Hi Clara! You were kind enough to reply to my comment on your air fryer video earlier today (‘very British’) and now this crucial British tea support video pops up right when I need to replace my kettle. Top stuff and thank you! Again, I liked your realistic end user considerations here. :)
I’m still chuckling about your earlier comment (in a good way!) And yes kettles in the UK are extremely important and (whisper it!) better than American ones! 😳🤭
Thank you for commenting on the inability to turn off the noises on the Kitchen Aid kettle, it seems so many appliances have loud beeps now. I bought an expensive Samsung washing machine that makes the most awful noise and terrifies one of our dogs, it was only after I got it and talked to their support department that I found out it’s impossible to turn off the beeping.
We have this Ninja kettle and it’s great - we love the different temperature options and it’s really useful when boiling water to make baby formula milk feeds which requires 70°c minimum water temp; it saves having to boil to 100°c then waiting longer for it to cool.😃
Great stuff ! I have a Dualit kettle and toaster . The kettle is ok so far one year in , not so sure why the 2 slice toaster is so expensive 🤷♂Really question my sanity over that one . Love your videos Clara ❤
I have the toaster too and the crazy thing is it’s probably worth more now second hand than when I bought it (25 years ago!) I think part of the reason Dualit products are so expensive is because they make them in the UK
I've owned several Dualit kettles. They've always let me down in the end but I love the looks. The current one (Architect) leaks. Not ideal but in less than 2 weeks my new kitchen, together with Quooker tap, gets installed. No more kettles for me...😊
I have a weekett smart kettle and I would never ever go back to anything requiring me to get up and press a button now lol. I don't particularly enjoy the look of it, but how it functions, is awesome. I have been really unwell for the last couple of years and need to spend a lot of time resting, in bed. I boil the kettle by voice from my bed, so I don't have to hang around in getting cold in the kitchen waiting (also can't stand that long). I then fill my cup, two flasks, and refill the kettle for next time. I have instant coffee by my bed, so I make it using the water in my flasks until I run out. Rinse and repeat lol.
Another great review, Clara - and with some interesting results! It seems that premium price tag products don't always yield the expected results. Your £30 Morphy Richards kettle held up well and, for the average every day use case of a kettle, out performed the others in both speed and energy consumption. Would I buy a premium kettle (notwithstanding the extra control over temperature?) - not really, unless aesthetics were the main priority of course.
@@CandidClara hand assembled in Crawley. Each one has the assemblers name on it. (apparently) It's a real shame that stuff made in Britain is so expensive. I'm sure if British stuff was competitively priced more people would prefer to buy it, I know I would.
@thinksearchbalance2024 buying all equipment on a review channel is going to have a cost, the Aarke kettle is supposed to be one of the quietest on the market and it would have been a good comparison. I know how to use a noise meter app but with all due respect I'm not the review channel.
Never heard of Ninja kettles. They seem to be everywhere. I think it's rather ugly, despite the advantages you list. Personally I love the build - and colour range of Smeg - but Dualit is the most stunning/iconic of those you reviewed. I guess people buy these because they look cool!
Dulex 😂shinny ❤expensive ❤❤ I have a Judge 1.5L Kettle got for 19.99 Just nice for one person also nice n Light for me with Arthritis in my hands and wrists ❤❤
What fools some manufacturers take us for! My kettle cost less £20 at least 15 years ago and it came from Tesco. Its label says it's a `Rapid Boil' model. It's not particularly noisy and it boils speedily enough for my needs. And it's got a water level window although its minimum level is a wasteful 500 ml. What's not to like? But, hey the hinged plastic lid has started to stick shut - what to do? Why fill it through its wide spout of course! Thank God I still don't need to worry about choosing a replacement - yet! I admire what you're doing but also believe the plethora of so-called `superior' kitchen gadgets will destroy us in the final analysis! Love your thoroughness but I won't be buying any of these three kettles - ever!

Oh that must be maddening!
Very thorough as always!
Thank you! 🙏

I hadn't thought about formula! Yes that feature would be perfect, I remember having to boil and then wait for it to cool with a crying baby!
Clear and informative 👌
Thank you 🙂

Yup, I think Quooker is probably the future for us too

I’m definitely going to look that one up, thanks for mentioning it

It’s funny how it inadvertently ended up being a showcase for a £30 product! 🫣 It just goes to show I never quite know what these tests will show.
@@CandidClarahi great reviews could you possibly do a new update on. Miele please
good reviews
Need a new kettle only ever had normal ones before from Argos and watching this I'll stick with Argos and Morphey.
The only reason I would buy a Dualit is because it's made in Britain.
Surprisingly they actually are made (and not just designed) in the UK, which probably explains the price tag!

i used to have a philips adjustable kettle it was £99 it was real good till it Broke down after 2 years in 2018 ❤
Are you a big tea drinker?
@ yep 👍😄like Coffee too but tea is more refreshing 😍how about you ?
It's a shame this comparison doesn't include the Aarke kettle
buying these kettles is expensive but at least you can compare yours with these and use an app as mentioned , thanks to Clara , best wishes .

I was really really tempted to buy the Aarke, but I thought it might be a slippery slope, once I buy 4, why not 5! 🫣
😂 I could have bought it off you half price 😂 @@CandidClara

I also prefer the Dualit, but objectively the Ninja is a “better buy”

If only we could still buy kettles for £20 that last 15 years, but I fear standards have dropped now
