Last episode had me worried this game was gonna turn into brit or bust but this episode really restored my faith in the game. That boss fight was awesome!
I think you made this too hard. Fire one weapon per activation, not all weapons per activation. Shift which weapon each activation. So first activation is the scatter, second is plasma, third is frag, and the warship does not retain. If you play co-op then fourth activation is the scatter, and so on.

Open door, see spaceship with enough guns to blow up another spaceship, start thinking the bar back in the entry dock area wasn’t so bad after all

Yes, thats how I took the weapons on the ship o function also. No wonder the team was like a corn stalks to a combine.
