What can I use to replace a 1/2 guard
some hair is hard to fade..when I use the 1 open to create an inch guideline it doesn't cut so I end up using half

When you flicking out the skin lines are you using the whole blade ?
You get the lines out by angling the trimmers /clippers on the line.
Not the whole blade but about three or four teeth of the blade and pick out the dark spots

I don’t have 0.5mm guard I have only 1.5mm guard.
For a beginner I do not understand. Please take it slow and show us the clipper while making adjustments.
My issue is always keeping everything even...one side be a low fade, other a high fade😂😅
