  • The 1973 stock was manufactured in 1973 and put into operation on the Piccadilly line on July 19, 1975. It has been in service for 51 years. It was manufactured by Metro Carm, using a DC LT118 motor and a maximum speed of 72km/h. It was refurbished from 1996 to 2001 and is currently the second oldest train in the UK after the Bakerloo line 1972 stock. There is no air conditioning in the car. The car is currently in very poor condition and will make various abnormal noises.
The new 2024 stock on the Piccadilly line has been completed and is currently being tested. It is expected to be put on the line next year. The car is equipped with air conditioning and through-type connections, which means that this type of car will be retired one after another next year. Take it and cherish it!
