The fact that you have a figure of yourself with the amount of detail it has and how much effort Bobby has put in to pay respect to you is absolutely what makes Valaverse such a unique figure company
@@thundergodgamer118 the figures in the video, and an old toy line back in the 70’s 80’s or 90’s even I’m not too sure on when but the were 1/6 scale toys with fabric outfits, kids loved em
This was pure gold. Desert Rat taking over again, the commercial, the walkthrough, the review... comical, informative, and entertaining. Thank you for this. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Thanks for having me do the voice of Trigger for this awesome video. This review was fun and informative. I especially enjoy the injection of real world experience. It's time for Action!!
Out of everything you talked about, my favorite part of this video was when you shared what you kept in your medkit. The only person I know personally who served at the same time you did is my youngest sister, but she was in the Navy on board the Ronald Reagan, and didn't have equipment like you did. I remember as a kid I asked my dad what he carried when he was in the army in the 60s, but he was a guard in Germany, and usually only had his uniform a pistol and whatever rifle he carried. My grandfather was a firefighter in the Navy in 1945, so anything he had was basically the same as what a civilian firefighter would have had. So I like learning about what equipment you would have aside from your weapons.
The taun taun bit had me in fkn stitches , I want a stop motion movie with the two figures and one taun taun at the begining , we all know it would do better than the shows getting streamed these days . Set up a go fund me , we need this , I know I'd pay to watch it .
Awesome video! It's great having a video review guide as a companion to collecting this line. Just got my Night Ops Steel Brigade in and love them. Big Bad should be shipping my overdue order for series one sometime next week. Guess I'll have to re-watch your series one video to prepare. Once again, thanks for all you do for the collecting community and congratulations on being added to the line as Desert Rat.
Just brilliant again. Didn't know I was about to get some real lessons but it was marvellous. How amazing to have been immortalised in your own figure! Loving these vids!
This is more than a toy review, it's a history lesson as well very cool to see the accuracy one of the Best toy companies out there love collecting this line Excellent review.
Wow this is such a great video! Thank you for the in-depth explanation of the gear and your irl comparison! So awesome that you are immortalized in such a great way!
I’m a fan of your videos and purchased this figure just because I thought it was very well done and cool-looking. I had NO IDEA it was based on you! Fantastic.
Man, id love to get my paintbrush on that uniform, a little weathering, while not necessary, the sculpt is so good, it would go from awesome toy to art!
Thanks for the review and thank you for your service. I'm looking forward to getting my own Desert Rat and some of the Action Force figures in the very near future.
Just the name Action Force makes me nostalgic and happy. So many great memories - the Comics, the figures, the vehicles. Great video, just all about the toys and why they are great. Thanks. I probably will never get any as I am working away from home so I like to see the figures.
I finally got Trigger the other day. My first AF fig. The realistic poses are fantastic. I am absolutely in love with the feel of this fig. Everything is perfect. Will be getting Desert Rat and Pandora soon would also love to find Kerak but hes either too expensive or sold out
Because of this video: 1) I realized that I was missing Desert Rat in my collection. 2) I appreciate the detailing to each figure right down to the weapons, the patches, and equipment. God bless, even the tattoos got to me. 3) The story of Bobby Vala and the origins of these characters felt more like an introduction to a heritage line than pop culture retro revival. I’m hooked! Absolutely hooked on these toys! If Bobby sees orders of 2’s and 3’s of each characters, That’s me 😊. I’m an in box and out of box collector. ❤
What an amazing honor it must be to have an action figure company make a figure in your likeness like this, and named after one of your favorite characters! How cool is that?! Great video!
Awwww, you didn't tell the story about getting the carded vintage Desert Rat! Just kidding, let oeople find it on the livestream. I'd love to see a 'Desert Rat Reacts' where he watches the beginning of this and just shakes his head at himself. 100% right about the Delta Trooper; I think it's the best troop builder since the stormtrooper. The Two Cents Toys video (did you see it?) had me sold on it. It's a perfect callback to the classic green army plastic figurines we used to create battlegrounds with. Awesome video, thanks!
Another top notch look into Action Force. I love this line and I agree is the first line that has made me feel like a kid since I was getting my first Joes at age 4
I know how much dislike there is for the new Joe Classified Series here, but as an American and growing up in the 80's, the new Classifieds are my thing, but saying that I just cant pass on these Action Force figures. They are to fantastic not too, and as a bonus it helps a small business owner in my country compete with the larger corporations. In me and my children's "Universe" per say, they play with them as a European counterpart to the Joe team in their war on Cobra. (my kids are 9 and 12, they were roughly the same age as myself when ARAH was launched, so they took an immediate interest in the Classified series when they saw the first one in the stores) I personally like the Troop builder figures as we use them as Delta force and SAS spec op teams to augment the Joes on their adventures. Just turning 50 this year and being able to play with them in something that was apart of my childhood , AND going overboard on buying figures (😆), is keeping me young in heart and spirit, and Action force is apart of that now.
Tony - this just popped up on my "Recently Added" and I can say that within the last 6 months watching action figure videos, your review of Series 2B is perhaps one of the best. Through your other videos and the 3POA work, I have fallen under the Action Force fandom. Unfortunately, my collection space is extremely limited and has been dedicated to Marvel. Originally a fan of the comic based line, I fell under the spell of the ML brand however have moved on to alternative manufacturers of Marvel products. My favorite Marvel character is Ben Grimm, the Thing (Diamond Select), isolated in a diorama by itself. I purchased my first Action Force yesterday. My first AF since I was a child. Desert Rat is now posing right beside the Thing in its diorama. I couldn't think of a better place in my Marvel collection for Desert Rat. Love your work. Love the entertainment. Please keep it up. p.s. No, there will not be a Bratz Car in my collection (or a Hellcharger)!
@ Dark Woods. 3.75 & 6in Red Shadows are coming, just from a different company called Skeletron and the first few figures are being offered as add-ons thru their RoboSkull MK 2 KickStarter. I believe their backerkit preorder store is still open but I would check them out on IG to confirm cause I’m not sure. It had closed 4/30 but then they reopened the store at JoeFest.
The series 1 troopers I was torn on which one to collect. An easy choice after seeing the Delta Troopers. A lot of other good troop building options with the Garrison Cavalry, Scarabs and the Night Ops Steel Brigade. I have two series now stacked up at BBTS ready to do another trip across the world.
Great video Tony, always informative & entertaining! With some great insights you genuinely wont get else where! definitely make me itchy for more Action Force!
Got my desert rat and delta trooper and gear pack this week from toysarama in the UK this week and it was well worth the wait. Another stunning series of figures from valaverse. I'm hoping trigger will be in stock shortly as I'm definitely buying him as well. Keep up the awesome work Bobby and team👍👍👍
even though the figure is supposed to be based on desert rat 2028, they still should have gave you a swappable head to show how you looked when you served in Iraqi back in the day. the one with the beard looks like my good friend and fellow toy collector, Greg Cook. he served in the Marines. i even told him that when he did his review of him. most of my family served in the armed forces which is how i figured you might have served as well cause of the way you talked about the differences in weapons and equipment in your last video. So, thank you for your service, good sir.
I keep promising myself, due to space and cost, I will end out my collecting with Marvel Legends... however. The more I see of Action Force the more I want these excellent looking figures. These click the nostalgia switch in my head just as Marvel does, in they make me think of sitting with my dad who was a Vietnam Vet, talking over the truths and embellishments of GI Joe 3.75 line at the time. Thanks for the great and informative video.... and I just ordered my first Action Force guys. I think Desert Rat is going to look pretty awesome with my Marvel Legends. Thanks Tony!
