagine PG playing during this era. He would dominate much easier.
nah he would be playing behind Viktor.
