If I have a 5th gen 4Runner, would XXL size too big for my RTT on my Gobi rack? I would appreciate your advice.

Don't know exactly. It is warmer than a traditional tent on the ground. They sell an isothermic insulator but so far we haven't required it even in sub-freezing temps.
