Some of us still gotta go to work 😢 I got coworkers who were forced to sleep at work last night before the storm hit midnight. We're all healthcare professionals at utmb galveston. And some of us are classified as E-1 emergency personnel (only we have to come during any disaster so that patients/people aren't dying. The only good thing is... we get 24hours worth of pay every day were there... so there's that? I rather stay with my wife and kids tho to make sure they're OK. (They are, but you know how anxiety goes for everyone during these times)

I find the different visual representations of this storm very interesting. For instance we begin this video with heavy dark blood red and black in the representation of the cat 1 and then they switch to a much reduced visual with greens, yellows, and orange colors.
Did you see oil and burning flames shooting from the sky onto cars and burning down homes!? That’s insanity. I’ve never actually seen a transformer BLOW cause just the amount of fire and oil not going out would be INSANE! Now if you heard a pop, that’s wonderful cause that’s just a line fuse.

no they did not downplay it. They definitely warned everyone and said it was going to restrengthen to a cat 1. They definitely warned everyone to prepare, while simultaneously also rightfully saying and correctly saying that this is NOT as bad as Ike or Harvey or Katrina, because, it’s NOT as bad as those were. Plain and simple. So, they said everything they needed to say to warn people. It’s on your own responsibility after that.

I was well prepared but some of my neighbors and friends said it wasn’t going to hit us because of what they saw on the news. These people have been wrong about literally everything so far

Meanwhile All local stations said it “could” intensify and it was supposed to go around the city. They haven’t gotten a single prediction correct so far. From northern Mexico, to Brownsville, to Corpus then Matagorda Bay but Houston was going to be “fine”. Oh please, it was turning towards us the entire time and easily predictable for anyone except the “experts”
Outside of last minute notice, I'm sure their will be some resivour release that floods those same areas as usual. The price of being wring can be so high. I do wonder how long it will take the power tube restored though.
July tropical activity might lay low however, August, September & October will probably prove fatal in terms of intensity for those that will be as the Atlantic hurricane season continues following the month of July for 2024
Everyone who thought it would hit the tip of texas stopped looking at live updates two days ago. Yesterday morning they said somewhere between south padre and Matagorda. It made landfall at matagorda.
