Seriously........how can Stephanie remember gifts of books and their titles from months ago? Again, her Oxford Education comes in handy. lolol :-) I am so glad Stephanie does these "gifts videos" so people that sent her gifts get enjoyment of her opening them and those of us that don't send gifts also can be part of the enjoyment. Every single present Stephanie has opened in the last year, she has been so thankful and gracious and know right where or when to use her new gift. I love that.
Can I just say how much I love how you have managed to make the name “LaLande” synonymous with such lovely people, community, peace, love, laughter, friendship, beauty, food, design, and all things good. Thank you Stephanie especially and thank you to my fellow “LaLanders”, near and far. 🙏❤️
Ha ha, of course I missed the one that had my art on , LOL, such is life. I am SO honored that it was well received. And I'd be happy if Stephanie hung it in a closet or hallway as I was just so inspired by LaLande so much this year. 2020's silver lining has been the finding of darling Stephanie, the family of Lalanders (both in the house and in the chats) at the time most needed. I credit Darling Stephanie for even inspiring me to make my little videos as her spirit and happiness is so contagious, it encouraged and inspired me to go forward with it. Thank you all for allowing my little trifles to be shown and Thank you again, LaLanders everywhere for making 2020 not only more bearable, but in so many ways, magical. This has really been such fun! Oh and That China ....drool. What a happy circumstance that it has found it's way from America back to lovely France, into the loving arms of Stephanie, and the gorgeous walls of LaLande :)
You are so very talented Donna, Love your "Book, which is not a book"... & the hedge hog in a tea cup...so cute! All of it is so beautiful! Take care...
As a result of viewing Donna Davis art on Stephanie’s channel, I found her vlog and wholeheartedly agree with Cherie! She is so talented, has the most amazingly calm voice and is a joy to watch. So glad about this discovery. Totally agree that she should write that book and of course illustrations are wonderful. So clever.
Oh to only have an ounce of talent Donna Davis has. Her artwork with the "not book" is so lovely. Bravo Donna, a beautiful tribute to the furry people of Lalande.
I am a devotee of beautiful bags and that bag is literally on another level of elegance and perfection. Congratulations on receiving such a munificent gift. I think that Donna's art is extraordinary! I NEEEEEED that diary cookbook for my own library and I just ordered a copy from the internet! Thank you for the video! I look forward to the Cadeaux videos. They are a total stress-relief experience!
@@bettygehm2436 I told one of my best friends where I got them and the shop said that I had bought the stock ! She was slightly put out after she had seen mine ! xo
I've been waiting for weeks and weeks for Donna's amazing artwork to be opened. I know that all of Donna's followers have so enjoyed watching her wonderful illustrations take shape on Donna Davis Art, what a great feeling to finally see the reveal to Stephanie! Well done, Donna!
Donna Davis is probably the only person I frequently talk to in the live chat. She's amazing, funny, cheeky, elegant and knowledgeable. Her voice is very soothing too if you watch her vlogs. I'm not easily won over to be honest, but she's an amazing person.
I agree. I love Donna Davis's vlog. Her neighborhood is lovely. She has great brocantes/thrift shops in the Sandwich/Cape Cod area. How wonderful that she has chosen Chateau Lalande and its cast of characters to be subjects in her art and writings.
I have been anxiously awaiting your opening of Donna Davis’ gifts and was beginning to despair! So happy to see your reaction. I love her vlog An Artist’s Life and through Donna, found yours. Cheers from Dallas!
Could also use the small bowls for berries, puddings or nut bowls at cocktail corner. Such a beautiful china set and it is so wonderful for it to have found a home at the chateau where it will be used and enjoyed.💗💖💗
I would love to hear any book read by Stephanie. I can't tell you the thrill of hearing my few feeble little story ideas read aloud, she is a natural talent in so many things :)
AMAZING beyond AMAZING.. so many beautiful things . When I was younger my grandmother and my mother had Havaland sets..Still a favorite of mine as is all things Lemouge.. Even had a black poodle named Lemouge.. thank you Stephanie and all for your fun and informative uploads.. 🥀❣♦️🍾🥂🤗💋🙏🥀
I found Donna Davis on your channel and have been following her during the pandemic. I now plan to visit Cape Cod to go Antique Shopping there, and perhaps rent out her 300 year old family colonial cottage one day. Her art is delightful and her Vlogs as well. It will be surreal to be visiting the shoreline of Bunny Hall as I have watched the Season change on my computer. This to me is like a Pen Pal site, this Utube, because we can watch the lives or projects being done, and comment, and converse back and forth. Technology!! Amazing!!
