Having a concentrated portfolio in small cap funds could be a risky approach because even if one or two stocks underperform it could impact portfolio performance. Large cap funds offer protection to your portfolio but mid and small cap funds also enhance overall portfolio returns over time as they give growth to your portfolio. One can invest in an ELSS Fund that is well diversified across market segments depending on the risk profile. Don’t time your SIPs and stay invested for the long term. Never miss investing in SIP at lower stock market levels which is where your wealth gets created over time.
