    With the fact that they touted their oddly shaped fields and that most maps don't have sharply North/south alligned fields, it's wild that the terrain angles are still so coarse. The zigzag pattern on fields continues to look awful.
    And if it's a performance issue, it should be a setting.

    I think it would be really good if weather played more of a role, e.g. You can random weather, and the ground plays along so if you had a lot of rain the ground becomes really muddy,, therefore you can get stuck of certain machines like disc drills get blocked, or if there hasn't been rain for a while the ground is dry and if you try and plough it breaks the plough. It would also be really nice, although it's hard to mod, if things like compaction (which would make tire choices important) and weed/ diseases were a thing as well, But Giants have mad a good start.

    I think the game is great to be fair. Its the first FS that has worked out of the box since Fs17. I was expecting the usual hours of messing around trying to get controllers working and then lots of re-starts due to finding a bug and then having to find a work around, but, no. I mean, I'm sure there are lots of issues but i haven't encountered anything too problematic. When i bought FS22, I literally played for an hour, shut it down and didn't go back to it until this year when i played it for a few hours and thought nah..
    The multi angle thing... This has been my game breaking bug bear with every fs version. If you are going to include row crops in your game, then make sure it works properly and you have the proper processes and equipment included. I've worked on potato farms and there is soo much more involved than the 3 step, plough/cultivate/plant process. I really wish they had kept the game simple but made sure the attention to detail was exceptional. Its like, oh yeah, row crops are there, they are unplayable but here, have a dog, oh look, horses...
    I saw a way to edit fs22 to increase the number of angles in Giants editor. I did do this successfully. I'm wondering if this will be the same in 25 or if its a totally different?

    I really wish they would sort things like this out and stop relying on the modders to make up for the lacking job Giants do with certain things. They should physicalise the ground and textures. They make some really detailed models like the plow you are using and then just apply a block area of effect to it. For me there isn't enough of a change to warrant a whole new game. When I saw the railers and early footage the visuals looked wicked especially with the mist/fog but just in general it looked far more "real-life" and now seeing this map and lighting and materials of the vehicles and implements and such it doesn't look any different to FS22. Once again they add something or 2 "new" things and only half do the job. Shame. Edit: I think the "deformable" ground might still just be a texture just with a bit of a Z direction to give the impression of depth since you still only have, with the potatoes, 4 angles for the ridges. When you are going off angle you can still see the edge of the hit box of the implements work area continuing off in another direction. If it was proper deformable ground then the ridges would follow the implement precisely.

    To be fair though about the potato rows, or anything really that's planted in rows nobody really ever plants curved rows. At least in our farm we never have, and I've never seen any neighboring farms do that too, we just choose a side of the field, start with a straight line and go, no headlands, no curves, you just choose a line and go from one end to the other. So really the only problem I have with their system is that you can't choose your row lines, you're forced into the whatever direction they snap to, if you have a square piece of land and it's angles match whatever angle the rows snap to that's not a problem, but at least for me I enjoy european style maps with tight, twisty fields with trees or rock formations in certain spots, it makes it feel alive, lived in and reminds me of our own farm lands and with those kinds of fields it's impossible to look any rows look good

    • @TheFarmSimGuy
      @TheFarmSimGuy  2 месяца назад

      That’s my point (probably explained poorly) unless the field on the map is at 0,45 or 90 degrees the ridges won’t match the direction of the planter. Fine on maps with square fields north to south but anything else and it just loses immersion for me

FS thanks it’s popularity to modders, no to the paid people at Giants. They make the game for weekend warriors and expect the modders to finish the game for sim players. Stop wasting time adding non farming stuff and add actual farming related ones and I will respect Giants again. So if playing realistic, would you not just go up and down, lifting the machine as you turned? i dont believe a farmer would just ham it around the headlands to curve them? i could be wrong, but it is a sim. Potatoes are only planted in straight lines anyway!

      Ok so if you’re driving across the field at 20 degrees you’d be happy that the rows are at 45 degrees?

    This has always been infuriating! That should be added as standard. Probably the weakest part of the game so far, which is actually very impressive - only one weak point!

      You are forgetting that it has got the FS19 skybox which paints everything in a 1,000,000 shades of pastel.

      No I don’t think I’m forgetting anything. It looks completely different to the FS19 sky… especially at night. I think you might be watching videos for a different game maybe.

      @@BigBoiCymru6 Of Corse it is not exactly the same the moon not square for a kick-off, but it defiantly is a revamp version of the FS19 skybox.

    ah thats so so dissapointing, please someone let me kknow if they make a mod to fix terrain angles and crop angles

  • @callumwharton6735
    @callumwharton6735 2 месяца назад

    Don't need multiple terrain with spuds it's not how there grown
    . You can't plant spuds or lift them or D stone round a curve so making it curve is unrealistic. They have kept it ecsactly how it should be should be . That's ecsactly why potato fields don't go right to the edge of any fields

    • @TheFarmSimGuy

      So if I want to plant my potatoes at 10 degrees across my field the pattern shows at 45 degrees, pretty sure that's not how it works in real life, I'm not talking about curves I'm talking about being able to choose the angle of the straight line you go in

  • @karolisbielskus6288

    but nobody in real life doing headlands for potatos and only straight lines

      My point is if you field is 10 degrees off north, it"ll still draw your ridges at 45 degrees and will look stupid, i used the curve of the field to demonstrate the shifting anles not aligning wit hthe planter