I am dying here with Stephanie's story about Nic thinking Michael Potts was a loud snorer and all along it was the attic owl. lololol WONDERFUL Gifts Donna Davis. You have such talent. So nice of Nati recommend your Vlog to all of us. Nati is AWESOME. Donna Davis, I believe you live in the New England Region of the US like I do.? :-)
Hello lovely lalanders ! I love all these thoughtful and beautiful gifts as they give me ideas for Xmas! So nice and joyful ! Thank you To all of you who sent all these presents Because I love To see how caring , generous and people are especially during this awful year! To all of you Lalanders and viewers, please take care and stay safe! Bisous from Alsace 😘😀🎅🎅🎅🎅
When mark when our Amy was in the hospital she was horrified about her hair. American nurses commonly wear these, and of her nurses made them and offered to make one for Amy in any color. Amy chose red and black like Minnie mouse. It looked so cute on her and she didn't have to feel so bad about her hair.
The small Haviland bowls are called fruit bowls. Maybe it's an American thing? For berries, citrus, fruit salad, etc. The small plates are for bread or rolls. Merry Christmas, y'all!
Yes! The high end manufacturers made plates and bowls in so many shapes and sizes, dinner plates, luncheon plates, salad plates, bread plates... you would need a chateau or stately manor the house them all! Merry Christmas from Sydney! 🦘
I thought so as well, @Catherine O as we always had 'berry bowls' as part of dinner service here in America. I think they are too shallow for finger bowls and those are usually cut crystal, but I could be wrong. I believe small is bread and next small is salad, then next size down is usually a luncheon plate than larger for a dinner plate, but it could easily be different all over. That is what is so lovely about China you can use is it as you like it.
A good laugh right at the start with Philipp saying Stephanie looks like a Milkmayd also teaching Kindergarden. So sweet! really Yes,, Natty has a look of a Vet, and you Philipp well, remind me of a ,Singh' met long Time ago in Ludhiana, India. ; )) The Haviland service from Susan from Kansas, reminds me of the saying: "mettre les petits plats dans les grands" ...an me to, I love the 'croché' Handbag!
How exciting to see Donna Davis’s LaLande art opened and so enjoyed! I discovered her vlog through Chateau Diaries and it is delightful, not the least is her soothing voice as she takes us on walks along the Cape Cod seashore next to her house Bunny Hall and to the local antique and thrift shops. We got to watch her create the Too Many Ian’s and Philip would be thrilled to know she is currently raising a baby quail named Una.
Always a wonderful surprise to see the thoughtful and beautifully made, painted, and selected gifts. Your enthusiasm for each gift is charming. Buying all the frames before close down was a great idea.
One can never have too many Ians 😉 I love that book, not a book! You could use those small bowls/plates for pats of butter and jam at afternoon tea. Or prawn cocktail, that sounds good too 😊
Smallest plates (China set at end of vlog) are "bread plates"...put at top of dinner plates for bread & butter. Next size bigger are "salad/dessert" plates...placed to upper left of dinner plate if used for salad (or can place on top of dinner plate for separate salad course) or use for dessert of course. The tiny bowl are called "fruit bowls"...of course can be used for all sorts of things.😉
Oh Donna, you did a journal with Lalande. You are a fortune about to be made if a) you write that book and b) if you sold journals made to order of people's homes, summer homes, favorite place...I would love to order something like that for a few family members.
Wow ! Fantastic gifts..the books, precious creature paintings and stories...I've been smiling throughout and get a kick out of Phillips reactions to the precious creatures.

Interesting little tidbit about your owl, have you named it? They hunt mice and other things you might not want getting into the chateau. The snoring story was so cute.
The shape of the gorgeous yellow handbag was very Chanel like, to me.
I agree. It's a stunning bag.

I have been searching for a pattern for them, cannot find them. Are they called something different than scrub hats? Cindy Garrison?
That is such a sweet story.
I will ask her and get back to you!
I found a bunch on Etsy. They should be worn with fitted band and loose beret-like in back. Scrub caps!
Your art is absolutely fantastic. And you write too!!! Wow! I have seen the vlog. ❤

Or I was thinking finger bowls

@donna Davis. So glad your gift arrived to Stephanie!! Love your channel!!
Interesting little tidbit about your owl, have you named it? They hunt mice and other things you might not want getting into the chateau. The snoring story was so cute.
I would suggest calling the Screech (sp?) Owl, “Potts!”. Continuing on for all generations!
Such adorable gifts again
