Thank you for the excellent review of the Lockwood range. I believe that the "pocket" on the right-hand-side of the A5 Lockwood is not really a pocket at all, but intended to hold the cardboard backer of an A5 writing pad. Fortunately, there are several other pockets!

I have a lockwood personal slim line with 11 mm rings and I wanted to add that on this model it also has no outside pockets just like the pocket slim size. Perhaps someone will find this useful to know because I was a bit disappointed it was just a seam and not a pocket despite being a slightly larger size. Also, I did notice the different camera and it looks great! No speck of dust in sight.

The leather of the Malden feels much more "artificial", coated or painted to me than the Lockwood leather. I would ALWAYS prefer the leather of the Lockwood.

It seems that there could be 2 versions of leather for the Lockwood:
      Shiny plasticy (calf?) leather and
      Soft and squidgy buffalo leather.
At least that is what I find on the intnernet (Filowiki).
I have a zipped A5 in very shiny condition and I wish it was buffalo. But the binder is great.

@@Oldnose63 Yes, I agree with you! My Personal Lockwood is more „grainy“, whereas my A5 is more shiny. But the shiny one ages very nice.
Have you ever seen or used Van der Spek‘s „Janet Leather“ Binders? Got two of them and love them both.

Are you still using Lockwoods or you are now fully in x47?

Hi Mike. Like most folk in the "planner community" I change my setup regularly according to need and whim. My diary for 2023 and 2024 were/are in an X47. I really appreciate being able to write on 100% of the paper on a flat surface in a compact system. I have always found writing around rings very irksome. But any book-by-book system will never be as flexible as a loose leaf system, and there are still items I need to carry in a ring-bound organiser. Currently those are in a Filofax personal compact Finsbury. I sometimes use the Lockwood Pocket Slim on the go. The other Lockwoods are awaiting my next change of mood to come back into service ;-)

Any thoughts on the zip version?

I don't have a zipped version to review at the moment - hopefully in the near future.
