There are two trailheads to reach Woodson Mountain. One is off Highway 67 at a parking pullout. The other is from Lake Poway Recreation Area. Even though there is an entrance fee at Lake Poway, I chose to use this trail to ascend the peak. It is the longer hike also, but I have no complaints. As expected, a line backed up at Potato Chip Rock, which is the true highlight of the hike.
