Who measures thinks in cubits? Other than Noah of course.

Outside of North America, people have actual knowledge. That is what is probably throwing you off.

@@penelopepurr I literally meant who uses cubits? Everyone but Americans? I mean, I’m in the medical field and we use the metric system. I can’t believe that isn’t the standard in America. But I’ve never measured something I’m in cubits so I’m curious. No need to get salty pal.

Cubit was a standard measure in ancient Egypt

The 'walking lion' hallmark on the nail buffer is correctly known by the heraldic term 'lion passant', from the Latin/French for 'to walk'. I knew both that and the Birmingham anchor assay mark thanks to 'Antique Road Trip'. By the way, if you ever find a piece of British silver with the assay mark for Chester (three wheatsheaves and a sword pointing upwards), grab it if you can. The Chester assay office closed in 1962, so Chester pieces are hard to find.

The gun-like item at the end I hazard to guess looks to be a gun for shooting a thin line across from one ship to another so that a larger line could be passed over.

Ok I’ve got no guess but that sounds logical as what looks like a sight would position the the barrel on an uphill target.

Maybe some sort of device for starting an engine

Last one is for detonating large cannon rounds, it attaches to base & acts as a primer filled with gunpowder then was fired when on target

I got the nail buffer even though I didn't realize that the buffing leather was missing. 🙂

Is the last object for shooting a tear gas canister?

The gun is a tear gas gun.

Projectile: 5 inch, Yes. .38 caliber? No.

    • @jbrou123
      @jbrou123 7 месяцев назад +13

Not .38 caliber, 38 caliber. In Navy guns the caliber is the ratio of the dimeter of the projectile to barrel length. In this case, 5-inch, 38 caliber means the barrel length is 38 times the diameter. So, the barrel is 5x38 or 190 inches (15 ft, 10in).

Clearly you don't read your comments whatsoever because I'm not the only one that comments that your audio is really screwed up while trying to watch it on TV with requires it to be tripled in volume

Just to let you know, its quite possible its your system of viewership. Could be your not in stereo, or in stereo. Mono or balance is to one side or the other. Its frustrating when this happens and not knowing the cause can really be angering.
My sound is fine on this channel, but i have experienced a similar situation in the past.
I would recommend going to a head phone and adjust the audio that way. Conversely if already using a headphone, doing the opposite.
I hope this helps, and if wrong i was just trying to help...

Just chiming in here as well: I played several videos from this channel on my TV (although I usually don't) and the audio was the same as everything else I watch. Maybe had to increase the volume a little bit, but I chalk that up to the old-school computer narrator.
