Silver Surfer has actually been cited as Stan Lee's favorite character. There's this amazing miniseries called Silver Surfer Black and it was written by Donny Cates, who also did that Venom run I recommended to you guys. He said while he was writing SS Black, it was very emotional because Stan had passed recently to the time he was working on it. The story genuinely feels like a love letter to both Surfer and Stan and has a really fulfilling arc for him. Highly recommend
That is very touching, but you know what isn't? The true creator of the character, Jack Kirby, also was very proud of his creation, of both Galactus and Silver Surfer. However, Stan saw the popularity of the character and started a solo series about him, without Jack Kirby. Needless to say, he was pretty disappointed. Anyway, in the series, Stan Lee basicly added the entire backstory for the Surfer, his past as Norrin Rad, Zenn La, Shalla Bal, ecc. But that was NOT what Kirby had in mind. Kirby's Surfer was a being of pure energy, created by Galactus, he wasn't supposed to have a past, he was a Luciferian figure, an angel who rebels against his god. In fact, if you read the appearences of SS in Fantastic Four series by Jack Kirby, you'll see that he is totally different from his solo series. Obviusly, Jack was pissed, and from that moment on he refused to create any particular new character for Marvel for the fear that something like this might happen. It's the reason Darkseid is a DC character XD
Without breaking the fourth wall, the ending was a commentary on the nature of Death Battle and the versus community as a whole. I recommend watching it again and paying more attention to their dialogue.

The Power Cosmic is just too OP for Martian Manhunter to deal with. The Silver Surfer could literally do anything with it so Martian Manhunter never stood a chance. The Flash would be a better opponent for the Silver Surfer because the Speed Force is just as ridiculous as the Power Cosmic.
True, but i dont see how flash (either Barry or Wally) could really harm or even killing him. Only by time travelling before he got his powers maybe? But i am not sure if that would even be allowed or would even work since they are not even from the same verse, so running back in time in a different verse in a 1v1 seems kinda strange to me

J'onn is my favorite hero in all of comics, but even I knew he didn't have a chance. Much like the Venom vs. Bane battle, these characters aren't on the same base level. The Power Cosmic is effectively magic, so it was an unfair fight from the beginning.
I hear you, but it was cool. It was also simply hella lopsided, despite the Martian's OP power, the surfer is just orders of magnitude too much. There was a marvel dc crossover of superman & silver surfer (Ron Lim art/era, sounds like you were reading that). superman is shocked at how insanely powerful the surfer is...and it's CASUAL feats to the surfer. Not the fighting stuff, per se, but, well, check it out, it was fun.

So much they got wrong with this battle. First they don't realize that DC and marvel's cosmology are not the same. 6th dimensional beings aren't the same in each verse. Perpetua is beyond SS and J'onn was not only able to have his mind move faster into plank time, he also survived a punch from her and complete disintegration. That right there shows ss can't destroy him. The creator of not only the previous version of the dc universe but of martians as well failed to fully destroy him. And that's if ss can hit him since MM can phase through basically anything, including energy based attacks. His mental abilities were also beyond anything ss has had to deal with, including the mind stone. Being able to affect not only the mind of mxy, a 5th dimensional imp who is beyond ss, but of other higher beings. Like how he contacted the mind of an angel while that angel was in heaven, a higher dimensional plane in the god sphere. The god sphere being an outerversal realm infinitely bigger than the multiverse. Or when he put a hindu god to sleep, who was going to destroy all of creation. And as for if martian manhunter could kill ss, the answer is also yes. He's punched superboy prime so hard he made him bleed, prime being able to retcon reality with his punches. When he became Fernus and dog walked the justice league and killed several white martians in the phantom zone, he separated himself from fernus and then destroyed him. He also shattered the mind of an alien into tiny pieces, then put those pieces into the minds of every human on earth, trapping him inside humanity's unconscious mind. There's a reason even superman doesn't want to fight this guy.
