It was a fun time with lots of crazy fights and some rally exceptional fighters at their best. Nowadays we're truely spoiled by the amount of high level fights we get to see and also the overall talent pool is much deeper. Goodridge was such a brute, oftenly he'd throw more shots after a fighter being knocked out and made lots of trauma. Yet very quickly he lost his chin and other fighters didn't spare him a bit

    • @JamoonXerxesSauber
      @JamoonXerxesSauber 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@Ill.righteous31 oh for sure. That's the warrior mentality at the end of the day. I did kick boxing for ten years, four of them at (a very low) competition level. Training consisted of limited heavy sparring here and there and that was enough for me, didn't want to take the risk long term, especially going into a technical day job. No one is going to remember my name in the annals of combat sport, but many will remember Gary. So it is what it is. The guys I feel sorry for are some of the ones I trained with who never made it but heavy sparred for decades and probably will get CTE. Again, they had a great time doing it, so it is what it is.
