I remember that race at pocono in 1979 like it was yesterday
The races where not on T /V like today so I listen to it on the radio.
    Thank you for the memories.

I enjoy you both so much and your insight. It's an engineering exercise not a race anymore. My first race at a track was Pocono 1984 and watched you carve through the field like no other after a rain delay, and wishing I think in 1985 or 1986 dueling at the end with Earnhardt for 201 with him as usual an accident in the tunnel turn. The crowd was cheering whole heartily for it, but you both have given us so many great memories. They say you're disappointed meeting your heroes not true, both gentleman always, Rich.

The King is right. It’s not racing anymore. Just a game of chess with remote controlled cars.

The 43 looked good until the last stage and that crazy stuff happened.

I would LOVE SO MUCH if you guys would show an ole Race that Dale and The King ran and have them review it as though they were the Live Commentators. That would be so cool.

Had a great time at Pocono on Sunday even though we missed Dale at the Petty hat.

Richard certainly calls it like he sees it. The King won at Pocono two times, including the first NASCAR Cup Series race held there in 1974. No engine horsepower on this generation of Cup Series racer is really limiting the on track competition. No horsepower equals no throttle to pass other cars. Which all equates to follow-the-leader style racing. At this one, drivers and crew chiefs conspired to save fuel for the finish as a racing strategy. All which limited the on track competition. Thanks to these two Hall of Fame members for sharing their insight. JMO

Usually play checkers at Pocono because it's so foggy you can't see ;-)
Many years ago, on a foggy Pocono morning, we saw King officiate a wedding on the back of a rollback on the front straight.

I had a hot pass for pocono , and saw Mr Inman sitting behind the hauler pre race and don’t want to interrupt , I waited until he took a break in his conversation and from about ten feet away said , Mr. Inman you’re the man. And he gave me the thumbs up.
