First, I'm a Big Jeff Lynne Fan, and understand that Jeff Lynne is ELO. When ELO Part 2 came out I was a little skeptical on if it would be good. Well, I will be totally honest with you...This song blew me away! I thought it totally had the sound of ELO. I purchased tickets to their Radio City Music Hall show in New York City, but unfortunately the show was cancelled. They were to play with an Orchestra. A few Years later, they toured as "ORKESTRA". I drove to Atlantic City, New Jersey to see that show. I remember Louis Clark - The one that created Hooked on Classics was in the band. Great show! I was at the original ELO Show - OUT OF THE BLUE Tour at Madison Square Garden. I most recently saw Jeff Lynnes ELO with opening act Dhani Harrison at The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. I just picked up the ELO Part 2 album on Clear Vinyl. Love this album!
I have to disagree, ELO isn't only Jeff Lynne, there's talented musicians responsible for the band's discography Kelly Groucutt bass player, Richard Tandy keyboard wizard both passed away and Bev Bevan on the skins, with Mr Blue Sky himself Jeff Lynne that's my favourite line up, the golden era of ELO, Secret Messages was their last great album, now....I know about Jeff Lynne's ELO but it's basically Jeff Lynne singing his songs he wrote, Mr Lynne is a great song writer but he's not ELO on his own, ELO is more the sum of it's parts, Time is my favourite album btw
I count Elo part 2 albums as regular Elo albums as it has several members of the lineup. Where as albums like zoom is just Jeff Lynne. They wanted to make this an Elo album but Jeff Lynne refused to give them use of the label
I remember this being a Radio Luxembourg 'Powerplay.' Good to see Hugh McDowell (the Keith Moon of cello). Very sad Kelly and Pete Haycock are no longer with us. I know Jeff was not a part of it but these were nonetheless exciting times.
Wow 1994 I didn't think they went that far back, you know I can't even think of any of their songs, I do love ELO though these guys in this video however aren't ELO
Jeff was real busy with all those other people he worked with. The drummer started this band. Who would have dreamt that many years later there would be a Jeff Lynne ELO band. Releasing new albums with new material. ELO part 2 became The Orchestra.......
I like well love this band too just as much as ELO. Saw this group twice live in the 1990s. Bev Bevan. Mik Kaminski. Kelly Groucutt. Eric Troyer is a great singer. Great voice. Louis Clark. Well they are the names I remember and recall anyway. To all of them I say thank you. Don't stop rocking !!!
@@andshits Clark indeed is a great arranger. On the classic ELO albums, he is credited for doing the "orchestral and choral arrangements" in collaboration with Jeff and Richard Tandy usually
Honestly the best song off their first album. Their second album, Moment of Truth would be their greatest, unless you count their latest and last under The Orchestra moniker, No Rewind.
@@flibbityjibbity Hadn’t listened to my cd in years. Thank you! That is a good song I missed when I first listened! Always appreciate someone alerting me to a track or song I may have missed! Now, off to listen to the whole CD again! Cheers!

You have the nucleus of the original band here. The true spirit and feel of the band. For me the real deal. Simple as that. Lead vocalist is ace! Fantastic. Recently Jeff lynne attended a rock and roll hall of fame for ELO with himself and a backing band!!!!! What an insult to the other original members who were the sound of the band!
@@markclifford9410 Have you two never heard of Roy Wood, or you think Roy was not a founding member? "Nucleus of the original band"? Great to notice Mik Kaminski in this, but he was not original either. I loved ELO Part 2 also, but let's be more accurate.
Moment of truth is a fine album. I really like the 1st album it has really grown on me over the years. Even though I think on the 1st album the band are still trying to find their feet and establish their sound etc. No Rewind is also great. The first album has an experimental feel to it I believe. Still good though.
I love this. I love the message. I still like ELO Part II as a band in their own right, some of their songs sounded like the Eagles, with a strong AOR sound. Some were a little too soft ELO for me. But all in all, liked them.
Bev Bevan, Mik and Kelly. Should be in ELO. Who knows why. This stuff is good, but I hate it when original groups can't stay together. It's never quite the same.
By Bevs own words, ELO Part 2 was a great band that needed better song writers. Saw them in their first tour in Birmingham. Some of there own material was great to give credit. They sounded great, their playing was never in doubt.
@@THEOUTCASTSCREATIVE Zoom wasn't terrible, it just isn't ELO. Lynne is brilliant but he drifted far too much into the "boom/chunk" production sound that has defined him since the late 80's. He let go of all the rest that made ELO great. Part II didn't have his brilliance, but they had everything else that made ELO sound good, and they did sound good.
Desde el 91 buscando hombres honestos que salven al mundo..aparecio alguno? el glorioso regreso de la genial ELO matrimonio perfecto entre rock y sinfonia
Jeff could not even come close to singing this high - except falsetto - he had Kelly for that live and in the studio... Eric Troyer's voice has a good octave higher range...
This is a really, really good song. Sadly their (admittedly very good) crack at the ELO sound made it sound more like an off brand knock off (or at best the ELO equivalent to The Rutles) Had they have found their own direction and gave themselves a better name they could have found some real credibility in their own right!
Your description 'ELO equivalent to The Rutles' is spot on. Good music, but still only a clone of the original band (like the Rutles) without having the visionary genius of Lynne
The purist will argue no Jeff Lynn no ELO but this is as good as any of the original ELO songs
I'd tend to agree but for years i thought Bevan was Lynne singing!
@@elruxpinoBev doesnt sing, thats Eric Troyer
Great to see this again a tribute to 3 great musicians Kelly Groucutt, Hugh McDowell and Pete Haycock , all sadly missed.
ELO это не только Jeff Lynne.Это музыканты группы. Отдельное спасибо Эрику Троэру за любовь к музыке ELO.
I saw these guys back in the 19s. What a great song! Why did this not become a hit song? Great stuff!
Kelly , Hugh & Pete sadly no longer here ....RIP
