He is a good husband that he does not demand his wife to make any side dishes of rice, vegetables or noodles. However the young man and teen boy kept asking for rice. Uncle said just eat the meat as uncle prepared the whole meal himself which he did included some vegetables but no rice. It’s funny how the guests asked for rice several times and were told no rice. But Uncle and wife took no offense to that! It must be okay in their culture to do that. But to me it seems a little too forward for here in America to tell the host they should include rice. I would just be thankful to receive a free gourmet meal from Uncle, Lol.
Rice is staple part of their in China and they are very straight forward and direct when speaking to one another. It's nothing to get offended about. They were just wxcited for some rice lol.
