Thank you so much Renata! Love all your tips- definitely helpful & always so relaxing listening and watching you :) I remember watching all those beautiful videos you briefly showed in this video too! I especially LOVED the seascapes/ beach (towards the end- think it's one of my favourites of yours actually!), th wave and beautiful soft purple/blue landscape. Perhaps another video using masking fluid ( or salt actually- Love that effect!) would be a lovely idea if you have time one day :) hope you have a wonderful weekend xx
Thank you dear! I do plan to do more videos using salt and masking fluid. I love them also. So it will come. I am so happy to hear you enjoy my videos so much. That always makes my day.
@@MarenaART You always make MY day too!!! edit... have you ever tried using a credit card with watercolours?!? i saw something where someone use a credit card!?
I've had the worst week with masking fluid. My first time really using it, and it was a disaster. I bought one of the 4mm pens and it fused with my paper and wouldn't come up. So then I pulled out the Windsor & Newton masking fluid I bought a year ago. You need to shake it up so well before you use it after that long, so I gave it a good shake. And the lid apparently wasn't on that tight because it splattered on me and got it in my hair! Latex liquid in my hair! Fortunately I didn't get hit with too much, but I really needed a video like this after the week I've had. I think I'll get one of these applicators and tiptoe back in to trying it again. Thank you! ☺️
Hi Renata! I just watched this, as I did not have any masking fluid when I did your members-only leaf tutorial. I am planning on doing many of your tutorials and it looks like it will come in very handy to get some really interesting results! I don't want to mess with the brushes, so I am going to order some of the pens right now from your Amazon storefront!
I've always look and wanted to buy masking fluid but the prices are driving me crazy, I think it's too much also my pocket can't afford them haha. Hope one day I can try them, tired of highlighting my paintings with opaque whites:(
I use 300gsm, but I do notice rips also sometimes due to how old is the masking fluid. Also cellulose paper tends to tear more then cotton and if it is just even slightly wet when trying to take it off, even more. So sometimes it is not only the thickness of the paper but also other things. Maybe try above 200gsm, but keep in mind other factors.
Hey, I do use marking tape. But as one I actually use washi tapes (you can find link in description of this video :), because they don`t tear paper and sometimes little stronger masking tape can. I use washi tape for covering the borders of my painting to make that nice white edge. You can also use them if you need a straight line in you painting (horizon line, building, etc...) - just glue them on paper and when paint dries peal it of. Also it can be used instead of masking fluid or marker - cut it into the shape you wanna mask (maybe moon, sun, flower,...) and glue onto paper. when you finish the background or everything around it peal it of. I hope that answered your question. :)
:( But maybe it is something to consider when you think of getting some supplies in the future. There is so many you can do with it and it does make a lot of things easier.
The palette knife is going to be a game changer. Thank you!
Using a palette knife as an applicator & showing how to clean the tips with a spray bottle are both excellent tips.
Thank you! I am glad they were helpful. :)
Beautiful colors and tutorial..🙂👏🧑🏻🎨

:) They are very practical. Just keep in mind to use them and not have them sitting on your table. Tips can get clogged out and become harder to use.

:) You should definitely get them when you can. One bottle of masking fluid can go a long long way. :)
very nice good job stay connected

What gsm of paper thickness is needed? My 130gsm paper tears with the Windsor and Newton. Please help

Can you plz share what is masking tape used for? Is there any use in your art?

@@MarenaART thank you so much for giving me these tips 😍😘...actually I've soft masking tape ...it can't tear paper as it's so soft and smooth...😊🤗😘
@@bellaswan9317 That`s great! I`ve never found one so soft. It either could not stick when I added water to the paper or it tore it. :(
@@MarenaART I wish, you'll get that soft one soon Inshallah
