Yep soon as they hear that accent they automatically think money. I have more respect for the people who do good business and I usually tip them.

Mel, I've watched particular RUclips videos regarding certain countries in Africa, and EVERY person has said this happens to Americans specifically. I've also seen credible RUclips videos on poor customer service, specifically in Cape Coast. Thanks for sharing!

I agree, Mel. Also be careful of those who give "gifts". That's another issue I've seen with ghanaians. But I grew up in the hood so I already know there's no such thing as a free lunch. People will act like your friend and then they will later come with a laundry list of issues and expect you to return the favor, which if they would have just charged you upfront it would have been cheaper. My husband tried to get a song produced and the producer refuses to give us a price to produce one song, yet every week he hinted us at financial issues- broken phone, broken hard drive, no transport money for an event. At this point we decided to no longer take him seriously even though he's good. No one likes to be taken advantage of. Praying these type of people will learn.

Is it better to go to the regular markets. Because if they hear your accent of course they're going to price gouge. I hate when they do that cuz it's annoying. I had to deal with it too so I just go to actual markets. You know the regular supermarkets.

And we tell others about your price gouging so they don't shop with you either.

Understand why you are not forced to buy something yet you complain after buying it?if the price is not good to you don’t buy it.
