    I am So so thankful, thank you for making this video. I was just bored and searching for the much visit guitar store before you die, and some of the websites popped out. So, I randomly looked for the guitars those stores sell. Then there was a shop named “Folkway” the picture of the guitar on their website just so pure, beautiful, and high quality. All of the sudden this guitar caught my eye. I was so in to it, and learning why I hadn’t seen this brand for my short 4 years guitar life. However, after watched this video you made I was very disappointed for the sound of the little one, even I already had the knowledge of the limit that every small guitar could make. Over, I am still thankful and wanted to collect some of them as art for their colors just so unique. Forgot to mention one of the reasons why I met this brand so late, it is because I live in the east and this brand and factory are from Canada.

      I'm glad I could help you find the Art and Lutherie brand of guitars! They are wonderful guitars for the price and for Folkway, they are actually a friend of ours! I've sent quite a few folks their way over the last few years.

    I have the Roadhouse and to me the piezo sounds way better live than what I hear on a recording like this where they run it direct to an interface. I’m not saying piezo is great, but I think the lack of a speaker in the recording signal chain affects the sound negatively. Would love to see someone put these through a decent acoustic amp, then mic it to give us a better “in the room” sound for comparison.

    It has a 9v battery. I have this guitar in the concert body and denim finish. It is not passive unless they are using it without the battery. There is a preamp in the guitar. I have never plugged mine in but this sounds awesome.

    I have been changing strings and only than I noticed the battery on the inside of the top side of the guitar...... so it's not passive at all... but still I love it!

    Both sound great. Love the denim finish too. (I wish they offered it in the left handed models). I can't understand why it's so difficult for companies to make an acoustic that actually sounds decent plugged in. (Are you listening, Taylor?!). I hate the typical piezo sound you hear in 99% of the guitars out there that come equipped with them. (That crappy Fishman sound). It's the prime reason why you never hear anyone demoing the electronics on RUclips when they're trying to sell you one of these other brand guitars.

    I haven’t found any information about it, but the without need of battery description is interesting to me as I am sure mine has a battery inside, although mine is a Norman B-18 parlor which is pretty much the same guitar as the roadhouse. Can you clarify this for me?

    • @TheOctaveMusicCentre
      @TheOctaveMusicCentre  3 года назад

      I just checked our Norman as well. I saw a battery in there but I am pretty sure the Godin rep said they should be battery free. Let me reach out to him then I'll let you know!

    The Art & Lutherie Roadhouse EQ's are made in China, I was surprised and disappointed with Godin deciding to go that way. I know a lot of people don't care where the guitar is made, but me personally I hate they have Chinese guitars.

      Yes, I agree with you.
      Where the guitar comes from is very important.
      I've always thought so, and I always will.

      If it says Canada on the headstock it is obviously manufactured in Quebec. Chinese models do not say this.

      @@user-gg5eu2zb1g Agree with you. Matters to me also where a guitar/instrument is made.

    Godin acoustics (Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick, Seagull, Norman and La Patrie) are almost impossible to beat at the price. Godin has the low end of the guitar market locked up. Nothing sounds as good at the price and their workmanship is excellent. They do need a setup though when new but so does any other guitar under $1500.

      Again this ideology on China. We are no longer in the 80s. The Chinese work just as well as any human and especially when they are under the control of a serious company like Godin, do you think that Godin would put his reputation at stake? are made by Chinese hands but with Godin quality control, this makes their guitars sell cheaper. Yesterday I tried a Chinese-made Art & Lutherie Legacy Lightburst and let me tell you, it was simply impeccable in terms of sound level fit and finish.

      I run all my acoustics through UAD on stage with the Woodworks plugin which makes them sound miked. If you really care about making them sound real thats the best option. this particular guitar (the roadhouse q discrete) can sound great through uad
