Tobias Johnson That guy is clearly in a state of shock. Our minds are not capable of processing such horrible events in a short period of time, I mean look at him. He's going from trying to smile it off to laughing to near tears to almost zero expressions in his face. In less than 6 minutes.
He obviously has not fully realised what happened around him.
Edit: and yeah, that piece of shit reporter is disgusting. I get it, you want to deliver news, but that's not news, that's exploiting a terrifying anecdote from a man they already shoved infront of a camera. His story could've been told another day, when he got some rest and silence.

Persephone Black I'm not saying you haven't, and that sucks a lot that you have. But people do react differently to each other when in shock and just because this dude isn't breaking down on camera in that moment doesn't automatically mean that he's faking it as some people are insisting.

David Gray he was probably released after getting initial treatment. If he stayed and recovered in the hospital he would have a medical bill that costs him thousands of dollars. Shitty part about living in a society that doesn’t have a tax payer funded universal healthcare system. Imagine getting shot 2-3 times in a mass shooting, than getting handed a huge medical bill after almost dying.

    • @josephgallo4625
      @josephgallo4625 5 лет назад +1

@@LimJayhey What if his buddy had medical insurance? Lots of people in America have medical insurance. Either way, if you got shot in the chest 3 times with a rifle, pay the $10,000 bill to live. Lots of people in America can afford to pay that bill too. It's one of the benefits of a capitalist system where people can actually make money. Hahaha see what I did there? Now go fuck yourself.

I have been restraining but can't help myself from commenting...this man is my uncle, this story is very much real. He was still in shock and like others have said, not everyone has the same reactions to situations. The first time I watched this video my heart broke in two as I watched my uncle tear up. He is a strong, suffer in silence kind of man, but he is also a very kind, caring, emotional man... and I could tell it was starting to sink in with him. His friend was shot 3 times and there are plenty of news articles about that here in Alaska and I reckon we will hear from his friend too. I understand being skeptical of news companies, but he is not a paid actor or telling any lies. He is a hero, as well as all the other people that saved countless lives with their heroic actions in this tragedy. It's easy to comment and criticize sitting back but just think for a second, what if you are wrong?
He's a retired teacher and is still active with the youth in his community and gives countless hours of his time to help others. I hate that he was put in this situation but was not surprised for a second that he sacrificed his safety to help others.
The things these all of these people went through are more horrific than any of us will probably ever know. I'm going to say prayers and stand together with the survivors and victims and their families❤️

I dunno if your aware of this but wen ppl die, they defecate and urinate. So there's that to deal with. And your gonna sit there and tell me your not screaming your head off? Your not losing it a little? You walk away like it's another day at the office, like your immune to it all? What kind of work do you do? You don't go thru something like that and come out cool as a cucumber. Ppl that witness death, police officers that see death every damn day, are required to talk to therapists about what they experienced, immediately after so they're not traumatized by it. Wow. so...
    - 3 .223 rounds to the chest
    - carried over a fence
    - 'slid' under a stage
    - ran and 'rolled' on a cart
    - loaded into a pickup truck
    - turned around back to point A
    - out the truck
    - into an ambulance
.... and "he's fine now" according to this fella being interviewed.
i'm sorry but give me a break. i'm from the hood you can't bulshit with that script

There are alot of people that will start saying this is real or a fake event, staged or whatever. You jump to conclusions to fast, lets get all the footage, all the witnesses and interviews then we can jump to conclusions.
Also you have to realize that people might smile and act "unusual". Not everyone breaks down in tears, because of the adrenaline and euphoria and booze and drugs. But most importunately the fact that they got alive out of it. Also men process loss a bit slower then women as they are trained to remain strong and sharp in order to take decisions. Emotions are good but not in this situations. You need a sharp and clear mind else you become chaotic and start taking bad decisions. You got plenty of time afterwards to deal and process everything that happened.
This guy friend was shot 3 times (or so it says) and he is alive and well giving the circumstances. I would be happy if i would be him. Sure, a stranger died in his arms but it was a stranger, no emotional connection there to affect him right away.
Keep calm and lets wait for everything to come out and see what really happened.

Shot three times in the chest, his buddy called his family twice before the surgery (according to local newspaper article), the next day he's not even on oxygen or IV pump, clean shaven, looking rosier than I do. That doesn't happen in real life. He heard his buddy saying 'I got hit'? No, the first thing he should've noticed is the buddy falling down. Who stands there to take three bullets and calmly says 'I'm shot'.

How is this dude so calm cool and collected after witnessing his buddy, his best friend in the world, get shot 3 times?? That's unimaginable😮😮😮 think about how worried you are about a friend or loved one when they're hurt, when they're in surgery and their life hangs in the balance.. You don't know if they're gonna make it. Your damn near distraught, crying, you look devastated and lost. Now take this guy here, his buddy gets nailed with 3 bullets. Imagine for a second your him... Are u able to give this interview looking like this? How? How are you not in total shock. How are you so calm and cool? What is going on here? Just 4 weeks ago my dad did major surgery, we weren't sure he'd make it but all the time while he was gone, I was a mess. I was pacing and crying and praying and sobbing and my life was in choas. My face and eyes were red from crying, my hands were shaking like a crack whore. Could I have done an interview without bursting into tears at the mention of his name?? HELL NO!!!! and he's going thru something even more horrific than I did. Damn. I can't get this? I can't get how calm he is. I've been more upset after my team lost than how he looks after going thru that. My puppy died last December because of kidney failure and I couldn't say his name for 2 weeks without sobbing my eyes out. He looks like he's talking about a total stranger. He looks like he survived the worst mass shooting in US history, quite well. Had I or any sane human person I know gone thru that unfazed? No. And an interview is the LAST thing I'd do. I'm just saying. Something doesn't add up here.

How do these people live with themselves? Only someone without a conscience could play that part. Was this done that sloppy or is getting that old that people can see through the theatrics?

When I was a kid I always wanted to visit the U.S. Now that I have the enough financial resources to do it, I feel like it's not really a good time for me to go there. See you in a couple of years, hope it gets better. And my condolences to the families of the victims and I wish the injured get well soon.

When people are under extreme stress, alternating between shock and laughing is actually a sign they're snapping.
