This is exactly the reason why I still don't like this game after close to 40 hours and it pains me. Previous souls games have for the most part been hard, but fair. This is just an unreadable overtuned clusterfuck of enemy design. Really, Slave Knight Gael - the FINAL BOSS OF THE SOULS TRILOGY - was easier than most major bosses in this game (looking at you margit).

Just finished the game the other night and I felt nothing. It really wasnt worth it.

Didn’t even make it through the end cause of pure boredom. I stopped in that dungeon behind the secret path in volcano manor

Input-reading, RNG decision-making, combo strings without recovery time, and Bloodborne aggression and speed while you’re restricted to Dark Souls movement and healing.
Dark Souls 3 was also guilty of that last one, though, but it was far from game-breaking. Though, it does result in a fair number of unfair deaths in that game.

A Souls-like game that makes you feel only relief when a boss is dead.

Do you like massive pools of health? The real enemy of the game is retaining attention.

This was my first from soft game I got a real pallet cleanser when I played dark souls 1 remastered
Aside from some teleporting ornstein fuckery and the final stretch of the game being hard for the sake of hard it's pretty much a perfect game
I liked blighttown for example the sense of dread and anticipation really built it up for me it served as a great contrast of difficulty for all the areas around it
And then that final stretch I mentioned pretty much just felt like it was trying to one up blighttown for the sake of it

1:18 That right there is a perfect example of the bs that fanboys try to pretend doesn’t exist. 2-hit undodgeable combo. Roll through the first hit only to be guaranteed hit by the second because it hits your character right before your character has finished his first roll. Impossible to avoid because the game won’t let you move. This was not a problem with DS3.

Which is why, to this day, I haven't bothered to beat Elden Ring. I got SO tired of being punished for doing what I was supposed to.

There were quite a few times there you should have struck the enemy but your attack went right through with no effect.

One Light attack and two Charged attacks where I THOUGHT I was in range but wasn't.
Two Light Attacks in which the boss ''dodged'' through them.

Ah, input reading AI. Don’t you just love it when they’re designed to win instead of providing an entertaining challenge?
