Ladies&Gentlemen....that's the sound of the 2bnd eq MusicMan Stingray. Young Bass Players notice how he just stayed in the pocket thru out the tune except for a few bars of tasteful and musical soloing. This is how it was done back n the day i. e no looping.........you just had to "stick it on the 1st take because if you didn't then they would find someone else who could. Great playing as always MarloweDK as always .
This STILL makes me shake parts of my body I formerly had no control over. Like everything else you post, spot on. If you're ever in NYC, pizza and beer is on me.
MR MarlowDK. How are you my man? I have been busy with life and two jobs, but finally I am back on line. It is always a pleasure to see you teach and play. You are a very generous man! I envy your ability to grow a beard, I don't know anything about it since I can't grow a potato!!!... I am hairless like a frog. At any rate. I admire your work, and your dedication to share your knowledge with others... You are indeed The Man!!!
You have a really nice taste, man. Teena Marie and Narrada (Get Up, Should I Love Ya, and some Sisters Ledge tunes are some from 80's that knew how put the bass to shake the ground...
zenderlike hey follow Big Ives Williams RUclips channel a lot of bass players are featured on his channel mainly Detroit bass players and quite a few such as Allen Mcgrier who co wrote this song with teena and played bass you'll enjoy the interviews he does in the bassmint👍
The bass groove on this song is so good...shouts out to the producer on this track..
Teena Marie was the producer for this entire project.

... hello friend, great video, I actually follow it on RUclips, I like to "play" with the bass, I wanted to ask you, what year is this MusicMan?
sounds like a '76-77 model to me . . I've had a few of them (still do) and the top end is very early "Ray epoxy preamp, to me, anyway.
Awesome!!!

Dear Thomas, Can you tell me (tel us...) who's the original bass player on this amazing tracks ?
